Really can't understand why the club don't buy it, it is peanuts compared to what will get in tv money next season, and if in the long term we do extend the vic end it won't take 5 years to buy it back at an inflated price. With the new station surely the price will only go one way, even if the club ran it a lost for 3 years, assuming we remain in the premier league it will be money worth losing in the long run.

Suggests it's being refurbished. Would be nice to have a pub close to the ground for home fans!

Grotty is an upgrade on the Red Lion. Disgusting place at the best of times.

 

Buy it, make it an exclusive members only club with a tunnel to the new NE corner

(and give the guy who first thought of it a free lifetime membership of course).

 

Something similar has bin suggested many times before.

Great. I need a hostel right next to the ground.

 

Because Watford is a mecca for Antipodean back-packers. One day somebody might make it a decent pub.

 

Well with a new tube station opening two hundred yards away, the new owners are looking at the bigger picture.

Try the new bar in the Viccy road parade. You will love it....

 

You are right. The new owners are clearly no fools and invested wisely in their feasibility study of the need for a young persons' hostel in Watford. A quick glance at Lonely Planets Australian guide for backpackers puts Vicarage Rd, WD18 somewhere between Bali and the Taj Mahal.

The upstairs is, and down stairs is a nice modern sports bar, just like the two near white hart lane. They are packed and both used by the locals as well. A decent business model for older pubs, which have been struggling.

I hope it works out.

All I can glean from those pics is crisps are 3 quid a pack and you have Fosters and Heineken on tap.

That and you ought really fix your tvs to the wall better. You probably will get sued if you don't.

It will be handy once we start doing stadium tours for Chinese tourists

 

They stay and then go to the Harry Potter experience at Woodside. A quarter of all guests at the Clarendon Road, London Watford Junction Holiday inn go to the Harry Potter, so there is a market for cheap accommodation in the town.

 

If you look at the average ratings on the top right rather than the most recent negative review, you'll find it's actually reasonably well regarded.

Agree with the comment that Willesden is a ****hole though.

 

If you can get served in under 20 minutes it would really help, let's see.

 

They were giving free pints for a good review.

 

The new bar Lounge Gabriels at 65 Vicarage road precinct, do excellent Lamb and chicken wraps. It is good if little pricey place for drinks too.
