Looking at fouls given against a team is half the story.

How many have each team bought for what weren't offences at all would be far more interesting.

For the record we've had players who've dived, which I've never liked or wanted, but it's not part of our gameplan, and I don't remember us pressuring refs for decisions to get players sent off.

 

I'm over 60 and have seen us play the filth home and away, nothing comes close to it in my opinion - I detest them. I've also been to games against the muffins and it's like a Buckingham palace tea party by comparison.

Since my original post, my feeling hasn't changed that I dislike Bournemouth significantly more than Luton.

 

Nope. Still don't care less about Bournemouth. It's annoying the way they behaved and it was disappointing to lose but if we lost the scum I would be gutted for about week. When we had fans at games there was never any real animosity to each other which is definitely not the case when we play the scum. I imagine there are quite a few people on here and in our fan base who have never been to a scum game but I can assure you nothing comes close

 

Bournemouths current team culture and players (I'm not sure I'd recognise a Luton player if he were sat next to me right now)

Luton's fans without any question.

The Bournemouth one will die out slowly, whereas the Luton one will always be there.

To me there is no comparison between the two.

Loo Town is and always will be our rivals. No one will or could ever take their place imo.

As I said before Muff is a social media led rivalry which I have no idea how it come about. They're just another team who mean absolutely nothing to me.

Is it fair to say that at the moment I hate Bournemouth more, but the difference is in 5-10 years is likely Bournemouth will be irrelevant to us and I will no longer care about them. I will always hate Luton, but we haven't had much to do with them in the last 10 years, so the rivalry has become slightly less fierce?

 

Bournemouth are the enemies of fair play, justice and football in general.

However, Luton are the enemies of Watford.

 

Exactly - whilst we have some history with muff it is not even close - having been on a 321 bus ambushed by scum fans in North Watford (after they won!) and chased back to the car in Luton after the 4-0 win at their place - nothing comes close

Muff are no more now than say Swindon or Bristol Rovers in the 60's / Gillingham or Northampton or even Shrewsbury in the 70's - just a team we play a lot in important games - but not rivals

Jesus wept this is this an actual question or are you on the wind up? Personally I like and respect Bournemouth for what they've achieved over the past decade. Gamesmanship is a part of the game.

Luton on the other hand are the epitome of scum. They are a sh*tty, vile club with **** supporters. If it wasn't for covid I would be travelling to Luton on the 17th of April as if a war was about to take place. The rivalry will never die because of the nature of their fanbase. Our two clubs & towns are opposites and that's why the rivalry still exists.

Until last night I have to admit that lines were becoming blurred between the scum and the muff, but things are much clearer now IT'S THE SCUM!!!

I regret saying this, I take much pleasure when they lose now and I hope they struggle for years to come.

Overall, it's always going to be Luton, if I walked through Bournemouth with a Watford shirt I'd probably get no bother, if I did so in Luton I wouldn't be surprised to get my head kicked in.

I enjoy the more friendly, almost one sided, rivalries (if you can call them that) with teams like Palace/Zaha and Bournemouth.
