I went and am angry because we were in complete control of the game at half time. Flores takes some blame but some players were utterly dreadful. Mariappa, Cathcart, Capoue, Holebas were an embarrassment. Going to cost a lot to sort this out

There was some hope that we would tighten up at the back, then expand our attacking threat. QSF was the right man for our first season. He's utterly proven to be the wrong man in this situation. Itll be a joke if he is in charge v Leicester.

Seems so but we should be passed relying on VAR which is so unreliable.

If anyone thinks he's wrong that we're going down, then I think they should be removed from any positions of responsibility in their every day lives.

Let's be honest Etienne, you don't give a **** whether we go down or not - you'll be doing your upmost to get a move if we do.

    'Captain' my arse.

We did tighten up at the back and then we got the injuries. And the individual mistakes on the pitch that no manager can control keep coming.

haha. well I did. 3 minutes before the sub the armchair manager in me wanted Delefeu replaced by Gray as I didn't think Delefeu was going to score today as he was having one of them days. And lo and behold a few mins later the sub happens.

I don’t necessarily disagree with Gray coming on, but Flores objective for second half was to sit deep and it cost us the game. He’s incredibly negative at 0-0 but the rare time we lead he has no interest in any offensive output. He’s absolutely horrific. The loss is worth it if he leaves our club for good this time.

Well, any argument is cohesive if you support it with complete untruths.

Our defence has had little investment and is the 2nd worst in the division in terms of goals concede and, arguably the worst in terms of ability, though admittedly that's subjective.

Our attack has had money thrown at it in the form of wingers. In terms of people to actually put the ball in the net, aside from the ball breaklingly poor decision to splurge on proven dud Andre Gray, the Pozzos are still mostly dependant on a player who predates them and who is massively past his best. They have done little to address our striking woes, most often signing half hearted punts like Oulare, Success or Okaka, rather than taking the bull by the horns and actually buying someone who could make a difference.

that they assessed our squad last season and decided that a budget, Championship centre back at 29 years of age was the answer to our defensive woes, whilst a free transfer striker who has been injured for most of the past 3 seasons, fully supports Skyla's post and not yours.

So what's the excuse for Foulquier then, that was the one that wound up people the most.

The Foulquier sub actually left me speechless. I don't care if Kiko had an injury, that should have given him a chance to try and win the game. Not ideal but move Mariappa to full back, play a back four and get Troy on.

The performance is by the players on the pitch. He made subs from the hour mark onwards which was what I would expect as S'ton were getting more of a grip of the game. I didn't mind the 1st one unhappy with the 2nd one. Then 2 individual mistakes that I mentioned earlier. QSF will likely have to go now as its a results orientated business but as I said earlier the players aren't good enough to keep teams out. Anyone on here who thinks its the manager's fault every time a team loses needs a reality check. Players and the people responsible of who we buy has a part to play as does the injuries. Having said that it's cut throat in the managerial game and I'm afraid QSF's luck on this occasion has probably run out.

Should we have not waited till the free kick was taken - think we brought him on before they took it.

Good free kick or should Foster had done better?

The Watford twitter account claims that it was due to Femenia being injured.

If that's true, which I don't believe, that's 8 in game injuries in the last 7 games (including this one to the sub tonight that he claimed cost us the game).

Considering it took a year to get over Flores' methods last time, I think there might be an argument that he's doing something wrong in training.

But he's too busy blaming 'elements'.

The first Southampton goal should have been disallowed for handball. FFS.....that's THREE handball goals VAR has missed this season. All have directly cost us points.....and they say there's no campaign against us.

Capoue absolutely broadcast the pass he was going to play to turn over possesion and like you say you could see his inevitable follow up foul coming. What was even worse was the state of the wall when the free kick was taken - they werent even paying attention when the free kick was taken. Masina jumped and turned away from the ball and Doucs didnt even jump. Either of those two defend properly the ball doesnt clear the wall.

********. Don't make the sub then if that's the case. The worst sub in living memory, Gray was absolutely the worst option to bring on as it severed the already tenuous link between midfield and attack.

And then to compound things he brought on Chalobah, a player that literally can't run or turn instead of Quina or Pereyra. Watch his reaction for the equaliser, he just jogs along as though he's on a warm down. Did anyone else notice the bit where someone passed it to him and because it didn't go right to his feet, he just watched it trickle off the pitch as he couldn't change direction? It's like playing with ten men, or maybe even worse because you assume he'll actually do something but then he doesn't. Nice guy I'm sure, career cruelly ended by a freak injury but we are taking the piss if we keep trying to get him on the pitch as a professional footballer. He'll see out his contract with us then retire.

Nonsense in my view. It wasn’t the subs (although they didn’t help). It was the mindset. We sat back and invited pressure when Southampton were there for the taking. Flores decided to shut up shop with predictable results. Of course someone is going to make a mistake at some point if you do that, especially with our mentally weak cowards playing.

Foster should have done better for both goals. Unfortunately our idiotic recruitment team has a veteran backed up by a grandpa, with 2 younger keepers miles out of the picture.

Defence been a problem for ages. This may surprise you but I agree with you regarding the striker recruitment. I support Gray as he is the 'fox in the box' and the only one we have. If we had better I would support his replacement.
