He hasn't seen us attacking lately then.

    Mind you no one has

They probably will leave us behind. We're outperforming, they are probably underperforming (certainly based on recent weeks). I have no sympathy for their billionaire owners. My point was the club is a decent club; the current ownership stinks

I don't have a problem with our ownership per se

The owner has invested and backed the judgement of the management

Where he has really failed is in his appointments - Koeman and Walsh in particular were disastrous choices. Allardyce was an embarrassing choice but perhaps understandable at the time. Even Silva was his choice, because the current DoF wasn't in place at the time. The hope is that the new DoF is now trustworthy enough to spend the money - unfortunately he has to unpick the mess the previous regime left behind first. From an Evertonian perspective, it's frustrating that we haven't got it right so far but similarly I wouldn't swap Moshiri for someone less prepared to invest. We went along for 20 years without any investment and, as well run as we might have been in some ways at the time, the glass ceiling meant we would never progress properly. AT least this way the money and new stadium etc will give us a realistic chance of cracking it, even if there have been a few false starts along the way

From a neutral POV I can see why we'd be less likeable these days.

I am sure you are still popular than we are with Bournemouth and Palace fans !

They latter want Deeney banned for his little pot shot at you guys earlier in the week .

Quite frankly after last week I hope our players do make an effort and put a foot in ..

Ok not to get sent off ofcouse but apart from Capoue most of our players are actually pretty lightweight and not "thugs"

That's something I never understand people saying about Watford. Bournemouth and Wolves are darlings even with mega spending. Watford are hated despite in my eyes doing nothing other than surviving and thriving.

Watford arent hated. They are just a non-entity. It's ridiculous to think that anyone (apart from those ****s up the road) could have such strong feelings about a tin pot club like WFC.

Pundits and opposition fans of teams in the premier league view us in the same way as we view a team like morecambe or cheltenham (or whatever).

I don't mind Bournemouth at all, apart from their criminally small ground which makes away tickets like gold dust. Wolves - nah, there's something about the Mendez thing which doesn't sit right and makes me dislike them for some reason. Watford have been my 2nd team for a long time, so I'm not really impartial on that one.

Loving the typical arrogance of Everton. "If he doesn't sort it we'll probably just pop down to Watford and take their next promising manager as and when we see fit!"

God, I really hope we smash them tomorrow.

Exactly. Seeing Watford are next in the fixture list must strike the fear of god into opposing managers, imagine losing to us. The bigger the team or manager the more the effect it will have. A loss would mean over-analysis of all of your errors and leave you open to hilarious media headlines.

    Fairly easy money then.

If we win it’s all gravy. If we don’t put 10 on us and it’s covered your ticket

Watford fans love being satisfied with draws.

Man City - "would take a draw"
Everton - "would take a draw"
Huddersfield - "would take a draw"
Bushey Rangers Under 11's - "would take a draw"

Lineker hates us through GT. Thats a pretty strong hate to hold since the nineties at a time neither had anything to do with Watford.

I see the media selective hearing is in full force today!

Deeney gives a graceful answer (for him!) in saying fans shouldn’t lay into Silva, Rich or Everton but signs off with a cheeky comment that was meant more tongue-in-cheek than anything - I was 5 yards away when he said it, it was obvious.

But of course context doesn’t sell papers or make good click-bait.

Genuinely think Troy gave a very good account of himself the other night - and I’ve been critical of his outspoken nature in the past. It’s a shame that I think this ‘non-story’ means more diplomatic members of the squad will be asked in the future.

As for Saturday - gutted to be missing it. The one game I’ve wanted to attend all season but I’m in NYC for work. Some consolation I guess!

    3-0. Comfortable.

Arrived at the salubrious Premier Inn, Croxley earlier. Father-in-law greeted me warmly, before declaring "that snake is getting it tomorrow"

    Post on GOT.

"I've told this story before,so if youre bored, move on. Many years ago,I was working in Watford, staying at a pub in town. Watford happened to have a friendly match against Wolves because Wolves had just bought a player from them, and the friendly was part of the deal. Elton John actually turned out for Watford, for the first 30 minutes...touched the ball half a dozen times, but Wolves were obviously not going to tackle him. After the game,I go to a pub for a beer, I'm standing at the bar, and this short guy in a nice suit comes next to me and orders a drink. Elton John. Before he was a world superstar. Had a brief chat with him about comic books...that was my business at the time, then he went to the piano in the corner of the pub, played a couple of tunes and left. That's all."

For all I know this story may be 100% true, but this game took place on 7 May 1974 - it's arguable that SEJ had already peaked by then.....
