Gomes did, which shouldn't be surprising as he actually seems human enough to actually care.
I don't follow any players, but can't think of too much that any current player has posted in recent months, almost like they have been given a media ban. Gomes has left, so that could be why he was able to send a message.
I'm afraid to say he has really tarnished his reputation over the last few months. Yes he will be remembered for his contributions over the last few year. Like the others bailing out after putting the club into this mess he deserves little sympathy. The sooner he and his chums clear off into the blue yonder the better. He could have done the right thing in accepting a wage cut and trying to help return the club back into the top flight but is more interested in his profile. A big middle finger to everyone connected to the club who has stuck by him throughout his trials and tribulations. Fame is temporary and a misleading thing. Classiness and being honourable is something that is remembered for a long time.
Gray did too
They've not really had a lot to shout about.
What kind of bird is that? I don't think I've ever seen that type before.
Wonder if seeing the squad yesterday and watching Glenn Murray has changed the tune of some people?
Smaug got bored in Erebor and thought he would conduct a fire sale in Watford himself.
Thing is we have to wait until the window closes. If we keep hold of Sarr, Suarez and Estupinan great. And have disposed of the deadbeats and losers for a reasonable sum. Some of that to help Ivic reinforce the team the rest for the coffers. Then that would be excellent. If it turns out we sell all the main assets, undermine the manager and have blatantly lied to the supporters then all hell will break loose. The problem is the waiting.
Nobody notified Troy then
Not for me Clive...
Gray and Perica will surely still be ahead of him.
Well a whopping 10% now want him to stay. Worrying if true
BBC R4 news said that "A Question of Sport" is having a clear out: Sue Barker's going as are both team captains...
It seems like we are not the only ones who are cutting costs then, and FFS I hope you are not suggesting that Deeney should become a regular on the show.
They hardly have any footballers on as guests - let alone captains.
And he won't care or know much about anything other than football and boxing.
Didn't he once call cricket a girls sport in the match day programme?
Getting this thread back on track...
Soups that go straight on the team sheet: Cream of Tomato (Heinz or M&S especially); Broccoli and Stilton; Gaspacho (in summer); Lobster Bisque (this is, admittedly, a rather pretentious addition as I’ve only had it twice in my life - once in Le Gavroche and once at The Villa d’Este Hotel - but both those bowls of soup were the best I’ve ever tasted so it makes the list)
Soups that are the Deeneys of the soup world (overrated by some): French Onion; Pea/Pea and Ham; Minestrone; any consommé
Maybe this is the ideal season to have do the dirty on us fans, because we can't be there to voice our disgust.
The 3 players you have named along with Joao Pedro, Ngakia, Wilmot and Hughes, could be the nucleus of an amazing next generation for WFC, but if they are let go (and the more we let go, the more others will want to leave as well) we are stuck with old has beens, and bargain basement dross, then we are accepting that we are quite content with just being below average.
Ah, now I understand, had to google that and look at the images to find out though.
Ivic in his press conference today was asked directly about Deeney...
“If something comes for him we will discuss. It's very important the answer of the player, to keep someone if he doesn't want to stay here or be with us it's not good for me. If he wants to be here that's another thing."
The only positive things about the club right now are Ivic and Pedro
I’m really impressed with the answers Ivic gives in response to these types of questions, we really need to back this guy to finally destroy the toxic player power we have seen here over the past 5 years
About bloody time. It still looks like it's trapped in the 1980s - I always turn it off. Can't bear Dawson or Barker.
Source? Can the press conference be watched somewhere?
Ivic has no more ability to destroy player power than any manager, less given that we are a small club. Player power comes from the economics of the game, the transfer and fee rules, marketing and social media. It's present in every league everywhere - but ones like football, where the owners have not banded together - it's worse.
Agreed, though some others seem to be stepping up, like Cleverly.
Can't help but feel that those on the list who want out are the cause of the toxicity, apart from Suarez and Estupinan who have been yanked into the championship from Spain.
The clear out looks worrying but if it's shifting out bad apples then it's not a bad thing. Capoue was frozen out at spurs for moaning and Deeney thinks he owns the club.
We have, with a one year contract and instruction to win the division.
Feels like any points gained before the window closes are a bonus.
Put it this way, we've got Watford players that don't want to play against Luton.
Such players are not fit to wear the shirt and need to get out ASAP.
I'm fully with Ivic here.
I agree. But compare our player culture to that of Burnley. Can you imagine stories being leaked to the press about training methods or squad unrest after a few losses at Burnley? The players follow the manager's orders and if not, they're out. We have too many in the squad who think they are bigger than the club. I think this problem has been caused by a mix of poor recruitment of mercenary players, sacking head coaches too quickly and giving too much power to players, namely Deeney.
Hopefully Ivic making statements like this and freezing out certain players is a sign of a change in direction.
Oi leave Sue alone.
I agree about Dawson though.
I’ve heard Ade Adepitan is the new host, with Castor Semenya and Megan Rapinoe as captains. Much more 2020’s.
Caster Semenya and Megan Rapinoe always dreamed of being captains on AQoS
Given that the are the same age, earn about the same, both have contracts currently expiring in 2021, why don't we swap Deeney for Rose - Spuds need a striker and we will need a left back when Estupinan goes - seems a match made in heaven and with the transfer fee in we can cover the wages
or is that just too sensible
Sensible in a way. I just dont like Rose as a player. Much better out there and he wouldn't want to drop down a league anyways.
He didn't even want to join us in the Premier League, he isn't gonna join us in the Championship lol
well - Mourinho clearly hates him and Newcastle have got Lewis
So i suspect at 30 he will have to accept his reality
I am not keen on him - but he is good enough and we are going to get shafted on Deeney
Just seems like the least worst plan
I think you may have misjudged society
