The final home game v Newcastle is our last chance for a league ‘double’ over anyone this season. The last team we beat home and away was Aston Villa under Flores. Before that the last time we failed to do it was in Boothroyd’s PL season in 2006/7.

But two counter points to that. You need determination to succeed just as much as ability in the PL. For me, 11 players giving their all will come out on top more times than not against a team packed with ability but littles desire.

And Dyche would never be in charge of us. It wouldn’t work for either party.

Agreed, but my point is, I guess, that successive managers have failed to get the maximum out of our players, in some cases because they’re flaky/ not up for the fight etc, it’s true.
I don’t buy the line that he couldn’t manage us and vice versa, but as you say, it ain’t going to happen.

Talking of Cheeky Sandwich Florist, I see he's been sacked today

I was going to post something else too, but I can't remember what it was as I've had a beer.

BTW I'll be having beers a plenty tomorrow, so as usual, apologies if I see anyone I kmow and ignore you, or p1ss anyone off with my drunken ramblings

    Cheers

I did the only thing I could possibly think of to get a Watford result.

I heavily backed Palace. Not sure I’ve won a Watford bet in about 20 attempts, so I’m feeling fairly confident about a Watford draw.

But the real cost of this cultural smorgasbord is plainly more than £1.

The hire of the rooms alone will dwarf that.

    Where’s the subsidy coming from?

Would be a shame to finish in drop zone.

Has anyone else realised that we are not yet safe?

I've run out of ideas on superstitious claptrap.
The carrots are going to the ponies in Letty Green on my way to the club.
The lucky socks and underwear are a thing of ancient history.
I have no method to cope with the relentless histrionics of Zaha and pals.
    We're done for.

Don’t the last 7 pages make it obvious?!

I can potentially see a draw if Zaha is off his game. But the signs are that he won’t be and I’m sad to say I’m not at all hopeful after the past few weeks.

Before I set off to the Vic, a quick message to lovable Javi. If we’re going to get anything from this game we have to double up on Zaha, stop him and we have a great chance. Don’t make the same mistake you made at Liverpool when your tactics let Salah run riot.
Oh, while I’m at it, a quick message to our players. Any chance you could look like you give a **** about this wonderful football club of ours? Kick off your ******* flip flops and give us 100%

    Therefore we will win.

    Thank me after the game.

This is actually the game I was looking forward to most after Bournemouth, which admittedly isn't saying much, less so after recent results.

But it's usually a pretty intriguing contest if not necessarily a classic in an end-to-end attacking sense, our teams being quite different in style, and unpredictable, with no two Palace vs Watford matches being the same, and the fact they're fighting for their lives in a local-ish fixture adds a bit of spice. Though the fact they rarely come away from the Vic empty-handed is a bit of a concern...

Threw out my lucky yellow and black sox after last week’s debacle and my lucky 1881 brand aftershave is finished.
I won’t be wearing any yellow or have any lucky charms on my person this afternoon.

Given up on the whole concept of luck, superstitious omens, premonitions and charms and won’t be using the family sangoma to cast spells on the opposition again.

Against Palarse we’ll now just have to rely on the skill and foresight of our coach and the skill, fitness, intelligence and concentration of our players.

The omens aren’t looking good :(

We have one win in last 11 league games stretching back to 2002 and that was in 2009 under Mr Integrity-Don Cowie scored.

    Surely something has to change

Why not? We're at home palace are below us and have one half decent player who will get frustrated at not winning penalties. I predict Will Hughes hat trick of assists.

I need their good muti* after yet another hornets f up and get the throwing of the bones and bad-ass muti to try to f up the opposition.

They’ve been useless lately so sacked them all, although we could hire them as WFC’s answer to the the Palarse Eagles dancing girls troupe. :D

We beat them at their place 3-2 with a Vydra special opening game of the season 2012 and 2-1 in 2016.
Long time since a home win.
