Wat the hell is happening to that pub.Every away ground we go to has an excellent pub for us travelling band.So why do we have to put up with this sory excuse for a pub it is a disgrace. The toilets r in the same state they were 4 mths ago those that dare to enter will know wat i mean.No coke on draught no crisps scruffy pikeys behind the bar,no sat tv infact one tv dont work at all.Is this supposed to get us in the mood for the football pleas please sort the place out or shut it down.....

The club are the freeholder but can't get rid of the current landlord. Obviously he doesn't wanna invest anything in the pub when he could be off in a few months. That obviously includes stock as well. Until a deal is struck it's only gonna go downhill.

Have been in there once this season, best to stick to bottles.

Warm, flat, p*ssed down beer at £3.20 a go!

Went in there before Saints game this season!

It's still as sh*t from about seven years ago when I was last in there!

To be honest I hardly frequent Vicarage Road these days...having some middle aged anorak dribble all over me whilst munching on the sandwiches his mother knocked up for him, doesn't really appeal to me....

You don't like a bit of anorak dribble? Whats wrong with you? Thats the highlight of my Saturdays!

admit the pub is in a state but no need to slate the people who work in there I happen to know people who work in there on match days and its not easy for them at the moment with the conditions that they are having to put up with and the constant complaints, we have all known more or less since the first game of the season what state is going to be in until WFC renovate it so most people have chose to drink elsewhere or just put up with it.

its one of those lagers where the first one goes down nicely but by then end of the second your left wanting something with a bit more flavour and oomph to it.

Carling is nothing more than watered down stella. There's a huge thread on how pish poor that is.

In English..."What the hell is happening to that pub?"
"Every away ground we go to has an excellent pub for us travelling band".(I think you'll find its open the rest of the year and not just to the mighty Hornets) "So why do we have to put up with this sorry excuse for a pub?"(I used to live in Souldern st, its been like this as long as I can remember, I think before the current Vicarage Rd stand was built, they kept the conveniences in a way that fitted in with the grounds', with or without it's Tin roof.
"The toilets are in the same state as they were in 4 months ago, those that dare to enter will know what I mean." Read above...they've been the same for the last 30 years, just the spelling in the graffiti has gradually got worse and the quality of the cars parked on the corner hasn't improved either.
"No coke on draught, no crisps, scruffy pikeys behind the bar and also we no longer have Satellite TV, infact one tv set doesn't work at all.Is this supposed to get us in the mood for the football? Please please sort the place out or shut it down."

So they don't wear Reeboks or Caps and can't afford to stick a big exhaust on their Lada! Who cares....Each to their own, we don't dictate to you what you wear, eventhough most of us that have gone through Hertfordshires Education system would prefer the use of English not mobile phone speak. Laurence Haines was a superb junior school when i was there ( So was the Dog track that i visited after school...learn't how to fill those slips out;-), I doubt it has gone downhill that much, then Rickmansworth School was also excellent, alongside the towns two grammer Schools and most others to be fair.

Sorry to take the mick, but the Red Lion has always been poor and always will be. Marlon King wanted 25K...so the Sky Tv had to go! Bearing in mind a public house Satellite license is not cheap. (I Believe in the region of £3K per year...or the same as Kebabba)

You like a good away pub, then pop in the Oddfellows (or Macs before getting its identity back)!
Up the Yellows and the Toilet duck!

To reprise the late 70's & early 80's: RED LION, RED LION, RED LION etc etc.

PS: is Derry (somehow) still alive?

Mr Hicks looked 'vaguely' with us - though rather 'red faced' - when I saw him rolling down the road the other day 63.

Someone told me it's boarded up. Is this true ? Can anyone shed any light on this please ?

The last time I went there before a game, all the tv's, fruit machines, etc had gone, and there was a strange bloke outside selling cans from a fridge whilst doing a BBQ

It's being removed brick by brick and relocated to higher ground before they flood Vicarage road for a hydro electric dam as part of Ashton-Simpson's latest get-rich quick scheme.
