The only way Troy will go is if he asks to go! And if he does ask to leave I won't begrudge him doing so, but I would not be happy about it! Having said that, I don't think he will leave us for Leicester city; but if someone like Arsenal or Spurs came in for him that might be a different story :frown:
Every Football fan of other clubs who wonders why we don't accept Leicesters bids would do well to read this article it hits the nail on the head
That must have been written by a Watford fan, a journalist who has done thorough research (nah) or Gino Pozzo
I don't think there's much difference between £20m and £50m, as this transfer is not about the money per se. Whatever bid arrives, the board will consider a couple of questions - how can we replace this player? and do we want to replace this player? If we sold Deeney for £25m, you could split that into chunks and calculate the worth of the transfer to WFC - £6m to Walsall and £12m on a replacement forward, so £7m gain for losing our captain and soul is the real benefit, and that's not worth it - hence the rejection of the bid. If the new forward flops, you could spend another £5-12 million on replacing, so any profit from selling Troy is wiped out. And if that happens we get relegated and lose £100m so there's more risk associated with selling him than keeping him. Saying "can't believe Watford turned it down!" is like saying you should sell your house because someone offers you £300k for it, you'd have nowhere to live without re-investing in another house, you don't have £300k to party with, more so when you owe 20% (or much more) to pay off the mortgage. Having said that, if we do sell him I expect the only reason we'd do so is to get in one or two top class players which is probably what the board have been discussing; Who can we get, if we sell Deeney and get a top international forward in his prime for half the money it's worth considering. Success I doubt is a sole replacement for Deeney.
Mike Walters is (I think) either a Watford fan or is just extremely close to the club because he's done plenty of articles in the Mirror from a Watford perspective this season
Bassong, Townsend and French team selections Saido Berahino and sticker collections Owls and Blades when they play a match Pereyra, Allen, Sobhi, Fofana, Partey and Robson-Kanu All these things they're just disappointing All these things they're just disappointing compared to you There‘s nothing more beautiful than your smile as it conquers your face There‘s nothing more comforting than to know, know you exist in this team, in this place
Gino says he's not for sale and I am satisfied Leicester want those kind of things that money just can't buy I don't care too much for money, money can't buy you Troy Can't buy you Troooooyy Money can't buy you Troy Can't buy you Troooooyy No, no, no, no!
Telegraph saying the club will double his wages to £50k a week and that they're confident he'll stay after talks with Duxbury.
Great tweet by Troy He really is a hero Funny how a couple of days ago I had left for 30 million and today I'm signing a new contract if you don't know nothing keep quiet thanks
There's a shock. I didn't expect Duxbury and Gino to fly out to Orlando to have crunch talks with him whilst he's taking his kids to see Mickey Mouse. The clickbait ***** in the media are no better than the clickbait ***** with their little blogs and sob stories on Twitter.
Simon Mail over at the Watford Observer should be on his guard as well then... http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ontract_to_Leicester_City_target_Troy_Deeney/
Beat me to it! This is fantastic news, maybe this will put an end to Leicesters interest, not that I thought he would ever want to join them!
