I'm only guessing, but I reckon it may have something to do with struggling to get a game with his current employers and a chance of making a good impression on our season,oh and we both have the same owners so it makes sense to me.
Are you having a laugh mate Doyley would get destroyed in those leagues... 1.) He has No Pace 2.) He Cannot Pass (which La Liga and Seri A use a lot) 3.) This season will not get even in to our first team I beleive so how could he get into teams better then ours? 4.) Backs off from every player running at him leaving so much gaps for the attacker to run into and cause us danger :dismay:
I thought you said you were going to be sensible? If there's one thing that you can't take away from Doyley it's his ability in one on one situations against opposition wingers. He is without a doubt one of the best one on one full backs in the league when it comes to this. Also, his pace isn't much of an issue and would most likely be less of an issue in Italian and Spanish leagues.
We have Garner, Iwelumo, Deeney and now Geijo with Massey and Assombalonga in the wings. Not exactly a strong attacking force.
comments from a Udinese fan on their forum: "Wow, Gejio played in Udine for only few month, but is a good, a very good players!!! With Abdi e Gejio.... it seems that Pozzo wants to bring Watford in Premier League in one years!! and also Vydra, i think is a good palyers for the future."
With Drew here, we definitely are still in the market for a permanent striker. Although that does make me think Zola may not be totally impressed with Beleck or the fitness of Vyrda, that or he's going to get shot of Garner.
This guy look like he could be very good. It seems that the Pozzos cartel want us promoted straight away. And wouldn't it be soooo great if we also did the double over Cardiff
Yeah, no kidding. The Barca lob was beautiful, and the 5:20 goal was fantastic. This guy will make a huge difference for us, I'm sure.
http://vimeo.com/24886437 Wow, just wow. Did I just watch a peach of a lob v Barcelona? This guy looks prem quality, I'd say Posso's making a very clear statement what they want and expect
He looks like quite similar to Danny Graham in some ways, not brilliant in the air but certainly knows where the net is and looks like he is a decent poacher - looking forward to seeing him play.
Agree with JB. For all his faults you don't see Doyley getting done in a 1 to 1 situation nor do you ever see him getting done for pace
I've just looked at his record. His 29 and scored goals in somewhat less quality leagues than the championship. If Nani thinks that the Spanish, Turkish, Mongolian or ALbanian 2nd divisions are as competitive or are of the same quality as the championship then they may have seriousley under estimated things
Luckily you seem to have been looking at the wrong player, since coming through he's only played in Spain or Serie A. Scoring at the Bernabeau in a competitive league game strikes me as a decent enough level. I'd also argue although certainly different, you cannot say the Spanish 2nd division is of a lower quality than the Championship, Barcelona B struggle to make the top 6 most years, that team would **** all over the Championship.
