but giving them 3 points could cost us half a dozen places and 10m in prize money - so fookem

Amazing the difference between our price and those of Everton and Muff given the relative positions in the table ??

Stoke and Southampton for me. That game at the weekend was everything that's wrong with the Premier League nowadays, two teams **** scared of doing anything positive, and that was one of the most winnable fixtures left for both of them. Others either have enough spirit or enough quality to squeak through

After MOTD showed the Southampton/Stoke borefest Danny Murphy (not the worst pundit, but overrated) said he thought both of them would “be alright”, which made me think “so who do you think is going down with West Brom, if not either of them?”. I assume he must think Palace because they have the fewest points but then he must be backing someone who is already up in the 30 point region: Newcastle? West Ham? Swansea? It seemed an odd thing to say but probably he is suffering from ‘lazy pundit’ syndrome and can’t accept the possibility of Huddersfield staying up because they’re not really in the Premier League club, are they?

There is no chance Danny Murphy put any such analysis into this comment. They just wanted to wind up the episode. I've grown increasingly frustrated with how lazy the analysis on the last few games on MOTD is. They're very complacent.

"Last few games" - I gave up on the 'pundits' analysis many years ago. I never watch MOTD live - put it on the recorder, fast forward through the drivel and just watch the goals. The laziest season has to be QSF's.

Channel 5's programmes are better, but still poor. They get the same treatment even when Chris (he beat Leeds) Iwelumo is the pundit.

Beating the top 6 at home seems to be the norm rather than the scalp these days.

They seem like they've given up in the league because of Man City's FFP-busting ability to buy £60m substitute defenders.

  8. It's a culture shock for the top 2-6, they're not used to being smashed off the park unlike the rest of the league

Danny Mills reckons Jose is concentrating on the cups - well they probably won't win the Champions league and didn't winning the FA Cup but not coming in the top 4 get Van Gaal the sack?

    Guess Man U will though...

EDIT: Probably win this game too.

Jammy bstards. They’ve looked disjointed and their players have been arguing among themselves. I don’t particularly like palace but it’s funny how allegiancies can change

Palace fans have some good songs

Haha that’s hilarious and makes me feel a bit better after the miserable midweek trip to palace when we collapsed at the death. Hope they go down.

Not sure this has anything to do with this thread but I always hope for a positive goal difference.

Looking at the table it's quite amazing that only the top 7 have achieved that so far. Even then it jumps quickly-1, 11, 24, 31 etc.... Guess it just shows that albeit with a few slip ups the big boys are still the big boys.

Who knows, big finish to the season may see us finish positive.

    Sorry, a bit bored.

    Two things:
MillieMollyMandy played well from the 40 minutes I saw but should have gone out to Matic. Good goal though.
    Isn't Luke Shaw fat?

Have no love for Utd - but to see Palace stay in the bottom three, after being 2 up and losing to an injury time goal in what was a poor Man U performance, pleases me immensely:D:p:D.

United only started playing when 2-0 down. What a fantastic finish to win it.

Makes it so much sweeter, remembering their unjust late winner against us.

Felt a bit sorry for Palarse in the end they maybe deserved a point but part of me felt an element of revenge to how we felt that night.

Don’t give a toss about Man Utd but Palarse losing is another bonus to our weekend result.

Plus those Mersyside bindippers are back down to third. I'd love to see them drop out of the top 5.

Can’t see that happening. Seem better than Manure, Spuds and Chelski - certainly on current form - and they are streets (not to mention 15 points) ahead of the Arse.

Sorry meant top 6, Burnley in 7th are -2. Should probably use more footballs and less tyres in training.

I thought just the same when we were luxuriating in Zola, exotic loan players & the dawn of the Pozzo renaissance.

But SD making them round a muddy, slopey field in central Lancashire clearly did something to them.

I would be thrilled if we could nip past them, though.

It's weird, do I want to be in the Championship? No, not a chance, but I enjoyed 2012-13 and 2014-15 more than the past three years. It's all about managing expectations I guess, the QSF season was excellent looking back, but we never really looked like going down from pretty early on, and then fell flat in the second half of the season. Last year was not particularly memorable neither, save for the United and Arsenal results, and this year for a while we had been the most worried about relegation, despite having our best squad in a long time. Compare that to the first Pozzo year, I really didn't know what to expect then. Some of those players we had in the Championship years captured the imagination more than what we have now too, even though many of them ultimately weren't quite good enough to make the step up

Palarse firmly in the mire then, good to see. Obviously they'll still nick something from Chelsea away and escape though, jammy ****ers
