Cude, check out moneysaving expert, do a search and most scams are written about in one form or another.

Cheers Admin shall check it out.

I intended to, but I'm getting called about twice a week, so it's difficult.

I've just got an £80 fine for litering. (i threw a vimto wrapper on the floor as i walked away from the cash point) and the nazis who failed at school issued it to me. they say i can pay £50 if its within the next 10 days (council)

    they can **** right off.

    what can i do?

Maybe put your Vimto wrapper in the bin next time?

    hmmm, exactly!

As for the car park thing you have to be careful. Don't just assume the car park is privately owned. Having worked in retail, our car park was owned by the council in actual fact! I'm, guessing this sainsburys car park is 100% a private one admin?

I wouldn't want to be in your position, for sure, but that was just pointless littering. Chuck it in a bin! If there isn't one around, pop in in your pocket and you will come across one soon enough! It's not like a small wrapper is a heavy burden is it?

The council would be the ones writing if it was a council car park.

Well up to this point we've not had any other contact. I parked in there in the Wife's car on Saturday night and was a little worried that they might have clocked that I was a non fine payer, but there was no need.

    Private, 100%.

Pay the fine. Littering makes me sick. I damn well hope that was not in Chorleywood?

Pay it. The longer you wait the more expensive it gets and in the long run it'll affect your credit rating.

Hopefully you won't do it again.

Incidentally, the method here is to have the vehicle towed and impounded for violating private property rules, rather than the easily ignorable fake ticket. The tow lot is the real pirate ship, and they don't give a rats butt what your story is..no pay, no car. Eventually, they charge you a daily fee for 'storage'. At some point the car has lien put on it for collection and could be auctioned off to pay for the storage, tow and impound fee. At least it doesn't hurt your credit...

    There's a T.V show about it too, On A&E I think

There's a ridiculous number of shows about towing on various channels. You're thinking of Parking Wars......starring the self-named Johnny Ticket.

We have one on TruTV called "Redneck Tow Wars" or something along those lines. Madness. Oh and one about Mexicans also.

I wish we'd have more TV shows about towing here, but the bloody Tories are cutting everything.

I'll trade you Parking Wars for a decent Tube line.

I'll give you the District Line or the Hammersmith and City Line. I doubt London would miss them.

Got a ticket off of NCP in St Albans the other day for parking in a 'reserved' spot or whatever, didn't realise at the time. Any advice on what I should do?

Officer Navas said I was going about 49 in a 35, which was weird because where I pulled over, there was a 40 mph speed limit sign right above the car. I thought it would be 9 over, but now it is 14... I think I am getting screwed by Long Beach PD.

I think it will be about $350. Plus traffic school to keep the point off... I drive for a living, so I have to manage the points carefully. On the other hand, it's my first moving violation in 3+ years, since I got nabbed for doing 99 in a 75... Everyone else was doing it!! That was my excuse...

Incidentally, I have been let off (sort of) only once in my life. I've gotten probably 12 moving violations since 1983 and all but one cop to pull me over was white. The black CHP clocked me at 90 in a 75 but wrote me up for a seatbelt instead. I hate white cops!

Got my first speeding ticket a couple of weeks back. 80 in a 65. It was an African-American officer. He wasn't very friendly. Had the choice of a $165 ticket or an online driver awareness course for $110. Obviously took the online thing.

In the year I've been here, my Mrs has been pulled over a couple of times and never received a ticket, despite one of the times having an expired state inspection sticker along with expired plates. Guess if you're a smiley blonde with boobies it helps.

Strangely, since February 10th, no more letters, no debt collection agency, no increased penalty notices, nothing.

I think it's safe to say the scammers were trying it on.

I like the bit about further recovery proceedings without warning. Sort of like a court case without telling us it's happening. Quality.

I'll let you know what happens in 5 days.
