How incredibly short sighted of them. No wonder the likes of Gomes has hit out at Tottenham. Kaboul £10m? Do one. He'll now rot in their reserves for another year.
If I was the Pozzos I'd pay £5m for Capoue but Kaboul is slow and injury prone and will command high wages and therefore I think we can get better for that amount of money.
Transfermarkt, who are still highlighting a possible return og David Faraoni, are now also linking Troy with a move to Spurs. Difficult to imagine, but may make sense of Levy's posturing if we have again turned down a bid or exchange offer that is thought to exceed the £10-12m mark for our boy. As ever, no source given, and if there is any truth in it, I imagine it is from Spurs and not us, or at least I hope so. Though it is difficult to think that we will be parting with so many crisp fifties should we be interested in these three players and some exchange may be logical (if it wasn't Troy). Is there anyone else they may be interested in? PS, If Faraoni turns up at the end of the month, I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe snatch Troy and hide him somewhere safe.
A pal of mine is a big spurs fan. He says we can have all 3 for £7.50 and a good quality bottle of wine.
That would be the last remaining bottle from the Lafitte founding first growth at £10m (actually £15m, but the Pozzos want to maintain 30% ownership).
Source is the Mirror, by the way. Much rather Capoue than Paulinho but close to £11m is pretty steep. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...949?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
So on the mini league of shxt Spurs midfielders we are trying to sign, where does Capuoue come? (Top being least shxt, bottom being most shxt)
Looks the absolute business here, although it is a couple of years ago.
We haven't thrown any yet.... So it's now anyone with an Italian-ish name.... And anyone from Spurs lol
Stambouli, Capoue, Paulinho might as well sign another quality midfielder from spurs and go after Holtby to compete with Abdi. If we pull this off and play a 4-2-3-1 just think about the 2 holding midfielders rotating between AG, Stambouli, Capoue and Paulinho. That would be some center midfield, would also cost us about £30mil which would never happen but one could dream.
Daily Mail today says we have enquired and he is one of the options we are considering but talks are not advanced
Daily Mirror says he's told his mecs that he is coming here. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfers-etienne-capoue-set-5942949 Apparently it is now necessary to post a translation: Watford è vicino a completare la firma di Etienne Capoue - con i compagni di Tottenham centrocampista del francese Paulinho anche ricercati lista dei calabroni . Mirror says they want to recoup the £11m spent on him. Except it wasn't £11m. It was €11m. ****ing idiots.
Capoue is set for a medical on Tuesday according to Amy Christophers who works for EDS Sport (basically Teamtalk).
