I mean, what’s being touted is an obligation to buy isn’t it so I doubt that’ll be the case.

And if it’s not, he scores 20 goals, returns and we are in the PL, I really doubt the club will say no.

If he doesn’t want to be here then he’s better off gone. Shame but it’s what football has become. Too much player power.

I’m not worried, he easily could be another acuna and you can guarantee we will do well out of any of his future success.

This loan deal is still just a rumour, right?

If he does leave, we probably could've granted Zaragoza the loan extension they requested

Yes, but he was photographed in Spain which is pretty conclusive. Unless we are happy for him to quarantine a second time.

Do you still have to quarantine if you've already had Covid (which he supposedly has)?

Serious question, I have no idea.

Journalist claims it was taken Saturday, but more than possible. The whole thing seems very odd, we’ve been rejecting quite a few permanent offers, such was our desperation for him to stay. Weird we’d then loan him out. Ivic didn’t mention him when listing strikers yesterday so fairly certain he will be gone this week.

  9. I think we wanted to keep him, but it's more important we find the ~£60m delta in revenue. Doucs + Estupinan + Suarez makes ~£50m so nearly there. Del going will smash it. So no panic sale of Sarr and we're top 3 and developing nicely on the pitch.

Remember we're not going to receive all of that money in one go, we've received about £25m so far, soon to be about £28m if Suarez does get finalised. Say Pereyra brings us to about £40m, but nobody else seems imminent, even if Geri goes, it's most likely it's a loan of some sort imo

if you want to over a returning loanee who might never cut it in the championship, then sure! lol

It's funny how when we hadn't made any signings, the clappers heralded the return if Estupinan and Suarez as 'like new signings.'

As soon as both have been moved on, however, the narrative is 'they weren't suited to us.'

"Might never cut it in the championship" but is good enough for a team in the Europa league and to have the Spanish NT selectors interested in him.

Let's instead rely on Gray, Perica and Deeney, who almost certainly won't cut it in the Championship. But hey, we signed Stevenson and Joe Garner so we are fine.

I do think Gray is decent enough at this level and Perica is an okay plan B in the last 10-15 of a game if we are struggling but Deeney and Murray are dog **** and the less they play the better.

You can't bank on winning every game 1-0 and I really am struggling to see where the goals are coming from in this side.

On the bright side Luis Suarez just watched his name sake humiliate Granada so hopefully he is on his way back here to save some serious bedwetting.

yes but one season does not necessarily make him invaluable. everyone has their price, if they have met his so be it. he clearly didnt want to be here, if it means we are closing to filling the financial black hole we find ourselves in then so be it.

im certainly not going to be getting upset over a striker and a left back who to be quite frank clearly did want to play for us. let them go, and we will get someone in to do the job who does want to be here.

thats a little bit unfair moog, what about pedro and sarr? or any of the other possible strikers we might bring in before the window shuts.

My point as I have made clear over and over again is that I have absolutely no issue with him being sold. I am not oblivious to the financial situation.

My problem is that loaning him out doesn't help the financial situation or the footballing situation. All it does is weaken our squad.

Look at it this way - we are getting circa £3m for a striker who scored 19 goals and got 6 assists last season. If you honestly think that is good business from Pozzo then I am just wasting my time.

Let's see if we don't sell Sarr. Pedro is decent. Not sure he's an out and out striker yet, but I'll grant you he's been good so far.

We aren't signing any decent players. 100%.

Yet crap like Perica is desperately played up as a "smart" signing.

We better hope we continue to be strong at the back because there really isn't many goals in the squad at all.

If our squad stays much as it looks now, then Ivic is performing miracles if he gets us to 6th place.

We are deficient in several positions and the squad is wafer thin. Injuries and suspensions will decimate us.

We do not appear to be taking this season seriously as a club.

but most of the reports are suggesting a loan with permanent sale at the end of it, i reckon probably as granada like other clubs are struggling for liquid cash this summer. at the end of the day the pozzos are businessmen, it makes no sense to undervalue an asset. i never get why we fans get so upset about perceived transfer fees. its not money coming out of our pockets.

i havnt seen enough of suarez to have an opinion on him, but if he doesnt want to be here then he may as well go if the financials are good for the owners.

i agree i think jp is better as a number 10. if we can keep sarr then i think along with perica, gray, deeney and murray we have options. if a couple of those players can get to 10 or so goals this season then we will do ok.

ivic bases his teams on defensive solidity and winning games 1 or 2 to nothing, but also on generating scoring from all over the pitch. i expect the midfield to chip in with a few and probably the wing backs too.

if sarr goes and we dont bring in some extra players then i would be concerned.

however at the moment we have 7 from 9 with a pretty threadbare squad, and the club hierachy keep saying give us until the end of the window. im giving them that chance.

Because it is a trite argument.

Fans should care about the money spent / earned on transfers because they have a significant impact on the club they support, especially at one where the owners do not have lots of money.

What option does Murray offer us other than practice for playing with a red card

If Murray scores 10 goals I'll be in the ******* pond.

I think trying to win games 1-0 is a very risky game in this division. Very few sides are promoted automatically with that kind of record. You can be defensive and organised, but if you aren't regularly scoring 2+ you will drop points.
