Was just thinking that if the trio you mention stay fit and in form then we are going to get 50+ points this year.

I for one am thrilled that Steve Parish never wanted Marco Silva and got his 'Number One Target' Frank de Boer.

Someone is going to buy Doucoure for a monstrous amount of money. He's going to go on to great things.

That won't stop the commentators focusing entirely on Southampton and asking why were they so bad. 4th. Bloody forth and still all we will get is a " but credit to Watford who (unbelieveably) made it hard for Southampton

The only thing that stops Doucoure looking like a man amongst boys, is that Chalobah is just as good as him! It's ridiculous that these two play for Watford.

£5m for Chalobah? ******* ridiculous business. We could sell him in Jan for £50m. Probably back to Chelsea.

No, because I was thinking the same thing. If we can get a point from City next week, then the sky is the limit for this team.

So that's 7 points from the south coast trio.....shame Portsmouth are not in the Prem.

Three clean sheets on the spin. What's impressed me the most is how solid we're looking and the effort the players are putting in. This is down to the coach and how he has drilled the side. Such a relief after the ridiculous goings on last season.

If we beat City next week, we could go top :D

I think our success is due mainly to the trio of Chalobah, Doucoure and Cleverley. That triangle with the amount of work and quality these three bring to the side transforms the team completely.

Add to that the pace and skill of Richalison and Carrillo then we've also got something to worry opponents at the other end.

A special mention to Kabasele. I've not been a great fan of his and I think his game is mistake ridden, but the last two games he's been fantastic. There was one chance for the Saints when he just threw himself at the ball just when it look like they were going to equalise. It's those moments that allows you to win games.

We're still not perfect by any means. Gray is struggling right now, but his work rate cannot be questioned.

Both goals were carbon-copies of Capoue's at Bournemouth. Is that luck? No, it's down to the confidence the coach has given the players. How many times last season did Watford players get in that shooting area only to pass the ball square. They just did not have the confidence to have a go.

Ok, I would like to see us create more bread and butter chances, as these are what will ensure you score goals regularly. You cannot rely on "worldies" every week. However, we are a work in progress and it all takes time. Make yourself solid and make it hard for the opposition to create anything. This will frustrate and mentally kill them off. I think both Bournemouth and Southampton felt beaten well before the end of the game. This is a big change as Watford, even when leading, always gave opponents hope and chances right to the final whistle.

are you Dion Dublin by any chance? Only that was very nearly his exact words on the BBC

As a word of caution.. and a word of caution is always needed.. although we've played some nice football so far, we have played 3 sides who'd you might expect points from and a Liverpool side with a suspect defense.
All good so far but we're barely out the starting blocks yet.

Excellent performance. Gomes had nothing to do. Kabasele and Kaboul were so good that they made everything look easy. Femenia and Holebas got up and down well.

Chalobah, Doucoure and Cleverley ran the game and stopped Southampton from getting any sort of rhythm going. Carrillo put a lot of effort in at both ends of the pitch and clearly has quality on the ball. Richarlison is pure class, but I'd like him to go to the byline a bit more often.

Gray ran his socks off. Obviously still things he can improve on, but had it not been for 2 sloppy passes he could've been in behind for 2 clear-cut chances today.

Producing a performance like that without attacking players such as Pereyra, Zarate, Okaka, Success, Capoue, Hughes even stepping on the pitch shows how many options we really have this year.

I'm a little worried about our injury issue, especially in defence. Our CB's seem to be made of paper and we now have Janmaat and Femenia at RB who've both had early injury issues.

We need to stay realistic. I'm concerned for next season as playing in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League will test the strength of the squad too far I suspect. We need to score more to break the Manchester monopoly of the top 2 places.

Doucoure and Chalobah in midfield is like a steel fist in a silk glove .

Those two set the tone for the whole game and were the biggest reason the Soton didn't have a look in.

Cleverley is superb at defending from the front but lacks the quality that Pereyra has on the ball.

A midfield three of Doucoure ,Chalobah and Pereyra is making the zip burst on my trousers .

Kabasele was superb today. I ve been backing him for a while so am feeling extra smug about myself tonight

Great to see that these young players like , Doucoure , Kabasele and Richarlison, that Pozzo network has selected are coming good.

For me the best thing about the last few weeks, as I come to terms with my recent personal loss, is that watching my football team has become a joy once more. You feel you actually want to watch this side. You look forward to Saturdays. Gone are the miserable, angry, bitter experiences of the dying days of the Mazzarri season. In their place comes a freshness, an exuberance, an excitement. The smiles are back. Yayyyy.

And so, gone are the memories of six straight losses, replaced by an unbeaten start to the campaign and 3 successive clean sheets for the first time since QSF's side beat Liverpool during his purple patch.

And so a Head Coach who never won on the road with Hull starts his time with us with successive away victories. And this achieved despite the usual injuries and suspensions. Forced changes?! Huh second time already this season a sub has scored for us!

And best of all? For me it's watching players grow. Already showing great improvement. Partnerships starting to develop, such as Doucoure and Chalobah. Kabasele looking as if he might be the answer in defence. Richarlison, wow! The thought of Pereyra, Zarate and maybe Success getting into contention to show what they can do. The strength in depth that's meant our first signing of the summer hasn't kicked a ball in anger in the PL yet, or our captain yet to start. For all the anticlimactic feeling of deadline day, we've a very decent squad brimming with potential. And a Head Coach who really seems to know what he's doing. What a difference just a few months can make.

    Enjoy your evening everybody.

I cannot believe that Doucoure and Chalobah play for us. But to think the two cost us 13 million, is staggering. Wonderful today and absolutely dominant.

Richarlison is also fantastic. Cleverley deserves a mention for his work off the ball and his link up play, and Carillo looked good defensively and offensively, which was positive.

Kabasele is a beast at the moment. Long may it continue. Maybe he's finally got used to the pace of the PL.

Complain about his injury record sure, but can people stop thinking that Kaboul isn't good enough. He's consistently performed very well when part of a back two, and today was no exception.

I'm amazed Holebas didn't pick up a yellow today. If I had any complaints today (and this is a minor one), it's that even when we're dominant, he's always offering opportunities for the opposition to get back into the game through needless petulance/ lack of concentration.

Finally, a shout out to Silva for his good management of the game. Good line up, we pressed at the right times, looked solid defensively as a unit and attacked with real pace, purpose and menace.

Let's hope the injuries to Kaboul and Femenia aren't serious. If so - it's been a perfect weekend.

Really pleased with the performance today.

Our defence barely looked troubled against some good forwards. Gabbiadini, Long, Austin, etc, are no mugs, but were completely snuffed out today, even after the substitutions. Obvious concern over the injuries, though, has taken some gloss off an accomplished performance. Kabasele is looking really comfortable and had a great game today, with some key blocks and interceptions.

Then, as already said, Doucoure and Chalobah are developing into a real class pairing. Two mysteries there. The diabolical football brain of Mazzari in not rating Doucoure whilst mere amateurs could see his class a mile off, and the incredibly low transfer fee for the Chalobah - he has to be one of the bargains of the summer. Then, Cleverley, an unspectacular workhorse, who compliments the others perfectly.

Then, going forward, we have been crying out for some pace and enterprise, and we are getting it. I feel for Gray a bit. He is trying very hard and was pretty shattered I felt when he came off. He needs a goal to kickstart his season. I hope the harsh criticism he is getting does not knock his confidence further, he can do without it. It is his first season with us and he clearly needs support and encouragement.

Very good debut from Carrillo after playing a couple of internationals on the other side of the world last week. Worked so hard, tracking back and defending well, whilst offering a decent threat going forward. He just seemed to fit in.

We now have a team going forward that, whilst not scaring the opposition to death, presents a big enough threat from several sources that makes them think, makes them hesitate about throwing themselves forward, and genuinely inhibits their play. It completely changes the complexion of the game.

With so many new faces and so many injuries and players to come back, this looks like potentially excellent season.

I hope I'm not getting carried away with myself but if we win the title this season or come second , we will get promoted to the World Cup 2018 .

If Chalobah gets selected by Southgate as well as Watford , he ll have a decision to make about who he ll represent in Russia .
