Did you make a note of the points given to the other teams? last season I did this bet and the bookies didn't have anything on their site where you could follow the scores. I've jotted them down this time to keep an eye on it.

Spurs don't seem to enjoy playing at Wembley!

Mind you they have had chances.

Top "London" team. I've also stuck a tenner each way (top 4) on the handicap +42. Hopefully get at least a place for £50.

After defeat last night in the C followed by various other random letters that don't look right together cup and the morning after feeling, only one way to cheer myself up and that's by rounding up week 2 of the made up league that is PREM TWO!! (Stop reading if this thread offends you!)

Despite it only being the 2nd week it felt like a big one. Here are how the teams got on....

Bournemouth will be rightly concerned by their poor start in the league. A 2-0 home defeat to fellow league side Watford means they have zero points from two 'Prem 2' games. Favoured for one of the top spots, they have much to do not to get dragged down early into a battle at the wrong end.

Newcastle are another side to have lost both games to league rivals and it looks far from rosy for Rafa and his toon boys. Other early strugglers are Swansea, fierce rivals Brighton and Palace, and West Ham, who did at least show some fighting spirit in their entertaining defeat to the Saints. All these teams are still to record a point.

At the other end it's Roy of the Rovers stuff for the leagues debutantes Huddersfield. They've done what they need to do with 2 wins over fellow league rivals, albeit 2 weak looking ones as it stands. West Brom are looking their usual 'big and powerful' selves, but seem to have added a small amount of quality and also have a 100% record.

Not far from the top are the Hornets, their impressive win away at Bournemouth added to their 'bonus' point V Liverpool makes this a fantastic start to the (league) season.

Leicester and Southampton won their Prem 2 matches and look good shouts for ending the season at the top end of this 'league within a league'. But the biggest winners of the weekend are Stoke who took a Prem 1 scalp and 3 'bonus' points.

League table to follow at some point in time....

Green means the hallowed top ten finish...assuming that the 'big 7' end up up there. Red is relegated....again unless one of the big 7 have a major internal meltdown.

I fully appreciate this is all a bit bizarre. I'll take the mocking I fully deserve......

    Good work .

Needs a weighting to show games that have been played against the top 7 teams

I didn't realise that Stoke have more champions league winning players than any other side in the league. Saying that, didn't Wooter win it with Ajax before signing for us?

Yeah I saw that stat somewhere, MOTD or sky sports news I think? I was surprised at how few there were in any of the teams.

Hahaha, even if you add up all our players from the past 5 years that stat is probably true!

The weighting (bonus points) for playing top seven sides should be a good indicator longer term of which team is making progress in bridging the gap. So something like a home win against say Chelsea would yield 2 bonus points, an away win 3 bonus points and a draw home or away 1 bonus point. Of course a team could be relegated but still take some top 7 scalps along the way but that anomaly has to be accepted whatever weighting measure is used.

Week 3, and it looks like another humdinger!

Palace V Swansea - no goals between them from 4 matches and just a single point for the Swans. You'd imagine both camps are desperate for a win from a team looking as bad as themselves at this early stage. Which way it goes is anyone's guess, but it wont look good for the one who loses...

Huddersfield V Southampton - 2 unbeaten teams heading into this high on moral, should make for a good game. This is a step up in opposition for the current league leaders and be interesting to see how they do.

Newcastle V West Ham - two MASSIVE clubs with ZERO points between them. West ham showed good fighting spirit when down to 10 men last week and the geordie faithful will be demanding nothing less than a win at home. Defeat spells early disaster for either side. Big game at the wrong end of the table.

Watford V Brighton - the classic banana skin game. Looks a clear home win in this league if ever you saw one. Great start for the Hornets, no points or goals for the visitors. A win will be expected and would represent a fantastic start to the season. Not winning wouldn't actually be that bad in terms of current points bearing in mind the 4 picked up V a Prem 1 side and a tricky away fixture. And I'm sure we would all take this scenario calmly and understandingly were it to happen......

WBA V Stoke - one for the football purists. Two British managers with defensive mentalities. Doubtful it'll be first up on MOTD but they can both be effective and will be wanting to be at the top of Prem 2 by the end of the season. WBA at home with no goals conceded so far could be in line for top spot come the international break.

There are free swings for Bournemouth, Leicester and Burnley.

EB this is excellent work, must take you ages. I was an early adopter on this thread and still think it is great, fans from other clubs are welcome to view it in my opinion.

Oh, and I love a spreadsheet so keep that up please. ( slightly embarrassing but true), and a traffic light colour system, genius.

Big weekend for some, going into the international break with naff all points will not be welcomed by any set of fans let alone Spam, Palarse and the mighty Newcastle. We have 4 so wouldn't be a disaster but we should be looking to beat a team like Brighton at home if we have any aspirations of a Prem2 champions league spot.

Cheers Sort of, it's broken up the intense nature of wedding planning! And I'm sure it'll break up the dullness of work when I go back in September.

I'd be gutted not to get the win Saturday as it's our easiest game so far and the vibe about the club is positive as it stands. As you say huge weekend for several teams, some of them quite fancied as well, no points from 3 and then having to stew over it during an international break, nightmare start to a season that.

Oh no, wedding planning, I'm on my second by the way.

Rash assumption but assume you are the groom rather than the bride, these things mean far more to the bride so pressure on. Seating plans, first song........ bit sh*t on the day. Need to get a close friend to update on the scores, poor form checking on your own phone every few minutes. Have a great day and enjoy.

Haha yeah I'm the groom. It's been ok, but only because it's the summer holidays so 5 weeks to plan without work. Luckily we both just want a big party, the 'traditional' stuff is in there but it's not the overriding factor of the day. As you say big part of the day is getting score updates! Better be good news as I'll be doing my speech shortly after the final whistle.

Knowing your ornithological leanings Kelso I trust you mean a fan and not a bird?! ( especially as everyone seems to say there is no such thing as a seagull, only different types of gull).
I saw a heron on the river at Ware yesterday,is this an omen?

True IBB. There are no such things as seagulls although B&HA F.C. would appear to differ. If EB was to take a pop at a Black-headed Gull or a Lesser Black-backed Gull in wing moult it wouldn't bother me particularly though. There're plenty of them about. As for a heron omen - depends what it's eating really. Obviously a dead gull would have been good for tomorrow. Pecking at a dead swan would be good for the Welsh lot. Then there's a spud before a Wembley fixture or something in a bag or a pot for the black country lot or a heron with a sweet tooth for the Scousers Mark II and ''aving a go' at a few magpies (doesn't matter how many) for the MASSIVE geordies. Luckily the Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) has a rather eclectic diet so anything's possible.

I saw one ''aving a go' at a MASSIVE eel on the Thames next to Craven Cottage two weekends ago. About a metre long. It kept stabbing at it to nil effect. Unfortunately there's no football club nick-named the eels as far as I'm aware although the Muff could certainly be classed as 'slippery customers'. So maybe that was an omen right there.

Fulham F.C. are of course known as the Cottagers although I suspect they might have recently let that one slip into the long grass.

It'll be easy to slip it in (ooh err) if Success scores. She might not even notice the double entendre.

Fit in with the thank you's, bridesmaids, mother in law, mum, aunty Doreen who's not a real aunt but a family friend that lived next door for making the wedding favours, Richarlison for making it one nil, best man, Cleverley for making it safe late in the game, small bunch if flowers for each. Oh and bride for turning up and looking beautiful.

First to an Elton song and the jobs done (probably not Hakuna Matata if you want my advice).

Best of luck. we'll all be thinking about you, as soon as the football is over of course.
