I have checked out this season in terms of writing any in-depth previews. So just going to list a few things instead. Defence. Oh dear. Gracia's tactics/line-up. Oh dear. Deeney. Oh dear. Zaha's diving and annoying brilliance. Woy. Oliver Grove Only thing that will make the week leading up to this game more enjoyable is if Highgrade makes an appearance on the forum.
Cor. I wonder if we can possibly predict what will happen in this game? Such a head scratcher isn't it. Palace are our Bogey team. Zaha, the talented little **** always scores against us. Brace for him. We don't score goals and don't defend well. Okaka on at 65 mins Forum melts down. 0-3
Easy to joke about - but Milivojevic has scored 9 penalties this season, missing only 1 (against Man City in injury time). If I were Karnezis or any of the staff on the GK coaching team, I'd be studying each of those spot kicks in order to be as prepared as possible should the inevitable happen. Benteke had a very tame effort saved by Gomes in the same fixture last season. What with his excellent record from 12 yards, maybe a good idea to recall Heurelho for this match given the likelihood of Zaha slipping over in the box? 0-2 Palace
javi "nice but dim" gracia will stand gurning on the sidelines and forget to zip his tracksuit top up. Again.
0-3 Deeney shots 1, won headers 0, touches 7, bookings 1 Gracia "Football is cruel to us in this moment.....Deeney is my leader......disappointed in this moment........will learn from each game....."
Even without Zaha they would beat us. Our players have the balls of a pubescent boy, Deeney’s being the smallest of the lot. No fight, no determination, no spirit, no willingness to grit their teeth and do the hard and dirty work. Our players live in fantasy land with unicorns, rainbows and fluffy clouds. They give up at the slightest push back from another team and crumble like an apple pie does, with whipped cream, ice cream, and cream, while Deeney is eating it. It’s all very pathetic, gut wrenching and depressing watching our so called players jog around for 90mins while having their pants pulled down and given a good spanking. I expect Palace to do to us what most of the league has already done and that is beat us. They will be right up for it and our players just simply won’t be. Palace will score, heads will drop and I fully expect us to lose at least 4-0. The line up is predictable. Gracia is incapable of making any surprise tactical changes so Palace will already know what to expect. I went shopping last weekend, goodness knows what I will do this weekend, maybe go in a shark cage. At least when I’m yelling and screaming in terror, it’s for something worthwhile, unlike watching our lot at the moment.
If there was one thing more predictable than that **** Tom Ince coming on to score the winner last weekend, it's that diving **** Zaha destroying whichever one of our terrible-at-defending full backs is marking him. Tough afternoon for Daryl Beermat.
Blimey, I know it’s not been great but we have been mid table all season. Sounds like you support West Brom
Going out on the piss and having a laugh with your mates at the football v walking around tk maxx with the missus. Tough choice.
If Zaha picks up an injury between now and Saturday, we have a good chance of winning this game. If Zaha plays, that chance is reduced considerably. They are a one man team, but that guy can destroy us, as he always seems to. There's no doubt we can score against them. They are almost as bad as us defensively. I'll go for Watford 2 Palace 3. Another late goal as we crumble in the final minutes when they push and get the winner.
Chalobah to make a surprise start. Chalobah goes off injured with torn knee ligaments in the first minute. Deulofeu in a surprise return as the substitute. Deulofeu down with a broken leg following a collision with Troy Deeney's UberEats driver in the second minute and refuses to be treated with leeches and witchcraft by the medical team. Air ambulance arrives and lands on Tom Cleverley, who is making a surprise return. Cleverley ruled out for anywhere between two weeks and a decade. Zaha, who is relentlessly booed by thick Watford fans despite it having the complete opposite effect to what they intend, goes on to score eight goals despite being pursued round the pitch by Troy 'Pacman' Deeney mistaking him for lunch. Okaka comes on at 70 minutes and is sent off for elbowing himself in the head. Despite the result, many Watford fans describe their performance as 'excellent' but sadly 'let down by a bad defence'. Gracia says 'lessons will be learnt' and uses the phrase 'in this moment' 76 times in the port match interview. He retains the support of many Arsenal fans who don't want their second team to sack another coach irrespective of his ability or skill. Tough afternoon for The Hornets.
Good analysis but missing information on what posters on this forum will think of our relegation chances after the match. I’d rate them at about 50/50.
We're not that bad at home under Gracia, plus Palace are poor defensively. I'd be surprised if we didn't score at all.
Cheer up everyone. The season is nearly over. Unemployment is at its lowest level since 1975. The weather is set to improve. We will be entertained this summer by the 4 yearly comedy farce that is the World Cup England team. And this Saturday at the Vic our benevolent football team will graciously help guarantee we can all be entertained by a lovely, leggy, scantily clad troup of pretty cheerleaders at the Crystal Palarse next season. 1-2 (So even more good news, I can feel it in my bones we WILL score a goal - yea).
Hasn't he been playing in more of a central role for Palace? God help us if Zaha is against Prodl then! Townsend is bound to get one - not very popular here so would love to score.
As a student I worked in a hospital and when we had extremely obese people come in , the orderleys had to clean them . Part of the job was scubbing in between the rolls of flab and they would often find mould/bacteria growing in there. I think this is something TD9 (tonnes) needs to be aware of.
Who knows what will happen Heart thinks 0-0 till the 90th min , free kick to palace deep in their own half which they score from Head thinks 0-0 till the 90th min , free kick to palace deep in their own half which they score from Would like to see 2up front to see if we look good , would also like to see chalobah back - but doubt if either will happen Don’t really care what happens now, we will either stay up or go down (and I’ll win 750) - probably not the right attitude
think we should sing "You're just too good for us" as soon as Zaha does something half decent. On the bright side its one game nearer the end of the season and only 180 minutes more to boo the lads.
The thought of Zaha and Townsend against Janmaat/Holebas/Zeegelaar/Mariappa gives me chills. But if I was a neutral, I’d find it utterly hilarious.
Seeing as Zaha will be leaving Palace next season to one of the big boys, we could sing “he’s just too good for you” before they do. Always nice to get the first jab in.
Watching Brighton giving spurs a game. Why can’t we do that? We won’t even score there, we can’t even beat prem minnows or give them a game. We will lose about 4-0
