You can't blame Kayembe, Sema and Ngakia too much though for some missing sharpness as they're all still only just back and don't yet seem 100%. Dennis is also still not fully there.

Lewis has always just strolled around.

Hamer didn't seem as focused today, sure. Not sure how much you can just read in to that though,

.... And the way we're playing we'll be in for some turgid games, all the bottom clubs will be right up for the fight and we know that our bunch are easily bustled out of games like this one.
    I think we're in for a horrible run-in now...

Yet again the parrot cry goes up - "Sack the Pozzos!". OK, sack them and replace them with who? Elton obviously doesn't want to know. Perhaps some dodgy sheikdom?

Lose at home to Swansea on Wednesday and we only have one “winnable” (on paper) fixture left.

Last 10 games of the season and 9 out of 10 are against teams above us.

6 points between us and relegation now.

I pinned us for relegation next season, apparently we want to do it this one. I am comforted though by realizing our place in the football world is league 1, so at least we will be were we belong and our fans can be happy. Got to remember this era fondly, been punching above our weight for over a decade. What a ride it’s been!

What worse than the run we're in now? ;)

But yes I do see your point of view and it's valid. We cannot seem to string five passes together let alone three or four wins. Last time we won four games back to back was under Xisco. I think we'll scrape through but it might be a lot closer than the current table suggests. However if we lose on Wednesday I think Gino will be tempted to make a change to help ensure we do stay above the dotted line.

Please refer to the myriad often well-informed and considered tens-to-hundreds-of-thousands of words of responses already written across this forum by plenty of us every other one of the 700 times someone has popped up with this 'be careful what you wish for' tripe over the past few years, including in just this very past week.

    I think it's no better than 50/50.
We're a soft touch and others are beginning to improve.
The players don't appear to have any confidence in the supposed tactics or themselves.
Some would say we deserve it.
I'm not sure all the fans do but given his ineptitude over five years and contempt for the fans,Pozzo does.
    Careful what you wish for?
Perhaps but this relationship ended a long time ago.

About the only thing as predictable as that result was this post. Pathetic. Happy when Watford lose as it's another opportunity to say "I told you so". Just tragic.

I'm very alarmed by what's happened to use since December or so. We don't have a physical, mental or technical edge now in any games and can't seem to put together a consistent performance.

I've really wanted VI to turn this around. He says the right things. He's a likeable character. He looked to have stabilised a wobble back in October by adapting his approach. But today he's lost me as he's not adapted his approach in either formation, tactics or personnel after apparently doing that in training. Today we were better keeping the ball but then what? This squad is consistently under performing now after the over performances before Christmas.

We've hit our physical wall this Season. VI has not rotated the squad enough during Xmas which he did well earlier in the Season and has run our more creative players like Koné into the ground. That Soton Cup Game for me is the damning fixture when he played neither a full strength team nor a 2nd string team and is a major reason why we've seen such fatigued players.

I still don't know what happened to the patterns of play, structured press and resisting the temptation to pass it sideways we saw at Season start as it looked like the football we'd wanted for 4-5 years before that point. Now we're as dire as we were at this point last year on the eye without Pedro to bail us out.

We'll steal a few wins to stay up but I have to say I'm very concerned for next Season regardless of manager.

I can’t understand how many are now saying we’re in a relegation fight? Where have you been all season??

We have so many fans who only react to the latest result and cannot see trends or likelihoods of how it will all play out. I’m not Mystic Meg, I’m just a regular fan, but I’m really tuned into how we play and I read the signs early on. I’ve always done this and I’ll back my track record as it’s decent (believe it or not). I don’t understand why it’s only myself who can see the faults. I suspect others can, but are scared to voice their concerns, until there is a common agreement amongst others. I get chased and ridiculed for my views, but they are always fair, if not popular.

Hopefully now the penny will drop. We are not chasing a play off place, we are not mid-table. We are a bottom 8 club now who are in a relegation battle.

Something has to change in a radical way, and I think the only thing that has any chance of reversing our fortunes, even if it’s only for a brief period, is a change of manager. A small boost, as that often brings, will be enough to get us over the line this season.

Hamer is starting to regress to the level we expect him to be plating at after a superb run of form. The goal was a nasty deflection and I'm not blaming him for that but he doesn't seem as focussed like the goal line clearance when he didn't take control as he should have done. Still prefer him to Bachmann. Lewis can do one. He's a nothing player who doesn't beat his man, put it in or defend well. A loan I understand why we made it but has been a failure. Sierralta and Hoedt played well in fairness to them. Ngakia was not awful and not good. Kayembé was lacklustre again and Livermore cannot carry the midfield by himself and Asprilla can't be the only play we rely on to make a forward run or pass. Bayo missed a difficult chance in the 6 yard box but didn't do much else. Sema has been awful since his injury and Dennis doesn't work out wide despite his endeavour. He got to play centrally. Koné didn't offer much more when he came on while Andrews took a few heavy kicks including a tackle that could have been a red another day. Rajovic has a Healey-esque throw so that's a bonus.

We must chance our shape and approach next game as 4-3-3 is not working. Go 4-4-2.

    Hamer
    Andrews - Sierralta - Hoedt - Morris
    Asprilla - Livermore - Koné - Martins
    Bayo - Dennis
Subs: Bachmann, Porteous, Lewis, Ngakia, Dele-Bashiru, Kayembé, Chakvetadze, Ince, Sema, Rajovic

I wonder what our relegation odds are today? That’s always used as a way to defuse my claim we’re in a relegation fight. I bet it’s no longer 450/1 as it was claimed only last week.

With this being their first home game since Harris's return Millwall were always going to be pumped up and that was the case. We played well second half without creating much thanks to Millwall's commitment. Talk of relegation is hysterical nonsense

Shame that Asprilla turned his back to the ball for their goal.

We just offer absolutely nothing in the final third. We run around on the box just waiting to get tackled.

What about when you kept saying we’d go down under Walt even when it was mathematically impossible, and when you kept saying we’d stay up under Hodgson etc?

Zero quality, from both teams. A pissy sh1tty deflected free kick is the difference between 2 poor sides.

Is there some far-fetched idea that if we pass it around going nowhere us fans will be satisfied at our possession based 'style of play'. We look totally blunt. No threat at all. Did we even have one decent attempt in the last 20mins when chasing the game? Counter that to how many touches Ben Hamer had.

Players afraid of taking chances, no responsibility to try make things happen, would rather play it safe and lay it off to someone, only for that player to have the same mentality.

Our two best players, one is 19, and the other isn't fit.

I wasn't expecting anything out of todays game, but therein lies the problem. Why are expecting nothing out of a game at 19th placed Millwall? Depressing state of affairs.

Mods, could you confirm if these are real accounts please, or is it just one of my haters stirring the pot?

2 dreadful sides, only a lucky deflection between us. We barely even went close, a tame livermore shot was our only real attempt. Val has started to lose me now, we are so one dimensional it's painful to watch. We don't have the players to play this pass out the back thing, it's so predictable and blunt.

Lewis is an absolute disgrace and has been all season. Soft, scared, plays it back every time and doesn't even look like he's bothered we are losing.

How many performances like this have we had to endure under the Pozzos? It's absolutely disgusting.

Yeah he did, you just need to remind him of this post he made on 23rd December after the win vs Blackburn:

"This will delight the haters......but I was wildly wrong about us. No way are we going to be bottom 6 now."

Just be warned that he'll probably block you for mentioning it though.
