Back at Watford apparently... http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/02/matej-vydra-back-at-watford/ Just for treatment on an injury...
I think with the slight change of formation with Amrabat playing behind two strikers on Saturday would suit Vydra, he works well with Deeney and having Amrabat/Jurado behind two strikers would work I think. I hope they give him a chance if/when Ighalo gets sold in the summer.
I thought of that, as that's an area we're probably strongest in which he would be up against - has he ever played as a full back or has his position always been as a central defender? Seems like he has the versatility to potentially thrive in other positions.
I wouldn't, didn't say id drop the current players but I'm sure Angella would rather sit on the bench at a mid table Prem club than a mid table Champ club.
Simple go three centre backs at the back, get Nyom/Parades Holebas/Ake bombing down the flanks. Only difficulty is deciding if you play Cathcart, Britos + Angella or Prodl. Of course that means you have a central midfield three. But with the potential of Iggy leaving in the summer Vydra might feed off of through balls from the wing backs
Another thought is to retain Cathcart and Britos's richly deserved places in the team and play Angella alongside them in a return to a 3-5-2 to give us much needed width. Maybe I'm dreaming as though as Flores isn't Joka, and even if he does try some more adventurous tactics once safety is assured and Angella returns for next season, he'll probably revert to the conservative approach as avoiding relegation will still be priority with the possibility of second season syndrome. EDIT: AndrewH63 just beat me to it!
Angella could provide an alternative option up front. With our goal scoring problems I think he'd be a useful option to replace Iggy.
Really? Would you play him ahead of one or more of Britos, Cathcart or Prodl? One of the reasons we leaked goals last season was his tendency to lose his man in the penalty area. A very stylish footballer, but his concentration level is too low for a top-class defender.
Why Why Why is Vydra who we know scores amazing goals not on our bench or date I say it available for the starting line up.I know his on loan for the season but our lack of goals and creativity and pace show the decision to loan him out was in my opinion the worst of a few. I do hope all parties involved can sort it out so he is with us next season in the PL.
It's been sad seeing him at Reading this season. So clear that he is on a much higher level than every other player in the side. Despite him being able to show the odd flash of individual brilliance the Reading players just aren't intelligent enough to spot his runs and play to his strengths. Really hope we give him a chance next season. Luckily we haven't sold him like Fessi. We could have done with both of them as options this season.
3-5-2 is a good 4-4-2 killer but the minute you run into 4-5-1 and it's variants you start getting killed in behind the wingbacks and then struggle to track the midfield runners. Only Leicester and sometimes us are playing a proper 4-4-2 in the PL so it's really not worth training for. There is merit for 3-4-3 but we don't have the top players you need for it to work.
I don't think Flores liked his attitude going by the comments made when Vydra left... So not sure he will come back...
Flores said he didn't adapt to the 1 up front system. By game 4 we were playing 2 up front. He would have been a great option this season either to bring off the bench or to keep an out of form Ighalo on his toes. I assumed when he was loaned out that we would bring in another striker but that didn't really happen (not one ready for the first team anyway). Definitely a mistake not to have kept him around.
He has scored 2 goals in 22 appearances for Reading. What makes you think he would do better in the Premier, especially after being largely a failure when last in it with West Brom?
I'm sorry, but if he was good enough he'd still be here. He hasn't pulled up any trees at Reading. Sell or loan to a League 1 club if Reading don't come in for him
He wasn't playing alongside Troy Deeney at either club. And once again, similar to Iggy + Deeney - when it comes to a Deeney + Vydra combo, the sum is greater than the parts. We already know that. Tbh, for me it brings home Troy's value to the club even more so.
Didn't he have a tantrum about not being able to be our number 1 striker? Recon we'll sell him to Sheffield Wednesday.
If Sheffield Wednesday have a team made up of Vydra, Forestieri and Pudil I don't think I could continue to justify supporting Watford ahead of them.
The great goals he has scored played for us are enough to make me think he would be a great option to have back. If you think the likes of Amrabat can score those goals then think on,from what I have seen no one on the Watford Books (except Deeney and Iggy) can score the quality and quantity goals he does.So simple he should be our 3rd striker And be playing in games against slower central defenders.A far better option to lumping it up front hoping for a knock down.
IMO : Metersacker, Koscielny,Lescott,Richards,Francis,Distinct,Cook,Terry,Cahil,Dann,Ward,Hangeland,Jagielka,Huff,Morgan,Weislwelka, Skertal,Lovren,Toure,Otamendi,Demechalis,Coloccini,Taylor,Bassong,Olsson,Fonte,Vertonghan,Shawcross,O'shea,Brown,Kaboul,Williams,(Prodil,Cathcart),McAuley,Dawson,Evans,Olsson,Chester,Collins and Tompkins. Also others but I'm not to sure as not seen enough of them. I'd fancy Vydra beating all these in a foot chase onto a decent ball played behind them.
Of course he could beat most defenders, he's lightning. Surely he's doing that in the Championship though and where has that got him this season? Anya is fast but so what? Doesn't mean he's a great player.
Not sure I said he was great, just pointing out he scores and has a track record of scoring some super goals for us and as such imo would have been an asset this season. Those who choose to forget those goals ,that's fine.Who would you get in as our 3rd striker ? because what we have dosent come up to the standard required.
Vydra is going to be our super sub next season, him and Oulare will be different options and I reckon after having a **** season this year Vydra will be up for it. Maybe this season will be a wake up call for him.
Maybe a wake up call this year for Vydra. If he comes back and works his socks off and realises there isn't an i in team then I would welcome him back as he offers us something we don't currently have and that's pace. Outside of Mighty Mo, I've not seen a better natural finisher. Would love him back with the right attitude but we were correct to let him go this season as by all accounts his mindset was not right
What accounts? maybe I've genuinely missed it but this thing about his attitude appears to have been completely fabricated and then accepted as fact.
I have to say moog your attitude has been troubling for a few months now. How does a season loan to the Bristol City forum suit you?
