Could someone post the full squad including HG status and position in here please and for it to be a place to come back to and discuss.

As a polite plea - any chance just one thread (this one) could be free from the 'COG' 'Bedwetter' 'Mogi' 'Lessons learned' etc posts. They have become massively boring and tiring to read constantly.

    Thanks for both!

Blimey that HG list looks depressing. Is WTE really HG ?

Ludicrously, u21 players who have not trained in England/Wales for 3 years count against the Rule of 11. That includes Scottish players so for Rule 11 purposes, Pedro (until Jan), Asprilla, Cukur, Mebude and Angelini would also be considered foreign.

Wow.....I didn't know that. That's a bit of a shocker, although it shouldn't really effect us too much. Only Pedro and Aprilla would be first team players from that lot, and as you say, Pedro drops off the list in January. Angelini at a push if we're hit with a couple of keeper injuries.

It does inhibit Angelini/Dahlberg’s chances of being number 2 or even in the squad.

Should these 4 be in the homegrown list? Given they've been given a lot of PR by the club previously, or in the case of Ngakia played a fair few games.

I was looking at this yesterday, I'd probably include Femenia in the 'going/sell' list. Otherwise largely agree with that, if Asprilla is any good, perhaps he can take a slot but maybe a loan for him.

I am surprised to see Samir and Kamara in our squad for this season. I thought they would be agitating for moves away but if they are prepared to fight for the cause, good on them I say.

That is an awful, awful squad.
I am not sure that in is good enough for the Championship.
What a depressing time to be a Watford FC.
All the BS from the CEO regarding promotion back to the Premier league. This is a pipe dream with the current squad.
Avoid relegation to League One would a plus for next season.

It's honestly a horrible looking squad. The fact that we are still relying on Cleverley, Gosling, Kabasele, Cathcart etc is laughable.

Yes, he went to school in Bishops Stortford. He was in Fulhams academy from ages 15-17 then joined the Tottenham academy at 17 and stayed there until he was 20.

Andrew French sought clarification from the club - Quina counts as homegrown. Other than that your list looks good.

If people feel this way, then they should be free to air their views.
Surely, the fans forum are not trying to paper of the cracks?
Let's see what happens this season. If those members who have given criticism are wrong, then perhaps you ban them next season.
    Good luck with that.

What a wonderful group of human beings we have.
With their skills, attitude and flair we will waltz the Championship, win the league Cup and bury the opposition in the FA Cup final.
A sell out stadium will be seen as opposed to the 1,000's of no-shows last season.
Harmonious singing and clapping unheard of in peace time will ring around Vicarage Road as Scott Duxbury is lifted upon the shoulders of joyous credit worthy players and paraded from the ground.
Commissions for the statue are sent out to all artists.
In 2023/24 the squad blaze a trail through the Premier league and look forward to a Champions league campaign in 2024/25.

Wow and I thought we looked dis-jointed when we lined up against Boro' two seasons ago. We are bound to have a lot of "floating" players like that season, and whether or not they have new clubs or pending medicals etc. will no doubt play a role into them being part of the match day 22. Our forward line looks threadbare. Where the goals are coming from I have no idea - but I guess the proof of the pudding is the eating of it. We could all be surprised at what we are left with after the window closes, and we will be - not in a good way.

That seems harsh that Mebude would fall under the rule. I mean he was born in London and didnt move to Scotland until he was 10. Then again it seems crazy to me that Scottish/Welsh u21 players would count against the rule of 11 anyway

Also, who the hell is this Juergen Elitim chap? Dont recall hearing of him before

Good to see you haven't learned your lesson from 2020/21, where you predicted relegation to League 1, and we went on to get promoted fairly comfortably with a record breaking defensive record.

Actually a pretty good omen for the upcoming campaign that you're expressing the same sentiments.

Given there were clues on yesterday's club video with the formation boards behind Edwards, it looks like we'll be shaping up in a 3-4-1-2 formation. With that in mind, I've tried to apply our current squad to see how it fits and where we need reinforcements, in 1-2-3 order. I've left out those who I believe will be gone.

    GK
    1. Okoye
    2. new number 2
    3. Elliot

    LCB
    1. Samir

    Central CB

    1. Sierralta
    2. Pollock
    3. WTE

    RCB
    1. Cathcart
    2. Kabasele

    LWB
    1. Kamara
    2. Sema (converted to this position)
    3. Morris

    RWB
    1. Kiko
    2. Hungbo (converted to this position)
    3. Ngakia

    2 midfield positions
    1. Cleverley, Louza
    2. Gosling, Kayembe
    3. TDB, Manning

    Number 10
    1. Pedro
    2. Aprilla
    3. Quina

    Forwards
    1. ?????, ?????

    2. Bayo, ?????
    3. Forde, Fletcher

Can't see where Baah or Kalu fit

So the best team I can create, right now, is:-

    ....................Okoye
    ...Cathcart, Sierralta, Samir
    Kiko, Cleverley, Louza, Kamara
    ...................Pedro
    ..........??????, ??????

We're in a far worse state this summer than last time IMO

With the exception of JP, Louza and Kamara the squad on paper today looks mid table champ at best and the indications so far are that incomings are going to be both minimal and mediocre in quality at best

I really see us having a 'second season under Zola' type campaign this year, I fear its going to be horrible

Yes, but you asked if he was left sided, and I said he's mostly played on the right.
