It's becoming quite clear what our post-brexit transfer strategy looks like. No complaints from me

Can't be bothered to work it out but would be interesting to see how many of our 15/16 transfers would've qualified under the new rules. I assumed they'd go the way of experienced but cheap performers from top leagues in Europe but maybe that's not open to us anymore?

If we really are targeting young players from lower leagues/Scotland then we'll be on a far better financial footing if we go down next season. They're not going to bet the house on staying up, and nor should they.

Nice to see that youngsters with genuine potential are being signed. Exactly where we should have been in seasons prior. One or two hungry players with great resale value.

The obvious added benefit with homegrown talent is homegrown prices when we sell them on.

I know little about brexit affects on football transfers, but I assume we will simply loan more young players out to UK clubs now.?
I can see that working.... More clubs on the breadline, less money for transfers, more loans being done.? Also the players that do blossom wont come back needing 18 months to "get used to UK football and grimey weather"..

Has anybody mentioned he used to be a ball boy for Crystal Palace?

    I think there’s a video too.

Odd that you should mention this.
I had read about this matter on this very thread.
I mentioned it to Mr IBB.
    He remembered the match.
He hadn't read it on here however as he was praying to his plastic Mr Tumble figure as he's still convinced Palace will be relegated.
Every time I mention that this is impossible he looks at me sagely and says " remember Oldham" and starts to snivel.
    Poor man.

Does anyone know why he left CP? I understand from my source there was “a disciplinary issue”?

TBF in that incident he was trying to help Palace out ..

Seems harsh if that was the reason he got dumped.

Mind you look at the fuss they made over HH having a bit of fun .

He wears no22 at Rochdale. That’s big boots to fill. I’m hearing that we can offer him that shirt no, and a bottle of Baileys to sweeten the deal.

We showed Almen Abdi great disrespect by not retiring his shirt number. To compound it by then letting Success wear it beggars belief.

"The 18-year-old will join The Hornets on a five-year contract for an undisclosed six-figure fee.

Baah, who was due to be out of contract with Dale this summer, had been offered an improved deal to stay at the Crown Oil Arena, but indicated his desire to join the Vicarage Road side.

The undisclosed fee agreed with Watford is higher than the fee Dale expected to be due in training compensation, had Baah moved on as a free agent at the end of his contract."

From the Rochdale site, 6 figure fee.

Excellent business from the club. Looks very raw but a lot of potential to work with in the coming years. Glad Rochdale have got a decent amount from it as well.

Excellent first signing of the window. This is the sort of move we should be looking to make post brexit as well as some quality imports
