They've been accurate for quite a lot recently. I think they were the first to report Welbeck signing too. They're one of the more reliable sources of news for us.

In all seriousness, would be great to get his wages off the books, a bit of a fee and have a fresh start. Then we could actually all write glowing tributes to his ten years here rather than having to hope he ****s off for the good of the club.

 

Everyone wins in this situation. Troy could do a good job at West Brom without the need to be Mr West Brom. Birmingham are crying out for a striker too.

He's burned his bridges after the Sun interview, no way he can remain club captain now. If we have to subsidise a move to Birmingham so be it.

 

I would bet everything I own that he won’t be going to Birmingham, subsidised wages or not. If he stays in the Championship, it’ll be with us...

I would also bet he will remain captain if he stays. But he likely won’t play as much. The club won’t strip him of it, I’m certain of that.

I love Troy. Even when he's been well below par we've had nobody to replace him with for years. Like Joka said, Watford fans don't appreciate how good he is.

I do think it's time to move on though. With hindsight the relationship probably ran its course two years ago. He's not as replaceable as many fans think but he's a hulking branch of diseased and dying wood right in a place we've needed to see vigorous new green shoots for some time now.

His head has got too big to stay here. I know he's so much better than what we've seen in recent years but he's had no urgency or desire about him, and a ton of arrogant complacency knowing he's guaranteed his place in the starting XI because there's nobody else who can provide what he barely bothers to. He needs to go somewhere he's not the main man to get his career back on track at 32, and we need someone fresher and 'on-the-up' in the number 9 shirt.

hard it will be for Watford to move him on given his wages hence the bigging
up of himself in interview i.e. "I got 10 in 27 last season"

Seems in recent interviews to be all about him. Disappointed he couldn't even be bothered to be at the game supporting the team or the new coach. Sooner he f's off the better

 

As club captain he doesn't have to be there showing his support for his team mates.

 

Club might not have wanted him and others at the game. Just serves as a distraction and you just know he'd be interviewed by Sky if he was.

 

Just prior to kick off yesterday he was posting snaps of him working out again with the strength and conditioning coach he shares with Anthony Joshua. No encouragement for his teammates or anything...

 

No acknowledgement of the result either.

 

As good as gone I reckon.

 

Maybe Joshua needs a new punchbag.

Thought the Instagram post was really poor form - even if on his way out, would expect our long-time captain and talisman to act like the leader he claims to be in supporting the club and players.

 

True, it's just football, it's not important. Real life is surviving to put food on the table.

Well I am shocked.

 

The food doesn’t make it as far as the table in the Deeney household.

 

If he's been asked to stay away by the club then that's fine but don't post soppy stuff that no one gives a tuppeny about.
If he hasn't been asked to stay away and he has done then that's very juvenile.
He is tarnishing his legacy by the day. A great shame and I expect he will regret it in the future.

I find it strange that what anyone does on social media is scrutinised as part of real life. I don't follow anyone, but i bet none of the playing squad, coaches, or anyone assosiated to the club sent wishes
