It's never going to be any of the 1st team squad, they've only been back a day and a half.

Dan Phillips is playing so I'd guess it's a mixture of U18 & U23s as they've been training for at least a week.

I'd hazard guesses at #12 Kane Crichlow, #9 Harry Forster, #5 Bayli Spencer-Adams & #6 Teddy Perkins in the picture at what looks like a corner.

Mason Barrett & Teddy Perkins are in the background as Dante Baptiste attempts to punch the ball (or the Gillingham player).

Harry Forster is behind the Gillingham player as he side foots the ball. Is that Andi Janjeva alongside Forster?

And possibly Janjeva again, this time being held off by the Gills #2.

Dan Phillips wore #4 in the kick-off picture.

Possibly JJ McKiernan wearing #11 in the picture where everyone is saying #5 is massive. I'm positive #5 is Spencer-Adams as he has broad shoulders but very slim lower legs.

In all seriousness, Gillingham put out what looks like a strong team, all first teamers, fairly young but with a degree of experience. Good workout for the boys

 

Estupinan is in the UK but has to quarantine for 2 weeks. I wonder how many other players have to do the same? Also, why can't the club's just get them tested rather than quarantining? It would be a blow if half the squad miss half of pre-season.

 

As per Leventhal, Estupinan is in the UK - but had to undertake 14 day quarantine before he can join pre-season.

While I understand quarantines/lockdowns are a fast moving situation, I’m surprised the club haven’t been more pro-active in making sure no players fall foul of them given the likely squad upheaval and truncated pre-season. Can easily see a situation where we don’t see Estupinan or Suarez until the end of October or something silly because they aren’t up to speed...

 

Perhaps the club could claim exception for whatever reason, but I am due to holiday in Croatia next week - which is on the verge of being added to the quarantine list. I asked the question yesterday to the relevant authorities that could I escape any quarantine sanctions by getting myself and my family tested privately on returning - was told very clearly no.

 

I’ve got a favour - a number of you are seeing videos which dont seem to be on the clubs website. I don’t do social media, so any chance these videos can be placed in here please?

I like seeing the training videos and the fun of who is that lurking near the back etc.

Our equaliser has a lovely through ball from Dan Phillips.
Sadly their 3rd showed him overplaying in midfield and losing the ball. In youth football he could muscle his way out of tight situations but against men it's not so easy. Hopefully he'll learn quickly and progress further this season.

 

Has Ivic got them all aboard the 'promotion bus' yet?

 

Good goal, could it have been anyone other than Cassidy playing as the striker?

Poor goalkeeping for their first one though, and whoever our right CB was (Broome?) looked terrible.

 

Definitely not Cassidy, he's already turning out for Accrington in their friendlies - scored 2 in 2 as well.

There was some pretty poor play elsewhere wasn't there!

Here's a lovely little free-kick by us which saw Jack Bonham make a decent save for the Gills. I'm not confident enough to say who our players involved were.
