Jennings was starting to find his feet in a stuttering side. His age and the potential he showed prompting the move from Tranmere to Bayern surely would make him a good shout. Not sure he would he would make much of a Wing back thou
Barnsley fans reckon Jennings was one of their only positives this season, and it's likely he'll be off. Has 2 years left on his contract. How much would he cost?
He is dog**** seriously Was the worst player on the pitch when we played them at the Vic and is not rated at all by their fans Big and strong but i've seen sunday league players with more technical ability
Chris Hughton is a ridiculous suggestion. Dale Jennings might be a decent player in a Barnsley side who were one of the worst teams I've honestly ever seen but judging from the last few windows, he's not exactly what we'll be going for in the summer.
Well he's out of contract this summer. He hasn't been fit for three years, looks uninterested when he plays, moans to the media about a manager who everyone else at the club loves and speaks as though he's Paul McGrath after he does get a rare game.
The only reason he stood out for me was that he was awful. He sliced his first touch of the ball out for a corner and got out-muscled by O'Nien!
I'd like to see some promising, but untested Italians and a journeyman Brazilian please. I'd like to give the whole season another try.
Sad really isn't it, our defence is **** and yet we have 2 players going to the World Cup.... Lucas Neill and Belkalem... Both can't get into our team..... Wonder what would ve happened if we played 442 and stuck them 2 in the middle together. (Alright I know they re tosh) but its very very evident that ball playing defenders are nice to watch but have been our weakness this year in the mixer ! the lack of a Richard Dunne type to just scare and clatter anything that comes close to them.. and anything after the 80th minute ... PUT SOME SNOW ON IT !
Just like Sako, who was one of Wolves' only bright points when they got relegated - we would've all taken him and he's older and not homegrown.
I do think the value for English players probably comes from teams who have been up for a season and avoided relegation, who are looking to replace their very good Championship players with Premiership quality ones. He's got great feet but people are already complaining that our midfield is lacking presence, and Williams falls down when the wind blows. Personally I'd like a defensive midfielder, one in the mould of Joey Barton without being a massive ****, or like Diakite but without being ****. This would allow us to protect the back 4 when they are under pressure and to allow Toszer and Abdi to push forward when we need a goal, as well as stopping those pesky long balls between the midfield and defence. Although if Abdi is going to be injured for most of the season again, he would be a very tidy signing. I do have quite an interest in youth football, and I'd love to get James Wilson on loan from Manchester United. He looks absolute quality and would be a great Vydra replacement if he decides to be a **** and not come back. Homegrown too, although I think every team in the division will be after him, if he doesn't go straight into their first team squad.
So you need a midfielder with class and ability but also steel and experience. I've got two words for you my friends......... Gary Fisken.
There are a lot of United fans yelling for him to play before the end of the season (he made the bench a few weeks ago), as when he starts he nearly always scores at least one in the U21's. Saying that, he's certainly not good enough to start for United (probably Championship quality right now), but they may decide to be careful, monitor him and introduce him gradually to first team football, like they have done with Januzaj. It is very easy to get carried away with youth level footballers, but he seems the real deal. Even at this stage of his development, he seems quite akin to Matty Vydra, although he is taller, stronger and (amazingly) quicker.
I'd like to see us sign Jadson. He's a 20 year old Udinese defensive midfielder and he's never played a competitive game for them.
He is and I'm going to bet he has a video that clearly indicates his muscles are wildly out of kilter.
In terms of us bolstering our defence I'd love to see us try and pinch Harry Maguire from Sheffield United.
How, in the name of all that's holy, did you think he was good against us? He was stand-out only because he fell over the ball twice when it wasn't even in play and portraying absolutely zero technical ability whatsoever. Headed it as far as he could or kicked it into touch. Not for us.
Right Hogan is a done, not sure he can replace Deeney though. Looking forward to seeing if Uche can step up.
