The Geordies are in uproar on A. N. Other site - they're particularly miffed with Lejeune's booking for diving: even more so than their disallowed goal.

I’d love to see Everton go down though, haven’t they have had one of the longest unbroken runs in the top flight?

I think that it would be good for every team to have a 5-6 seasons in the lower leagues just to make their fans appreciate that losing two games on the trott isn’t a losing streak. I’m looking at the Manchesters, Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Here.

Bilic out Moyes in according to Mr Lineker on MOTD.

Hmm...not sure that will go down well!

I fear that we won't get to play West ham with Bilic in charge. On paper their squad is pants but they may benefit from new coach bounce.

  9. If we don't finish at least 8th Silva will want sacking

Not disputing at all that a top 8 or at least top 10 finish is very achievable, but how serious is this comment?

  11. Considering how much dross there is in premier league, fairly serious

City apart, it's the poorest premier league in years

I think the top 6 are good, their record in Europe so far this year looks promising. Man City look a real class act and Spurs and Man Utd look very good (for different reasons). Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are inconsistent but have certainly got a decent level about them.

I think the issue with the rest is too many teams concentrate way too much on being hard to beat. Let's be honest we were in that category for the last 2 seasons and it looks awful and dull in large periods of the season. Most teams in this league have decent players, it's just how they use them. We might look stronger than others because of the style Silva is using and he's been given the right players for the job. But doing his job well (so far) shouldn't really work against him if he doesn't get us say 8th place.

I'd say top 7 is there for the taking from any team outside the top 6 and due to the Prem money all teams get a fair crack at it at the start of the season. Luckily it looks like we could be one of them.

I know its not going to affect us but I understand (or according to Wenger) Sterling took a dive and is well known for it.

Well will there be calls for him to be banned by the press?

Not seeing top 7 at all. Not with that defence and a general injury prone group of players.

If the owner is worth $4.9 billion and "only" owes £323 million, this doesn't sound much of a problem. Unless of course he gets jailed or otherwise unable to get access to the rest of his money.

Wenger's moaning has worked - Arsenal get the benefit of a contentious decision?

In his post match press conference, when asked whether a few decisions went for him today, Wenger replied "I don't see where?". When pointed out that both goals were offside, he replied "I haven't seen that".

I would say that he's consistent, except he somehow managed to "see" Richarlison "dive" and Troy being offside. Hmmm.......

I ended up watching Palace Everton today. Don't let the scoreline fool you, Everton were absolutely dreadful. Only way they would ever score is through opposition mistakes, very much like our game a couple of weeks ago. Genuinely look like they will go down if they're new manager doesn't improve them, I think they've been lucky to not be lower on the table.

Mr IBB is in agreement with you HH.
He has said the whole Palace team were convinced that Niasse dived for the penalty and that Speroni was negligent, messing around right on half time and gifting the second equaliser.
Furthermore Benteke missed horribly near the end. Everton do seem to be riding their luck at present.

Wenger really is the worse for being so biased ..

Then again I like the fact Arsenal beat Spurs (will they fail to win anything again?)

Record spending in the league, yet so many poor sides.

After Arsenal round out the top 6, Burnley, us, Brighton, Huddersfield and Newcastle follow.

I think quality wise, the rest of the EPL sides are now fairly even. I think from that list, positions are now being assigned based on the following formula: position = manager quality + pluckiness + backroom set up.

Taking the Everton job sounds all well and good for Marco Silva, but I feel that he will still suffer from a severe lack of backroom set up and pluckiness, that will result in a midtable finish at best.

Burnley have amazingly scored just 12 goals in 12 games yet have 22 points. It’s all about the 1-0 or 0-0 With them. It would be incredible to see a team finish 7th scoring less goals than games played.

But we won 2-0 on Saturday so how does your flawed logic work? And what about goals conceded and clean sheets? Burnley have the joint THIRD best defence.

It's better to win 1-0 or draw 0-0 than lose 4-2 or 3-2. Doubt you would see a Sean Dyche side lose 6-0 or 7-1 at home.
