So you are now going with 'impressive' and agreeing he's posted good numbers - and dropping the 'average' tag?
And Zinckernagel has played a lot less football than a lot of the players who are above him in the metrics this season so hardly seems fair to compare him to them using total goals/assists...
More impressive than previously. Average numbers for a regular starter for a high-scoring side (imo), with some poor/anonymous performances and some good performances.
Yeah I'm only messing around as stats can be cut in different ways to back up an opinion, I know I've done it in the past. For what it's worth, I doubt we're a million miles away on our opinion of him. I think he will be useful enough in the Championship for us but is probably never going to set the world on fire. Forest fans seemed to love him at the start, then saw him as a bit of a luxury/inconsistent and now seem to quite like him again. If Cooper's got him playing better and pressing more then all the better for us.
Subbed at 68 minutes. As with the last game I saw of him against Muff he was very lively in the first half but faded really badly early in the second half. Although he still seems useful it's not ideal, as with Kucka he looks a player who is a guaranteed sub every time he starts. This discussion could be academic though, Forest look favourites to go up via the playoffs and they'll prob give us a bit of cash to make the deal permanent if they go up.
Not sure he faded really, they whole team were under the cosh so Cooper had to to something to stem the tide.
He was walking round the pitch before he was subbed. As with against Muff it seems one of the main reasons Forest were good in the first half but "under the cosh" in the second is because a few of the players can't keep up the first half workrate - and Zinc has seemed the biggest culprit of that. If you're playing like you have 10 men or fewer when the opposition have the ball because you're carrying a passenger it makes it more likely the opposition will take the upper hand.
Sheffield Utd were atrocious in the first half, they were always going to regroup and play better in the second half which is exactly what happened.
I'm not convinced Forest would sign him permanently if they go up, he seems like a very good Championship player, but I don't know if he's Premier League level. He seems to be a good fit for our #10 position, but if he were to leave, I wonder could either Cucho or JP fill that position?
He's completed 90 minutes 10 times out of 36 starts. 6 of which were in his first 7 starts. In his last 29 starts he's finished the match just 4 times. Does seem to be a flaw in his game, although could be a by-product of the amount of pressing he seems to do.
Zinckernagel has only completed the full 90 minutes 3 times in 20 starts for Forest this year (or as per WatfordTalk's post above which I've just seen only 4 times in his last 29 starts). I don't know why it's so difficult for you to wrap your head around the fact that Zinckernagel seems to fade quite a lot in the second half of games, I had my eye on him vs Muff and today and the drop off in energy levels was clear. It's possible for both Sheffield Utd to have played better in the second half and for Zinckernagel's energy levels to drop quicker than those of his other team-mates.
He still fades quicker than most of his team-mates who generally do a similar amount of pressing, and Edwards would be at least similarly demanding of the players next season.
Again, then why is Zinckernagel often the first player subbed? Why does he basically never complete a 90 minutes? Clearly their manager noticed the same thing about him. Even relative to the rest of his team-mates Zinckernagel was especially tardy.
I don’t care enough about Zinc to look this up, but it might be interesting for those more invested in this debate to see how many times they were winning when he came off. Feels like a bit of a luxury player at times, so it might follow that he’d be sacrificed as the game goes on, particularly if they are winning.
They made the point on the comms that he leads the press and is always top of the running stats which goes under the radar. I’m pretty sure him being subbed is a symptom of how Forest play, it’s not like they improved after he went off, and they've been far worse in the second half of the last three games I’ve watched them in.
Phuck off with your context, man! The forum has decided he’s shyte, and rousy has the heat map to prove it.
Ha, I've not said he's crap, but that he's basically always the first of their players to fade and get subbed.
You gave him 3/10 after half a season where he lead the assist stats for a team that came second in the table. That’s saying something pretty close to you thinking he’s ****!
Soooo, Forest potentially one game away from untold riches, more than enough to buy Zinck about 10 times over if they wanted! Would very much like to keep him, especially as there are whispers about JP going to Udinese, but if Forest were interested in him for the Prem, how much do you think they'd offer? I think at least £5m, reckon we could possibly squeeze £10m
Think that's a little optimistic, to be honest, myself. Even if they do want him, I can't see it being above 5m, if that - he's never played above Championship level, apart from anything else, and he turns 28 this calendar year.
