I do agree with them though. Handball should be given if deliberate, in the case of Dier it was completely accidental, he had his back to the goal and the ball hitting his arm had no impact on a goal being scored. A penalty being given just because the ball brushes the arm is not right, it’s not even close to proportionate to the actual original incident.

We now have a situation where defenders have to defend with their arms behind their backs, otherwise the risk of giving a goal away is actually greater from the risk they touch the ball, compared to the attacker actually scoring a normal goal.

  2. Im so far enjoying the lack of VAR in the championship. Its ruined football.

It's not VAR that is the problem, it's the way it is being used by the football authorities.

Disagree. There's nothing to talk about in the pub after the match.

    Just the rubbish refs instead!

I see the Norwich manager wished we did have VAR after yesterday's game.

Mind you they were playing Bournemouth.

VAR would relegate Muff to League 1

Yup, would be surprised if Parker makes it to christmas. Not that it's especially his fault, absolute nothing squad.

Could Flem be the worst team ever to play in the Premier League? Already 0-2 down at home to Villa after just 15 minutes!!

Looking at Fulham, West Brom, Sheffield Utd and Burnley so far this season, we may have had a decent chance of not being total no hopers had we somehow stayed up last season. As usual a load of what ifs, and it doesn’t matter one bit. Fulham do look totally out of their depth at the moment though. 0-3 down at home to Villa is not the one.

Looks like Ben Godfrey is going to Everton.....for £30m!!

Everton must be gutted he doesn't play for Watford, or else they'd have got him for £10m.

Lol. As if we’d sign a highly-rated young defender in the first place.

Hmm, it's quite remarkable how much sharper Liverpool's players all suddenly looked as soon as the season restarted.

Chelsea's big money signings have been very underwhelming so far.

More dropped points for Man City.

    Leeds with another strong showing.

    Liverpool must be loving it.

It’s just dawned on me (I don’t know why it’s taken so long) that watching Newcastle vs Burnley in a prime time Saturday night TV slot, Sky must actually be loving no fans being in the grounds so they can schedule games when they like.

I mentioned in the Suarez thread in an exchange with Jumbolina about the next TV deal and how it might be affected by Covid. Obviously by then, Covid will probably be long gone, but would it in theory actually be good for the next TV deal? Does no fans actually strengthen the Premier leagues hand?

Covid was a good chance to try and rebalance things, but it could actually make the gap between the premier league and everyone else even bigger.

I certainly expect Sky and BT to push for the continuation of wholly staggered kick-off times post-Covid, but I hope the Football League/National League can maintain the Saturday 3pm slot as sacrosanct.

Not a great day for England goalies.

Pickford and now Pope making errors .

Agreed, the lower leagues need all the help they can get so the 3pm shouldn’t be touched. In reality it doesn’t matter when you schedule games for the PL, the stadiums will always be full so it’s largely irrelevant now. The fans are really just a hinderance to Sky, more than anything.

Amazing to see how Bamford has been transformed like several other Leeds players by Bielsa. Just shows the value of a great coach. No deference or fear of Abu Dhabi. While we normally prostrate ourselves for a thrashing.

Bald fraud's time should also be coming to an end. No Aguero no goals. Sterling should take up diving. And how to solve a defensive issue with the bald fraud. Just spend another sixty odd million. Great coach indeed.

Utter bilge at the bottom of the PL. I reckon we could beat them easily.

For all the hand wringing and despair on this forum about our owners Man Utd,THE biggest club in the world are a flipping shambles.
Giving the job to OGS when they said they would wait until the end of the season and the utterly abysmal mess he's making of the job makes Gino seem like Alexander the Great.
How long has OGS got left?
    Clueless.

They’ve been a rich mans Everton for a while as well, constantly chucking good money after bad on players that aren’t quite up to the job, yet always seemingly in desperate need of 3-4 key players.

Does anybody know if Lamela from Spurs is ok? Martial gave him a hit that Tyson would proud of. Nearly took his head off

If anything Martial got hit first and harder!

Classic example of the man who retaliated getting the red card.
