Pre Season - 2020/21

Thread for all of those important pre season issues such as "who's that player?", "where's so-and-so?" and of course "is that Vydra in the background?"

So far, can confirm Masina looks in good spirits and Ivic is dressed pretty sharp.

 

I think Masina will do well this season.

 

I like a manager who dresses snappy. Never been a fan of one who wears club tracksuits, i think they need to set themselves apart from the players.

 

He could have put some socks on though.

This is the definition of 'unsnappy'. WTF is up with those jeans? That's no way to dress for a press conference.

 

That's the classic footballer-strain of 'fashion victim' rather than 'stylish', which is slightly odd given that Zidane had his own contract/line with Mango a couple of years ago. Shows the problems so many of them have when not being explicitly styled. Or, in the case of Man City, when they are too.

 

Or a mid-life crisis?

 

Just opinions of course, but it seems that “I’m your mate as well as your manager” approach is seen as a big part of Klopps success at Liverpool.

 

Already got a Foster interview up on social media saying he wasn’t that bothered about being relegated. Doesn’t sound that excited about working with Ivic either. Described it “rolling with the punches”.

 

Any news on any faces missing at the training ground this morning, or any new faces for that matter?

 

He can do one if he doesn't like it.

I know Ivic has a hard man reputation, but to give Foster a smack on day one is a bit harsh.

Ofcourse we can only go off what Watford post on to their social media accounts but so far all I’ve seen is Foster, Parkes, Dawson, Kabasele, Masina, Ngakia, Dele-Bashiru and Cleverley.

Kiko uploaded a sweaty selfie but he’s in last year’s training kit so I agree with Carpster he’s probably still in Spain.

 

Weird interview wasn't it. Seemed so non-plussed. Yes its just a job, but relegation hurt the fans. Acknowledge that, then say but its time to be positive etc.

If that's the squad attitude its no wonder we went down.

 

Why would he be bothered? He personally had a good season, he's not a Watford fan and is in the twilight of his career so a relegation won't make any difference to his future prospects.

 

Foster would just grin.

 

We all know what Foster is like, he's a positive guy who doesn't let football bother him. Plus he's right, if you're still down in the dumps about relegation then it's time to get over it.

 

Give them a new training top and it's all smiles again.

Great, Foster, Dawson, Masina, and Cleverley all back and raring to go - good to know we've already got the core of a dull-as-dishwater, mid-table Championship team settled and sorted.

Deeney is there in the latest video. Considering he’s been on holiday too as shown on his social media, then the timescale of this operation seems questionable. Hs he had it? Does he need it? Why he’s training if he’s not had it? Was he ever really injured?

Pereyra is somewhere considerably sunnier doing squats with fellow Argie and Udinese’s main man Rodrigo De Paul.

 

He’s definitely had it.
