Warrington took the lead after about 3 to 4 minutes and then trailed until a Briers drop goal about 5 minutes before the end! A late try made the score look better.

The manager agreed that we won without playing well.

I was quite impressed with Celtic Crusaders, they had a few players who looked very good.

As their support was only about 100-150 in numbers, Warrington didn't open the West Stand (usual away end) and their fans stood in with the Wire fans, no trouble, good banter and beer on sale pitch side! - shame football can't be like that.

We play York City Knights on Saturday afternoon - won't be there as comiserating with the Southampton side of the family down south coast. This may be our only chance of silverware so I hope we tonk them!

Huddersfield seem to be a decent side this year.

I take it your off to Donny - here's hoping for 3 points.

I have seen Celtic a couple of times on the tele and they havent impressed me at all, however, they will probably find form when we go down to Bridgend on Easter Monday. Wanted to go down to that one, but will be at Norwich.

Poor result for Quins on Saturday, going down 16-42 at home to Huddersfield. As I said in my above post, not overly fussed with loosing but sounds like we played poorly, which isn't good. Always makes me laugh with Quins that, when we loose, they dont put up a match report on the website for a couple of days!

Catalans at home for us on Thursday night, so will pop down to The Stoop after work for that.

Big win for Warrington on Saturday mate, getting 10 tries will be good for confidence...after a couple of succesive wins, reckon you can start pushing yourselves up the table?

I was in Southampton at the weekend so didn't see either Watford or Warrington!

I believe Wire we're fairly mediocre but 10 tries should give them confidence. They've just sold Martin Gleeson to the Pie Eaters for £100K. Rumour up here suggests Sonny Bill Williams will be arriving!!!

You watch - we'll draw Sintellins in the next round at Knowsley Road!

Was surprised at your scoreline though the Giants don't seem to be a bad outfit this season.

Must be pleased with Featherstone away? Would be very suprised if you didnt win that game...

Great draw - but we are talking Warrington - annual under achievers!!

Will probably go to "The Chris Moyles Stadium" to see it.

Two more Super League teams will definatley go out from - Catalans, Sintellins, Wakefield or Wiggin.

    Fingers crossed.

Agree about the Hull FC v Hull KR game on Friday, really enjoyed it. Was pleased to see Rovers win though, didn't think that they would hold onto a four point lead for over 15 minutes.

Another disappointing defeat for Quins at home to Catalans on Thursday night. Despite having various key players missing through injury, if we want to push on into the play-offs this season, these are the games that we need to win. Big game for us tomorrow at Celtic Crusaders, will certainly not be as easy as some people might expect. Would have liked to have made the trip to South Wales...

Spoke to a mate who is a Salford fan who was very happy with their win against Warrington, thought that you might have gone there and won but just shows that its going to be a tight league this year.

Well, after Easter Sunday's debacle against Castleford tonight was much better!

Any win at Odsal is good, but 58-22 was more than I'd hoped for.
    Well done Wire.

Hopefully, Watford can now complete the weekend with a good win over Birmingham.

Russ, was going to say, bet you enjoyed that last night! Thought Bradford were awful but cant take anything away from Warrington.

Hopefully Quins can continue where we left off last week at Celtic with a win tomorrow against Hull KR...hope to get down The Stoop for that one, but all depends on what time my match finishes!

I really cannot work Quins out this season, we have a poor result at home to Hull KR last week then we beat Leeds last night at Headingley. Brilliant result and puts us into 6th.

It's a strange one isn't it. Great result for Quins.

Sintellins losing to Bratfud was a surprise when you consider we put 58 past Bratfud last week then they go and beat Sintellins this week, a team we can never beat!!

Warrington played probably the best they have all season yesterday beating Huddersfield 40-18. The Giants hadn't lost away from home all season.

The new manager seems to be instilling a bit of pride, passion and discipline in Wire and they're starting to improve. Then again, we're talking the under-achievers here, so expect us to lose the next couple!

losing left right and centre, not quite sure what to make of it.

I was saying to a mate the other night, its the best Super League for a long while as anyone can beat anyone - with maybe the exception of Celtic!

Salford up next for Quins in the opener of Murrayfield Magic on Saturday, would love to be going up there and gutted I didnt book flights when they were £50 return, but funds just wont allow it. After beating Salford away, I would hope that we can get another two points this weekend.

We've got Hull KR in the last game of the weekend - not sure what to expect. We beat them at the HJ a few weeks ago but they're a decent team.

Can't afford to go to Murrayfield - Natalie's 18th birthday has emptied the coffers!

Probably go to Featherstone Rovers the following week for the Challenge Cup. Warrington are only charging a quid per person for coach travel and that seems to be too good a bargain to turn down. At last count there were 10 coaches already full!

Although Leeds beat Wire a few weeks back, we were in poor form and Leeds weren't that impressive. I've read a few reports of dressing room unrest and the players not all being behind the manager.

As MJ1 said, it's good that anyone can beat anyone - it makes for a more exciting league.

Comfortable win 56-8 away to Featherstone Rovers in the Challenge Cup yesterday and was hoping for a good draw in the quarter finals. Then they draw us away to Hull KR - that's not going to be easy by any means.

  21. MJ1

Quite agree, a trip to Hull KR will not be easy. They turned us over down at The Stoop a few weeks ago when I thought beforehand, that it was a game that we really should win.

Talking of Hull, albeit Hull FC, will be a tough game for Warrington at the weekend at the KC Stadium.

Am hoping that Quins can beat Wakefield on Sunday, would be nice to try to break away from the pack at the bottom of the play-offs on 14 points. We still have a game in hand, at home to Bradford, so things are looking promising. If you had said to me at the beginning of the season that just short of the half way stage, Quins would be in the play-offs then would have been delighted.

Well, the weekend's results have once again proved what a crazy division Super League is this year. Couldnt believe it when I saw that the Celtic Crusaders had won at Bradford, I thought that they would probably get their first win sooner rather than later but didnt expect it to be there.

Good win for Quins over Wakefield though, was important to beat them as they were also on 14 points before the game. Tricky trip upto St Helens on Friday night for us, not expecting anything there!!

What a comeback from Warrington at Hull on Saturday...

I was surprised that Celtic beat the Bulls, especially when the Bulls have recently beaten Leeds and Sintellins!

Great comeback by Warrington at Hull but when they finally got in front I fully expected them to balls it up!

Home to Wiggin tonight - big derby game. We've got hospitality tickets tonight as it was Hazel's 21st yesterday - meal and entertainment before the match, further entertainment after the match and Hazel's favourite player (Michael Monaghan) is presenting her with a Warrington shirt after the game. She doesn't know yet so will be gobsmacked!

Lets hope we both win - like to see Saints get beat!

Great local derby last night - the atmosphere was electric.

Warrington hardly touched the ball for the first 10 minutes but a strong display by the forwards laid the foundations for a great victory over the Pie Eaters (Wiggin).

The whole evening was really enjoyable as we had booked a hospitality package for the night (not something I would do that often as I prefer to go to the pub and stand on the terrace), but I have to say Warrington Rugby League Club were excellent.

Good food, plenty of drink, pre match comedian, good win and my daughter was presented with a replica shirt by one of the players.

The players of both teams came to the hospitality suite afterwards and were only too happy to chat and have their photo's taken - a far cry from the over paid Premiership primadonnas we have on our TV screens!

    Well done Warrington:sign15:.

Glad you and the family had a good night - wish Hazel a Happy Birthday from all of us here.

I managed to watch a bits of your game on the tele, would have watched more but Mum hates Rugby League so had various soaps on before I was able to put the rugby on, looked a really good game and as you say, the atmosphere was rocking.

I didn't expect much else other than a defeat at St Helens on Friday night, plenty more sides will go to Knowsley Road and be beaten by more than we did! Once again, as Quins lost they haven't put a match report on their website, but after reading various other reports, sounds like we battled fairly hard and got back from 16-0 down to 16-12 before Saints killed the game off.

Also watched most of the Celtic Crusaders v Catalans game last night, am trying to have a quiet weekend!, I thought that at one point the Crusaders were going to go on and win the game.

I've just watched one of the best sporting contests i've seen.

Hull K R 24 Warrington Wolves 25 after extra time. A golden drop goal won the quarter final for Warrington in a match played by two sides of equal ability. Big hits, no hissy fits, just good hard rugby league.

I was knackered just watching it!

Semi Final now against either Wiggin, Sintellins, Castleford or Fartown and hopefully a trip to Wembley.

I didnt manage to watch the game mate, was at a barbeque and got a text from a mate saying what a brilliant game it was! I see that Warrington have Wigan away in the Semi Finals, local derby and should be a good game if last weeks encounter is anything to go by.

No game for Quins at the weekend due to the Challenge Cup but we have Celtic Crusaders at home on Saturday, so am hoping for a win! They got badly beaten at the weekend by Wakefield. I wont be at The Stoop as am off to Kazakhstan for the England game on Thursday.

I'll be going to the semi final against the Pies. Not sure where it is yet - Widnes or The Reebok probably.

Hope you have a good trip to Kazakhstan - i'll be watching from the comfort of the pub and when that's finished it's Castleford v Warrington on Sky.

I see that the semi-final is to be played at Widnes mate. I thought that they might have chosen a venue with a higher capacity than 13,500?

Pathetic choice of ground in my opinion!

It's literally like a home game for us, takes about 10 minutes by car, bit like driving from Vicarage Road to Garston!

We got 5,400 tickets only! We have approximately 6,000 season ticket holders. Wigan got the same allocation and haver 10,000 season ticket holders!

Got ours at lunchtime so we're set but we could have taken 10,000 to somewhere like the Reebok or the Galpharm!

The Saints/Hudds game is at Warrington's ground which is probably about right for their respective support.

Here's hoping for a win as we're guaranteed a Wembley ticket if we win.

Good result for Quins last Saturday with a 26-6 over the Celtic Crusaders, could have potentially been a difficult game so am happy enough to get the two points.

Got the long trip to Craven Park tomorrow night to play against Hull KR, they beat us at home and think it will be the same outcome tomorrow night. I think the game is on tele which is good!

I would imagine that Warrington are pretty confident at home to Bradford this weekend mate?

  32. Warrington Hornet

It's all getting quite close points wise with the chasing pack.

It's a tough place to go, Craven Park, to get anything. Hope you win though and that Castleford do Sintellins as well.

Unfortunately, as England are playing tomorrow against the Frenchies, we've lost Adrian Morley (just voted Super League player of the month) who has been immense recently and Benny Westwood. Bratfud are a team who either turn it on (beating Saints at Knowsley Road and Leeds), or get hammered (like they did against us about a month ago).

I reckon we'll win but I'm not as confident as I would have been with Morley and Westwood in the team.

    What's Kazakhstan like?

What a brilliant win for us last night, I didn't expect to get anything there but to win 10-40 I am very happy. We started very well, but then they put us under a bit of pressure towards the end of the first half/beginning of the second half but then we broke away and scored more points.

I would imagine you were disappointed that Saints easily beat Castleford last night, but admittedly, I couldn't see any other outcome than that result.

I am quite looking forward to the rugby today, got the Wakefield v Hull FC game then the France v England game at 8pm...means that I wont be leaving the sofa for the rest of the day!

Mention must go to Quins though, our game in Perpignan in July against the Catalan Dragons has moved from the Saturday to the Sunday due to Sky TV, so the RFL are providing supporters affected with tickets to Australia V New Zealand Four Nations Game at the Stoop on Saturday 24 October and Tickets to either the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley on 29 August or the Four Nations Final at Elland Road, Leeds on 14 November plus Quins are paying for a free coach and match tickets to the game at Warrington in September.

Kazakhstan was brilliant - absolutely loved it there! Cost a fortune, but was a brilliant city, the people were on the whole so friendly and we got a good three points...so all in all, a good couple of days away.

    Glad you enjoyed Kazakhstan.

Fantastic win for Quins last night - Hull KR seem to have gone off the boil a bit - but that's not taking anything away from the Quins performance.

If you're coming up to the Warrington game let me know, we can meet up for a few bevvies.

Although I wanted Stains to lose against Cas, the heavy defeat meant Warrington leap-frogged Cas on goal difference without even playing.

Was brilliant there, a lot of people I speak to find it hard to believe how good I say it was...

I was surprised to see that you lost to Bradford - I thought that this would have been a game you would have won. They said on the highlights that apparently Lee Briers went off injured early on and you missed Morley?

Saw the France v England game on Saturday evening, thought England looked brilliant! Richie Myler of Salford looked different class...

I will have to let you know about the Warrington game mate, its my birthday the week before so I may well go away for a couple of days so will see on money etc.

Are you off to Barcelona this weekend?
