Super League starts tomorrow with Leeds Whino's against Celtic Crusaders (weather permitting).

Any other hornets out there interested in Super League and, if so, who do you follow?

I know of one who follows Harlequins.

For my sins, I'm a season ticket holder at Warrington Wolves (the perennial under achievers). It's very similar to supporting Watford, beating the better teams whilst being often very poor against the sides they should beat.

I'm hoping for a top four finish and maybe a Wembley Cup Final this season but I think most of all to beat S**t Helens would be great. Warrington have only beaten them once in the history of Super League and most recently seem to get beat by a drop goal in the final seconds. To make matters worse it's our local derby!

i watch super league every season but have no fav. team.
obviously leeds rhinos are the firm fav's but st. helens have a new coach so who knows what he can bring to the saints.

also i have a warrington wolves fan up my road, not sure if he is a season ticket holder but his car is usually not there on matchdays

I used to live in Copsewood Road (my mum still lives there) and there's often a car in Milton Street with a Warrington Wolves sticker in it.

nice, so tell me, who will be the top 6 in your opinion?

The usual suspects - I expect Leeds are probably the team to beat.

Saints, I'm hoping that they may be on the decline as some of their squad are a bit ageing (Long and Cunningham to nam two) plus they have a new manager who may have new ideas!

Wigan appear to have improved over the last season.

Wire, hopefully will be a bit more consistent and could push for the top four.

I reckon Hull KR and Castleford may surprise a few this year.

celtic crusaders will go straight down IMO

hull kr had an OK season last season and i think this year there could be a big improvement from them

money is on leeds to win it though, great squad, good depth, keith senior is a brick sh!thouse.

Got my tickets for tomorrow nights derby, S**t Helens v Warrington - hoping for a win but have that nagging doubt the 'unwashed' will beat us late on again!

I think Celtic Crusaders will finish bottom, but there's no relegation for 3 seasons!

is that match on tv or is it a different match?

Yes, it is the Sky match.

I'll be there with the wife and daughter behind the sticks to the left with the Wire fans.

Apparently there were only 1,000 tickets left for sale as at Wednesday afternoon, so should be a great atmosphere.

Despite it being a derby the crowd won't be segregated by lines of police. It's all very passionate but things don't go too far (not like Watford v L*t*n encounters) as the towns are so close and the supporters seem to know each other from work!

Oh well, same old story again!

Warrington go 14-0 up with half an hour to play and then capitulate to Stains, conceding 26 points to lose 14-26.

That's a record of 1 win, 2 draws and 3o something defeats against them since Super League began!:'(

By the way, I also got my mug shown on Sky last night, looking rather glum as Stains took the lead.

    There's always next season!

Good luck to the boys this afternoon, I'll be in my local cheering them on.

watched the whole game... warrnigton had dominated the first half but once the saints got there first try that was it, good away following, st helens couldnt sell out the home end i dont think.

    whos warringtons next fixture?

Great following from Warrington and they stayed to the end!

Next game is at home to Catalans on Saturday at 6pm (Live on Sky).

I don't expect the atmosphere will be as good as the other night as they'll only be a handful of away fans there.

Didnt realise you were into your league Warrington?!

Got into the sport a few years ago watching the St Albans Centurions with Dad, then got a season ticket down at the London Broncos, who are now Harlequins RL. Try to get down there as much as possible...

Our first game off the season against Bradford was called off due to the weather and in the second week we had a good win at Castleford, beating them 8-12. At the weekend, we played Manly Sea Eagles and lost 26-34, which I dont think is any disgrace. According to what I have read and people I have spoken too, we played pretty well so hopefully we can continue this form against Wigan at the weekend, which is live on Sky.

Would love to see us in the play-offs this season, but really cant see it...

I remember you saying you watch Quins sometimes. We're season ticket holders at the HJ.

Wire are awful at the moment, they can play well for about 50 minutes (as proven against Saints on week 1), but then seem to capitulate.

Last weekend against Catalans was embarrassing, 18-6 up only to lose 20-40!!!

There's definately some in-fighting at the club behind the scenes, the manager is not particularly well liked due to the style of play (give it to the big boys for 5 then kick) whereas the past few seasons we've thrown it about a bit.

We're on Sky again tomorrow away to Wakefield so we'll be over the local to watch (it may look better after a few beers).

Give us a shout if you fancy watching Quins up here and we can meet up.

I work with Saints fans and it's really beginning to grate with me that we always lose to them.

    ouch!
catalans are certainly playing well though, even if they are a froggy little club

Another gutless performance tonight losing 48-22 away to Wakefield.

We're bottom of the table and play Leeds next week. God help us.

Good luck to the boys tomorrow against Palarse.

    Played 4, lost 4!

However, a much better performance yesterday despite the 14-20 defeat to Leeds. It's strange how a new manager can have an effect on a team!

A lot more pride and passion and quite honestly we should have won. Leeds were 12-0 up in about 5 minutes and the signs weren't good but we pulled it back to 10-14 by half time.

Second half we got it to 14-14 only for Leeds to score on their only visit to the Warrington half throughout the whole half. Poor handling and poor options cost Wire dear.

Harlequins away next week - here's hoping for a first win of the season.

I'll be down in Watford for beers in the Lower Estcourt and the match against Sheff Wed so here's hoping for a win double.

Your poor start to the season has continued mate, bottom of the league with no wins in 5.

From the brief reports I have read from yesterdays game, sounded like we were pretty awesome so hopefully that can continue at Huddersfield next Sunday, but we are on a decent run of form which is good.

Good to see you again yesterday mate.

Good to see you mate - just glad I didn't see you after the match as I dare say there would have been some mickey taking!!!

Shame the Watford match was ruined by the referee.

Warrington are home to Hull KR on Sunday so that'll be another defeat no doubt! They've now lost 10 on the bounce if you include the end of last season.

havent hull kr won there last 3, if so there on a good run of form but at the same time a team like warrington could easily be a banana skin game and your season could liven up on sunday

Nothing would have been said ;)

I was in a pub in St Albans when I found out the result, they had the yawnion on and got a mate to check the BBC website for the Quins result. I didnt believe him when he said the score, but when he revealed the list of try scorers and Danny Orr's 10 drop goals I started to believe him.

Huddersfield away on Sunday for us, will be a tricky game but on our current form we shouldnt fear anyone. Saw the Giants on the tele the other week and they look decent...Brett Hodgson looks a good signing for them!

    Hallelujah

Warrington win at last, 24-12 against Hull KR.

A far more committed performance today and hopefully Tony Smith has started to sort the players out.

They now need to build on that against Celtic Crusaders next weekend. Here's hoping!

Surprised Harlequins got hammered at Fartown!

I honestly didn't think we would loose at Huddersfield today, thought it would be a tricky game that we would just edge, but in the end we got a bit of a hammering. Could possibly be a good thing if it brings up back down to earth slightly after a couple of good results?! Half thought about going up there today, but decided against it due to the money etc so glad I didn't bother!

Hopefully we can get both points at home to Hull next Saturday...

Leon Walker, 21, collapsed in the 63rd minute and was airlifted to Morriston Hospital, Swansea where he was pronounced dead.

Walker is the second Wakefield player in the last six months.

Cook Island international Adam Watene, 31, died after collapsing during a training session in October.

    Very sad news indeed.

Takes a bit of the shine off Warrington's win yesterday.

Rugby League fans have been very supportive of Wakefield since the news broke as they've been blighted with bad news for the last year with 2 player having died on top of a mountain of injuries to the rest of their squad.

Good result for Quins on Saturday night against Hull FC. Didn't make it down to The Stoop, as was at Wembley, but heard that it was a good game and we played well which is pleasing.

Have got Huddersfield in the cup next weekend, not overly fussed with the result of this one, as realistically we aren't going to get to the final and would rather concentrate on getting into the play-offs, however, would be good to keep the momentum of recent weeks going.

Good to see Castleford beat Bradford, although I don't particularly like Cas, nice to see some other sides beating the "bigger" teams...

Was the Warrington game as close as the score lines suggests?
