Defo. I've seen he's linked with Liverpool, not sure if that's legit or the papers putting two and two together and getting five, he's been good, but not THAT good
I also hope all 3 promoted teams stay up - Newcastle will always struggle as long as Ashley is there; Huddersfield's enthusiasm and "spirit" will be less effective next season; Brighton CANNOT be so fortunate again with hardly any injuries plus a "soft" schedule which has allowed them to get points in the bank before their bottom-half rivals. Coming up? Wolves (14th-16th), Cardiff (straight back down), Villa (struggle ...ageing squad), Fulham (struggle), Derby (don't make me laugh), Boro (look at last season + Bamford). Hope Cardiff come up = 20th sorted.
I get this won't be universally popular, but if Southampton go down, I'd take Redmond. Yes, he's inconsistent, but we need a winger, and realistically, anyone who is consistent will be looked at by the bigger teams. We'd all love someone of the calibre of Zaha (not necessarily Zaha himself for obvious reasons), but would they choose us over a top 6 team? Besides, we've revived Clev after his career was floundering
Of course he's not worth that to anyone else, but if it weren't for him, Palarse would be relegated by now, understand that tbf
I wouldn't mind us going for Lemina even if we keep Doucoure and dropping Capoue. I am half hoping Southampton go down just for this possibility.
My opinion is that Zaha only signed the new deal to get Palace as much money as possible if they stay in the Prem. I would not be surprised if the bargaining chip to have him sign such a deal, is a relegation release clause for a considerable cheap amount. If they get relegated I wouldn’t be surprised if he only goes for £20/25mil because of a release clause. Just a guess.
If Southampton go down, I'd like Boufal & Lemina If WBA go down, I'd like Gibbs If Stoke go down, I'd like Buttkiss & Zouma If Newcastle go down, I'd like Merino If Huddersfield go down, I'd like Mounie If West Ham go down, I'd like Lanzini If Palace go down, they can keep all their players as far as I'm concerned, but I would like to say "ha, ha, ha".
Same with Tammy Abraham at Swansea but I'd still like to have him here, I think he'd offer more than Gray.
No word from Liz recently? Last seen striding off purposely, armed only with his Daniela Hantuchova 2004 calendar. I, for one, am concerned.
A lot of chat these days about formations but I couldn’t help but notice that, on a meta level, the Prem itself is lining up as 1-4-1-13-1. Co incidentally, Pulis’ dream system.
IF you ask me, which I'm sure everyone would have, in time, it's more of a 1-4-1-6-7-1. We are 9 points outside any relegation spot, when that represents a third of the team in that spot's entire points tally, and 6 points above Swansea in 13th. We have earned a distinction, especially when, whilst Bournemouth in 12th are a whole win/3 points away from Swansea directly below them, there are then only 3 points blanketing the entire rest of the group from the Swanees to the relegation spots.
Good point. We have now established our mid table mediocrity. Actually, that's a big step forward. We can now start looking up, competing in cups & prove a more attractive proposition for transfers.
Chelsea aren't going to sell him unless its for far more than he's currently worth, and because they're in a position of power, unlike Chalobah who had 1 Year left and expressed a desire to leave and more akin to Aké who they had years left on his contract they can insert a buyback clause as well as a sell on percentage. Homegrown will further inflate price. Pass.
This is Zaha we're talking about - the feeling is mutual. No, I wouldn't want the self-regarding, cheating, whinging play-actor here.
For those predicting Palace going down please remember they are he luckiest bunch of ***** in the league and every time you think it’s going bad for them they somehow survive. They’ll survive. They always do
Not bad summary, although I don't know much about the Championship. But Wolves might develop into a handful if they come up - they have been a sleeping-giant of a club.
Speaking of Woves, that obese oaf Samuel is lauding their rule bending (allegedly) to the skies in today’s DM - yes, the same Martin Samuel that crucified us over the Udinese loans. Effing hypocrite.
