They have got one fantastic little player there. So much potential and a very good move for him and Copenhagen. Will look forward to seeing how it works out for him.
Another from the Kalu "school of hard knocks" - Swedish side Mjallby sign an "18 year old" Nigerian forward. Only problem is he's listed as being 24 in last years FM game (suddenly 17 years old in this years version) and he's listed in match reports from his university football team from 6 years ago (and you have to be 16 to attend that uni...) https://twitter.com/RasimReiz/status/1489359255287308298
If you mean do I feel the cold now I’m older, then yes. Probably not as much as old Samuel does though.
Scam is by the player - by pretending to be much younger than he is he can claim he's a "promising talent" rather than a player in their mid 20s that would otherwise stand no chance of getting the same move - as the move is likely based on their potential and further resale value than their actual current ability.
Yes, but never mind all the evidence, you are clearly a vile racialist for pointing this out.* *(according to Reddit)
I’ve never really got that, I mean I know it’s a bit of cliche/myth that African players fake their ages… but he genuinely looks nothing like 18 irrespective of race. We’d be saying exactly the same thing and laughing in the same way if it was a white player claiming to be 18 who looked about 40.
Not equivalent but his name is mentioned 10 times in the Bayat files, with suspicion around his age/papers being faked https://girondins4ever.com/breves/2...ansfert-de-samuel-kalu-aux-girondins-en-2018/
Wait, so it may actually very well be the case that it's legally proven that Kalu is years older than he says he is/is lying about his age in conjunction with Mogi?
I had thought Kalu looked about 35 and that was 6 years ago. I'd imagine he hit his peak 2 years ago putting him at around 32 now Planning for the championship in any case
Would just be a new level even by our standards if we've actually signed a 24 year old winger that's really 35.
Incroyable - obv it appears clear visually, but I just assumed it would be the same as all other cases like this in major leagues and remain in the realms of conjecture and the odd meme. If this gets exposed (which is probably a longshot), surely there's no such thing as a COG in the world after that point.
It's already exposed, it's being investigated as part of the big money laundering and other misc dodgy stuff in the Belgian football scandal.
Sure, by exposed I mean 'this is proven in a court of law and therefore Mogi inarguably sold us a false-age player for profit'- it's not, at this stage, right?
I read about this previously. It seems to be saying (as was my recollection) that Mogi faked an invitation/participation by Kalu in Nigeria’s u-21 squad. That could be seen as designed to mislead about his age but I understood that more as an attempt to overstate his credentials at the time than anything related to his age.
