Harsh to get a straight red card for this ? A sign of frustration maybe sliding in like that catching the Sunderland player . https://twitter.com/GoalRushHQ/status/1709670060837458355 Mind you had we lost our heads by then with 5 bookings - likes of Bachmann and Hoedt (although he wasn’t booked ) are supposed to lead by example but are hot headed themselves .
You won't have to worry too much about that. I'd doubt he'd be able to play 3 full games in a row, albeit there's a two week break between a couple of them.
The only instruction our players retained in their pea-sized brains and carried out to the letter concerned the danger posed by Jack Clarke last night. Red for Andrews, yellow for Ngakia (and it was a certainty he would have got a second one had he not been subbed) and yellow for Porteous all for crude challenges on Clarke. Brainless stuff. No wonder Clarke was generally a bit subdued. So despite much evidence to the contrary our defenders occasionally listen to the coaching staff but don't have the wit or ability to counter such a threat without fouling them. That hopeless ref was a least consistent.
Was it a professional foul? Looked to me like he slid in and cleaned him out so red card for dangerous/ reckless challenge.
Facing an extra game ban ? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-man-andrews-charged-fa-behaviour-sunderland/
I personally think he should be considering a different career, he's clearly not suited to being a footballer. Terrorist, mercenary, hitman, SAS, Tory MP....
Disgraceful behaviour for a 19 year old to protest his first professional red card. Ban him until 2024.
I've only seen it once but didn't look like he spent an inordinate amount of time protesting. Weirdly the highlights now on YouTube don't show the sending off. From my recollection, he put his head in his hands in shock at the decision then wandered off looking a bit bemused. Does anyone remember him doing anything to the ref/looking aggressive/taking ages to leave the pitch?
I remember him grabbing the ref, lifting him fully above his head and then slamming him face-first into the turf. I admit I was only half watching by that point though.
Are you saying you saw out of one eye Mick McManus or Giant Haystacks, I thought wrestling was 4pm on Saturdays ITV, not 930 pm Wednesday evenings from Sunderland!
Lucky it was only a 4-match ban. I think he should have got at least the same punishment as Ivan Toney.
It's a good job players at the big PL clubs don't go around abusing officials every game, can you imagine the fines and bans they'd get from the FA?
Not wanting to speak for Andrew but he did write the following in the piece on Andrews' extra game ban earlier today... "The written reasons for the Commission’s decision will be published in due course."
Best player on the pitch today for me. Outrageous pace and so dangerous going forward, the perfect modern day full back. Superb finish for his goal, if he keeps improving at this rate we're going to get some very tempting offers in the summer.
The Plymouth commentary team were very impressed, mentioned at least three times how he was a very good player and had come up through our academy!
