The worst possible thing that could happen looks like it has happened. Xisco thinks 442 with Deeney is worth trying. Someone stop this ride I want to get off.
Deeney ,WTE and a load of squad players ? https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1420077776506261505
Bizarre. Poor form if Barnsley really did cancel just because they fancied playing City more, though I suspect there must be something more to it. I think we’ll find someone else to play, even if it’s just a training ground game.
Wonder if we knew about this in advance as we hastily arranged a game against Arsenal at the training ground
As for tonight - not quite sure what formation we’ll be lining up in, as nothing sane would accommodate all those players in their favourite positions. If it is 4-4-2 I hope we’re crap, Deeney embarrasses himself and we can put the bizarre notion that that’s a viable option to bed.
The squad is abysmal. Starting line-up Championship level and the bench is even worse. Looks like the only way we will have a chance of staying up this season is if Deeney gets injured. Also, where is Dennis?
Guess we’re playing arsenal tomorrow Ngakia, King, Mebude, Baah, Etebo on the bench, No Kaba, Sierralta, Morris, Cleverley, Dennis, Bachmann, Dahlberg, Pollock, Louza. Is Quina still injured?
Just get the ball up to big Troy and big Fletch and we will be fine. None of the pretty fancy stuff in the middle.
Morris is still a Trialist I think so maybe he is the one starting tonight. Did Dennis play at all at the weekend?
I just love the meltdown on here every time Deeney is picked. Good on Xisco. I hope he continues doing this, just for the reaction if nothing else. It's golden.
I guess when there’s any number of spurious friendlies floating about, there’s no real point judging any particular line-up just yet. But at what point do they put the strongest squad out and build cohesion? But I do agree on a broader sense - the depth of quality is abysmal. Hence why I don’t get wrapped up in wondering too much where a certain target will fit in right now. We need far more quality additions.
Wouldn't be the first time we've played a full back on the opposite side (also don't know enough about Morris, he could be pretty confident on either side for all I know).
Looks like a 3rd string team. Rubbish players, rubbish formation, rubbish opponent. Would get more out of playing the U23 at full strength. Or A vs B.
I'm guessing the Arsenal rumour must be true. That way we can play Bachmann, Ngakia, Masina, Sierralta, Kabasele, Cleverley, Louza, Etebo, Dennis, King, Baah and Sarr. Providing some of those don't play a significant part tonight.
Opps...and it cost £20 to go so people will be livid! I mean you could argue the last thing Troy needed was another game 3 days later when we have other options.
