His response will be: "Seen out another coach....job done"

I suspect Ivic knew the preceding 90 mins was the writing on the wall, Deeney, Xisco or not.

Or when he told Deeney he wasn't playing and Troy went running to Pozzo.

I have a good relationship with Mr.X. We get along well and he's a great coach. Generic response. He wields undue influence at the club and probably thinks the fanbase idolize him. Well he needs to understand while we appreciate his efforts and he is probably one of the best strikers we have had though behind Luther and Cliff he does not run OUR club. Not his.

As he himself said chairmen, directors, managers, players come and go. The sole constant are the fans. So do us a favour and give your genuine backing to the coach and not throw childish strops when you do not get picked.

This is the really concerning aspect.
How many of us have faith in Gino to get it right?
Time to put his hand in his pocket and pay for a proper coach or failing that ask SEJ to chip in as he was so anti Vlad.

I don’t think Ivic is a bad coach. His record before us says that.

But he’s been largely unsuited to the situation he walked into. And rather than adapt, he’s tried to make everyone else adapt to him. Was he wrong to do that? Maybe not actually. But was always going to end this way and has been obvious for a number of weeks.

A sacking should surprise no one. Sadly, we aren’t in a position to hold a stronger inquest. The words that came from the owner and Duxbury in the summer should have come with bigger and more tangible actions. The inquest should have been held in the summer - yet Ivic has turned out to be nothing more than a band aid over a stab wound.

Mixed feelings, but if I had to say whether to stick or twist, I would hesitantly twist.

Ivic on the face of it was the right choice and up until the game today I would have said stick. I don't like how often we hire and fire now but his style of play with the players we have do not gel. I like what he says and generally how he sets up makes sense after a very difficult start where he acquited himself well. Defensively we are very solid, albeit with a defence that at this level should be.

However offensively we are massively under performing where he will not let go of the handbrake and let us play. Today we were 2-0 with a shambolic performance 30 minutes in playing 3 atb and offensively looking rancid. WTE picks up a hamstring injury and he brings on another CB. We had 3 or 4 offensive options on the bench. He doesn't make another sub until the 70th minute. 2-0 down.

I will say that I think some of our players (Deeney, Capoue, Gray. Perhaps Sarr if I'm being harsh) should have moved on for their own good this year afor their own reasons and is a factor but also that Ivic is not doing himself any favours either. I would be happy if the former were moved on first than the latter.

Do I think Ivic is a good manager? Yes. Do I think he suits our players and the play style needed to unlock their potential? No.

I think that has become increasingly obvious over the last couple of seasons. It has been there longer but success on the pitch papered over the cracks, the last eighteen months have simply brought it to the fore.

I'm not so sure it will be. He's got a job on the radio and his behaviour has been called out by the manager. This hasn't happened before. He's bound to be questioned on the issue. It all depends on whether Troy is professional (lol) enough to keep his gob shut.

It's the old Brian Clough quote isn't it, if as a chairman you are sacking the manager you should also take a long hard look at yourself as you appointed him.

I liked a lot of what Ivic stands for. In an ideal world he sounds great. But the proof is in the pudding. We offer nothing going forward. With him it's all about clean sheets and nothing else. You can't get promoted if that's all you're going to do.

Players will buy into it for a while, but in the end they will decide for themselves if he's going to work out or not. Today we all saw senior players in action trying to get rid of a coach they don't like.

This is not COG talk, but I think Ivic was precisely the right appointment. On paper it was ideal, but in reality it hasn’t worked out. We haven’t got the players to suit his system, the players we have got are mentally weak, and the main issue has been his inability to adapt to this and the league itself. He’s been too stubborn to change a system when it was quite clearly overkill against so many weak teams and when without fans, playing away was an irrelevance.

You can’t blame the owners for the latter part because hitherto he’s been extremely successful, so any evidence of stubbornness wouldn't have been evident.

The frustrating thing is he’s precisely what we needed as far as not taking **** from any of the players, but sadly his ability is short of what we need.

Offering nothing going forward wasn't actually true all the time. Just a lot of the away games. It was the home form that kept us in the top 6 mostly.

Useless coaches like Ivic are what happens when our players and fans hound out good coaches like Gracia. Absolute ****s.

Agree with all this. We set him up to fail by providing him with an unbalanced squad, stuffed with unmotivated, weak-minded players who think they are better than they are.

But, he also needed to show signs of adapting, and I can’t help but think there were players he gradually lost support from because we played such an uninspiring style of football. I think this has been exasperated as influential members of the dressing room began to reintegrate.

We started quite optimistically, and in fairness to Ivic, there were some signs of more fluid football developing, however that has completely disappeared and he has failed to develop our style of play in any meaningful, progressive way.

I think the likes of Capoue, Gray, and Deeney have no business wearing the shirt again, and wield far too much influence over the dressing room and club as a whole.

Club leadership failed to remove the toxic elements during the summer, which makes me feel as though this was almost inevitable.

Very few of the home games offered an abundance of attacking threat. We scored goals but it wasn’t always pretty or through methodical attacking. But yes, better than the away fare, that’s for certain.

I think we were winning home games in spite of Ivic, not because of him. And that mentality is very difficult to take away from home.

We certainly missed a huge trick by not adding a few existing championship (players like Deeney and Gray who have played in the championship before don’t count) like we did first time around with players like Watson and Gueds.

It’s a cliche but it’s true, you need players who know exactly what a grind the league is, rather than players who automatically think it’s below them.

Clearly none of the players have bought into his style, system of philosophy

If he doesn't have the right players to suit his system, then he needs to adapt to get the best out of them. You can't have a one dimensional coach
