Not definitely. In fact seen a different summary stating that report does say €. That would be about £18.5m and a much worse deal.
If true then that is about right, to be fair. The real issue is losing a genuinely quality player and only having utter dross like Manaj and Bayo to fall back on.
That’s about spot on for what’s realistic, unfortunately we’ve already spend the money on utter shyte.
Still reckon there's a chance Sarr will still be here in September, if not, I think the deal could well last all window
Translation: An agreement between all parties was reached - it will soon become clear in England that Nottingham will pay about 22 million pounds plus bonuses to Watford, converted more than 26 million euros. And Club Brugge is also reaping the benefits of that.
Vydra, Ighalo, Forestieri, Dennis, Richarlison, Deulofeu, Pereyra. You can name a dud for every one of those good attacking signings too I'm sure, it's how it goes. Hilarious that Bayo is on your list without a game played so far though lol!
£20m for a player who doesn't want to be here and is also a bad apple and also doesn't fit Rob's system and also isn't HG and also hasn't nailed down his preferred position and who Rob also personally requested we sell Expect our financial experts to now loan the transfer fee in advance from Macquarie Bank at a very reasonable rate of interest (interest rates are very stable don't worry) in order to reinvest the full amount in the playing squad or the 'infrastructure' Shrewd business all round
I personally wouldn’t count Bobby or Gerri as they were already known to be great players, we didn’t exactly discover them.
New yacht for Mogi off the back of this one. A quick look at the Belgian second division tells me that Dylan de Belder from Deinze or Kevin Hoggas from Waasland-Beveren, who both scored 9 goals last season, will be more than suitable replacements. Shall we say £4m each Mr Bayat?
It is funny how people are slagging off the Pozzo's ability to sign players on a thread of a player signed for £3m and then sold for £25m. Fully agree they make mistakes but Dennis an example of it working & the start of this thread is a good lesson in giving players a proper chance before writing them off as useless (cough Bayo cough).
Its totally different situations though, and I dont understand comparing them: Dennis was a risk, but at £3m it was a relatively small one for a premier league club. He had shown talent but was coming off the back of a poor season and reports of attitude issues. If he didn't work out, we had Sarr, Pedro, King and Cucho in that position already and we could just have taken the loss. Bayo cost us £5m, which is a pretty hefty fee for a championship club, and it is a truly astonishing fee for our 5th choice forward. He may well improve and go on to have a good season for us, but it is clear that he is not someone Rob Edwards wanted and even after a full pre season he is clearly not someone Rob Edwards rates that highly.
I agree with all that except it did sound like Edwards wanted a striker who was better in the air and strong enough to hold up the ball. Hence Bayo. The price however ...
Vydra, Ighalo and Forestieri were all players they had floundering on their books who had been unsuccessful at Udinese or elsewhere. They worked out for us, but they were wholly indicative of the scattergun approach of singing 10 and seeing what sticks. Deulofeu and Pereyra came from Juve and Barca and we paid fairly decent fees for both.We didnt discover them but they were good instances of us finding undervalued players. Joao Pedro, Dennis and Richarlison are the only real instances of us identifying young promising players and developing them at Watford for sale. The list of attacking duds blows this away - Success, Penaranda, Pussetto, Sinclair, Okaka, Carrillo, Niang, Fletcher, Ibarbo, Amrabat, Jurado, Zarate, Oulare, Diamanti etc. As above, Bayo cost us £5m, which is a pretty hefty fee for a championship club, and it is a truly astonishing fee for our 5th choice forward. He may well improve and go on to have a good season for us, but it is clear that he is not someone Rob Edwards wanted and even after a full pre season he is clearly not someone Rob Edwards rates that highly. If he was not connected with Bayat would we have gone near him at even half that price?
I guess it was likely he would go but surprised Dennis is keen on Forest . Might be another relegation battle ? Will we get a replacement in - doubt it ! And Sarr to go too ..
A number of those “attacking duds” in your list were short-term stopgap loans, others were initially promising but faded to nothing (hello Isaac) and the rest were truly hopeless. I’m sure there were others too: e.g Mario Suarez who stank the place out.
Wonder how much we were paying him? Reckon it can't have been more than £20k Forest will now no doubt have to triple that considering the fee
One of the best players of the Pozzo era is about to leave and most of the cahunts on here are celebrating, just fuccin lol.
Take the money and run get someone in who wants to put it all in for the team and wear the shirt can't wait for him to leave
One of the few last season that could say they performed near their maximum ability. How committed he was to the club I don't know, but I never suspected he wasn't trying. Fair play to him for being ambitious, he doesn't owe the club anything
Agreed , there goes our main goalscorer / chance of promotion walking out the door , my concerns about RE are growing if he sanctioned this. Immediate gain for Burnley If we are to revert to 352 I hope some of the Dennis cash will be spent on quality creative mid and a decent defender . I also note RE says he will give youth a chance ,great sentiment but that wont get promotion ,ah well rant over championship is more fun anyway etc etc!
Niang? Surely not the same Niang that signed on loan, basically secured our survival with a few massive goal contributions, then left? A dud??
Agreed - definitely chance we went down if he hadn't shown up that season. Won about 3 games single handedly.
That just isn't true. His only goals and assists came in two games. As you say, he won us those two games, but did sweet **** all outside of that and then slunk off before the season ended. Maybe dud is a little harsh, but I think you and WT are overstating his impact.
I wouldn't say Dennis was brilliant in the first game. He didn't score. One of the better players on the pitch for us in that game yes, brilliant not a word I would use.
RE would have known that D&S would likely be sold and is probably surprised it’s taken so long to exit just one of them.
Hate to remind ya, his replacement is already here. RE stating he will give youth a chance is arse kissing Fuxbury. They might have some desperate attempt to pull someone in on loan only to come out and say “ unfortunate to leave it to late in the window to get the deal done, we have Manaj and Bayo”. WTF 2 goals in the last 22 says different. He's not fit to clean Abdis boots. He's way down on a very long list of decent players.
