Inconsiderate people who think they know everything about their own rights but fail to consider other people's.

 

having to speak with businesses to sort their ****-ups out, customer service, to complain about service, to make a payment, etc, etc, and have to use a premium telephone line to do it. I just had to change the bank account used for a direct debit, and it has cost me around £8!!!!!

Yes, I know that there is sometimes a normal landline number you can get hold of sometimes, via a 3rd party website, but it still really p*****s me off.

I'm starting to boycott companies that use premium rate numbers and don't offer a decent free on-line contact service. In the same way that I prefer to use companies based in the UK and companies that don't use Yodel as a courier.

 

I've been using them for sometime, of and on, but it is rare that i manage to get a landline that actually works.

 

Coming home from a weekend away last night and finding water dripping down through the kitchen light fitting. Then, worse, finding no leaks upstairs and realising that the leak is somewhere in the floor space, under fitted carpets, tiled bathrooms and (nailed down) floorboards.

Bollox!

 

You'll need to redecorate the ceiling anyway so assuming the house is a modern construction no need to touch upstairs. If it's your bathroom above check that the loo, shower or bath haven't leaked first. In this weather it's unlikely a pipe has gone and it's more likely a fitting on the back of one of those.

We're all aware that when you pay by card that as soon as you press pin and accept, that money although not necessarily showing on your account is effectively gone, you can't spend it again. What perhaps you may not be aware of, is that the money firstly doesn't show on the other persons account till the next banking day(so if you pay on a friday it shows on the monday). Better still it takes 4 days to become cleared funds.
Point of my rant, I bank with useless bast**d hsbc who use some idiots called global to do the card transactions. Turns out when I went on line earlier that money I took friday just gone still hasn't shown on my account. I phoned global who surprisingly aren't taking calls due to technical problems, have emailed my dimwit of a manager who suggested I ring global(what do these people get paid for??).
Fair play if I was asking for a loan etc(tongue in cheek), but I'm having to waste time etc to actually get my own money+ it's doing wonders for my blood pressure.

I feel for you but **** happens. If they've got technical issues they're better off concentrating on sorting them than getting an earfull. You won;t be disadvantaged other than a bit of hassle.

Got a chap in for a job trial and it was like giving a dead squid a hand job*.

 

When I'm told the technician needs to take the meistermobile "for an extended test, these are usually done overnight". Because it means the spotty youth is going to red-line it all the way home and park it outside his squat where undesirables will breathe on it wrong.

 

We have four bins outside the house as of today.

Green: household waste
Black: plastic, metal, glass, cardboard, paper, tinfoil.
Brown: garden waste
Grey: food

When I put anything in a bin I close the lid but other people in this mini-sh!t-hole-of-an-estate drop the lids from way on high causing a cacophony of bangs which echo around the concrete routes of houses and roads like machine gun fire.

Bloody jobcentre cut off my allowance for an unpaid part-time internship, which doesn't affect my ability to work, just because it's over 16hrs a week.

 

I think you will find you have to be AVAILABLE for work, and even you can't be in two places at once simmo

I think by law you do. Even if you chose not to, you'd put it on your CV and eventually they'd find out.

Indeed, someone barely looking for work who might just lie on their profile saying they searched for work online, would get £57 a week, whereas I do an internship and lose about £10 a day on travel and lunch which aren't covered by the internship.

I think after I finish this internship, I'll have to do another with slightly more focus on marketing, social media, communications or HR to be able to get a job in the charity sector.

I also hate the Offences against the person act that makes punching people, such as my boss, illegal.

 

Shoot him instead. Pretty sure that won't be covered by that act.

Fresher's week when you're not a fresher. People were queueing up from 3pm yesterday. I didn't finish lecture til 5 and had football til half 7, WHY ARE NIGHT OUTS BECOMING INCREASINGLY EARLY THINGS

Yes but that is not the reason for the moan.

I'm a third year now and fresher's week is built up as this huge thing at the SU Bar, but fresher's get priority entry until like 7/8 so you have no hope of getting in unless you get there stupidly early. Bull**** really.
