I think they're just terrified of losing a player on a free, which is horribly ironic considering we had to release Janmaat at some expense. At least with Janmaat we were a Prem club at the time and probably naively assumed we'd continue to be so, and at least he was actually good when he did play, I just don't get Ngakia at all
I think it's a remnant of their philosophy from Udinese. Except we have been so crap at selling fringe players, probably because we don't improve many players.
Depends who gets the final say on the new contract. Bit alarming to see Val talking him up so much in the press ahead of last Saturday.
I don't think this logic holds anymore. Outside the Premier League very few English clubs really spend money and certainly not at the level Ngakia would be attracting interest from. He's a bottom ten Championship/League 1 player. If he has signed a new four year contract, over the course of that we'll pay wages that are many times what we could ever achieve in a transfer fee for him (I would guess about £500k tops?).
If Dennis can produce moments of magic we win. If he is poor, we lose. It's that simple. Copy and paste this into every match thread until the end of the season. We're utter dung you see.
As someone currently spending their evenings with no wifi or phone signal (long story), is this on some LW / MW frequency radio station somewhere?
Really, surely you can bring in your own mars bar, if you don’t like the prices charged at the catering outlets?
Our performances have dropped off a cliff since he arrived though. I'm not convinced it's as simple as that.
103.8FM (Zouches Farm, near L*ton), 104.5FM (Bow Brickhill, near Milton Keynes), 630 kHz MW (Lewsey Farm, near L*ton) are the Three Counties frequencies. Not sure if it will be on though...
I agree. For whatever reason we're now appalling, it may well be due to his signing, but it's impossible to say for certain. But what is certain is that we're now dreadful and only flashes of genius can save us (I suppose Asprilla could pull off the odd blammo goal, but we need more than that).
Of course the logic is flawed, but they aren't used to owning a **** team in a league with no money, maybe in years gone by some bang average Champo side would have paid something stupid for Ngakia, but those days are over
We have been crap on Tuesdays recently, and changing to Wednesday is cheaper than changing the manager. If this doesn't work we'll try red shorts next match.
Dismayed by the presence of Porteous and Lewis, until I realise we don't have anyone else who wouldn't dismay me. (Although that's a lie because I'd always rather have Sierralta despite his own drop in effectiveness).
Don't actually hate Porteous coming back in, our CBs are much of a muchness overall, but Hamer hasn't done much wrong to lose his place, and I'd rather Kayembe or Chak over TDB
No, it's tactical, the booming shout of 'AWAY!' will deafen the Swansea lads leaving them unable to communicate
Awful manager throws more **** at the wall to see if it sticks. He’ll get lucky again one of these days.
One clanger dropped from Hamer causes Hamer to be dropped. That's quite a big surprise. The other big surprise is TDB in midfield; even with Kayembe and Kone having been poor in recent games I'm surprised he's selected ahead of them (as well as Chak). Regardless we should still have enough in that team to put in a decent performance so long as we don't crap the bed as we did at the start of the Millwall match.
Val has officially lost the plot. What’s the logic in dropping Hamer who’s been one of our best players this season? The Andrews fan club will be happy, as will his old man. Hopefully he’ll stop his hysteric tweeting.
