Huddersfield down to 19th as it stands. I think that's the first time they've been in the relegation zone all season?

Assuming we do just enough, West Ham, Huddersfield and WBA look good bets to fill the bottom three.

Bournemouth equaliser is good news didn't think I would be so happy to see an AFC Bournemouth goal.

Brighton now 3-1 up, all credit to their sponsor Malts for that one.

Muff also 2-1 up against Stoke.

Brom, Huddersfield, West Ham and Stoke the losers so far this afternoon...

Don't want Muff to be above us but kinda helps us if some teams just drift apart. Hopefully Stoke will be one of them.

I actually think Bournemouth winning is a positive result for us as it will be the first game Stoke have lost under Lambert and may stop some momentum they may have been building.

I’ve always thought Muff have too many goal scorers in their squad to go down.

Even when on a poor run, you always sense they could do what they did at The Bridge midweek.

Same could be said of Southampton.

The goals have dried up for Huddersfield. Until today Brighton weren’t scoring either. We look short up top although hopefully we are becoming harder to beat. West Ham seem a bit of a car crash lately. Brom now have Sturridge but they are in danger of falling too far adrift. Swansea look poor on paper but annoying have hit some form.

Could do with a late equaliser for WBA and a winner for Leicester .

    Still 11th though I think !

Yeah absolutely, not point worrying about teams that have more points than us already, it’s the ones with less we need to lose/draw.

No idea how Swansea are 7 games unbeaten. It really is an example of how us allowing them to beat us - and that's exactly what we did - not only cost us 3pts and gained them 3pts, it also gave them a massive shot in the arm. Arguably a lot of the points they've had since can be traced back to beating us. Imagine if we'd just held on for those 5 minutes? They could be 10pts adrift now and out of the picture.

This is what I have to explain to people who can’t get their tiny minds round the fact that we sacked Silva when 10th. We gave results to teams below us that couldn’t buy wins before or after playing us and squandered the lead against the bottom team twice. It’s so frustrating that we could’ve so easily had over 30 points by now and about 5 of the teams below us would’ve had 3 less than they do now. Silva really is a ****.

I have no doubt we're staying up. There's some absolute ***** below us whereas we've made a change of coach and have important players to come back.

Absolutely. Palace had already put some results together before our capitulation at Selhurst but the Swansea result is the real kicker. They had a game plan to keep it tight, even when one nil down and only bothered attacking in the last ten minutes. Win like that and the squad thinks the new manager is a genius, lose 1-0 and they think he's too conservative to save them. The very worst thing we did was not being able to see it out as a disappointing draw, Zeegelaar's idiotic challenge to give the free kick away that led to their equaliser looks worse by the week.

Think 10 more points would be enough now for us. Still need to get those wins and the sooner the better to settle the nerves. Hopefully the new manager can continue from the other night making us tighter at the back.
Think WBA are in a lot of trouble now as are Huddersfield. Playing both and beating both would be massive for us. The other place could be 1 from the next 8. Thought it would be Brighton but a good win from them today.

Against Spurs and now against Arsenal their defending has looked worse than ours. I thought BFS was meant to be good at that sort of thing? It almost looks like the players don’t want to play for him.

So Everton get smashed as Silva drives past the stadium with a big inflatable middle finger to them for not forcing him out of Watford...

Meanwhile in the real world we get a day of quite generous results although we sit nearer to the bottom 3 but get anything against Chelsea on Monday and we climb that bit further away.

For some reason watching Sky Sports on a Saturday when we aren’t playing is much more relaxing. Odd that.

Feels like WBA possibly went down today, not sure they can get enough points now

Anything from Monday is a bonus but after that we need to get points on the board in the next 3

    Miles to go.

Muff looked hideously placed but 2 wins & they’re top half.

Some of the tensest fixtures since Pozzo season 1 beckon.

Beating WBA, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Palace at home must be the target games. 12 points for surefire safety. 10 for nearly there. Any less and we are right in it.

Mind you Everton at home is a game that with the bad blood this season we need to give them a real hiding. They might then get Silva in rather than wait til the seasons over.

I’d love them to get rid of BFS and appoint Silva at any point this season for the absolute carnage that would ensue, but I can’t see even Everton being that stupid.

We just don't know until we can look back at the end if the season. Could turn out to have been terrible if Brighton and Soton finish a point or two above us and WHU and WBA don't go down.
CP vs Newcastle today is a difficult one to call. Who is most likely to go down ? Newcastle ? Or do we allow them both to take one point ?

  34. a19tgg

With it being so tight between teams I think a draw between teams below us is always preferable. The exception probably being WBA because as they’re a bit further away it’s best they get cut as far adrift as possible so you’re only looking at two spots to fill. That said Palaces form since Woy took over is easily mid table and they wouldn’t be anywhere near the bottom of he’d been in charge for the whole season, so if a side had to win I’d probably favour palace as Newcastle are a good bet to be worse than us over the remaining games.

what il take from the next four:

    Chelsea H: Draw
West Ham A: Win (on their current form it's not inconceivable we can do this)
Everton H: Win (for the SNAKE saga)
West Brom H: Draw (never play that well against them at home bar last season of course)
