Screw it. I'll start the chat!

I can’t believe how much ridiculous media hype Liverpool are getting this year, even at lunch on sky sports today they had Phil Thompson spouting his 5 reasons that they will win the league, I’m sure one of which was that they had 11 players starting each game. It was pretty much “1. Jurgen Klopp is the new saviour of the world. 2. We’ve got 11 players starting every game. 3. Were the mighty Liverpool. 4. Jurgen Klopp is the new saviour of the world. (did I already say that?)”.

What a load of utter tripe.

Every day a random old Liverpool player is rolled out in front of us to tell us how fantastically amazing everything is with Liverpool and the new saviour. This love in with Jurgen Klopp “ooh Jurgen we love you”, “ooh Jurgen, how amazing it was that you broke your glasses because you’re such an awesome guy that you just love your amazing team and your amazing self so much”, “ooh Jurgen what a great formation you put out”, “Ooh Jurgen what was the secret behind your amazing transformation of the greatest football team in the world”, “Ooh Jurgen when you win the league with your amazing team, what’s the first thing your amazing self will amazingly be doing to celebrate how absolutely fantastic you and you team are”. “Ooh Jurgen what colour are your underpants this evening”. It’s like utterly ridiculous. Bonkers. Why is everyone in the media so desperate for Liverpool to do so well that they orgasm every time they get to spout out some other ar$ecarp about what a great and fantastic team Jurgen Klopp is creating and how wonderful it is that he has graced the humble premier league with his almighty presence.

Why are they all so desperate for this second rate team to get back to the heights of success they really had so, so, so long ago now. I mean, they last won the league 26 years ago. TWENTY SIX YEARS AGO. It’s not like they’ve fallen recently. They’ve not been champions for 26 years. Get over it media. Get goddamn over it.

Now I have absolutely nothing personal against Liverpool, Heck it would be good for a second team of minnows in a row to topple the other giants of English football. But this media love in is just sickening.

We need to stuff them… Heck, even if we stuffed them 5-0 the media would massage Jurgen’s ego telling him how it’s the awful ugly side of English football that some little brats like Watford can come along and have the audacity of winning at the famous Liverpool in front of the awesome and most amazing fans in the world on the kop, and ruining his perfectly good day. The papers the next day would be full of how amazing Jurgen is that he showed such god-like composure after the defeat and how he’s so amazing that he will turn it around and “oh when he almost lost his glasses again, whadda super guy”. The Telegraph would have a field day about how we had 11 men on the pitch, that one of our players got on the bus without a ticket so should be investigated, or that Capoue’s socks were 2mm higher that the premier league regulation 32 mm below the knee so the game should be forfeit and awarded to the glorious and obviously cheated Liverpool.

    1-3 Watford.

Oh, and Happy Birthday. Probably anyway.

Meh! Sorry but wrote my "Lawrenson prediction" stuff without reading your write up so apologies if I in any way breached your copyright. I prefer to think that great minds think alike.

I'm just hoping we put in a good performance, even if we don't win. I don't want to get up at 5am on a Sunday to go all that way to watch us lose and not even try.

Leivapool FC v Watford FC, Sunday November 6th 2:15 pm

    [IMG] V[IMG]

As the preview has again gone missing, this one can stand to get conversation going. Will Success be fit? How bad was Prodl's injury v Hull? If he's out is Cathcart ready? Taken from redandwhitekop.com, these are the stats against Liverpool; of course, the one that is the most accurate predictor is the 3-0 drubbing handed out at the Vic a year ago, rather than the limp 'grey-period' Sanchez Florez defeat at Anfield earlier this year. Other than that, as ever, historical stats are completely irrelevant as the teams and managers were completely different 10, 20 years ago. Anyway...

Liverpool are on a fantastic run and seemingly score at will, but are unable to keep a clean sheet. Watford have kept 3 clean sheets in a row but desperately need a kick up the arse in the forward line, and a better link between midfield and attack. Who will prevail?

In the spirit of previous match threads, here are some pictures of local ruins:

Ha no worries. Looks like yours was posted before mine anyway!

Sorry GOBE. Yours is much better than mine which is more like a rant than a match review!!!

The reason why we're force fed a diet of Liverpool sh!t is because the ex-players from their glory years (30 years ago!!) are now pundits.

Good news is that they are largely becoming an irrelevance amongst younger fans (even Chelsea shirts are more popular now), and they will one day join the illustrious other 'pools' Hartle and Black.

It would be nice to think that we'll do our bit on Sunday to keep them tumbling towards the obscurity they deserve.

Pes says - we win 2-0. That's me playing pes 17 for anyone not paying attention.

Pererya drive from 18 yards. Success header seals it. I'm not sure what's going on but every game has had the right result and am now getting scorelines right.

There's almost zero chance we will keep a clean sheet but I'm confident we will stick something up them.

I like Klopp, have really enjoyed watching the football Liverpool play this season and wouldn't mind if they won the league. Sorry. Would like it even more if they won the league despite losing a couple of fixtures that, on paper, looked nailed on victories - namely, away to Burnley and at home to Watford. Sadly, can't see beyond a home win though.

Prodl out injured is bad news.

And no one has mentioned the magnificent new expanded 3rd tier on the main stand - all the pundits and commentators salivate over it and the extra noise that will intimidate and blow away all visitors.

    1-1 draw

Prodl being out might mean Walter's forced into using a flat back 4 with Janmaat at RB. I'm not sure that's necessarily a bad thing.

I was born in the 90s.

In my eyes, Liverpool are a smaller club than Blackburn.

To be fair, I'd ask him that every evening if I could, have you seen the man?

Prodl being out is bad news. The bloke is a rock and I don't know if either Britos or Kaboul can be as dependable as he is, and in front of a Liverpool side that scores for fun these days, that is perhaps the worst injury we could have suffered. I hope we raise our game a bit for a match against a big club and I expect that we will not be whipped like they would whip a side like West Brom, but I can't see us doing anything but lose here. The important part will be how well we can play regardless.

I don't hate Liverpool and out of the big English clubs they seem to be the one with the most soul. Hopefully we can trouble them, I have to wonder how Mazzarri will approach this game. My prediction is 2-1 to Liverpool, goal from Pereyra.

Much as the ex Liverpool media posse are annoying I still have to admit I love Klopp too and would welcome him to Watford for his next job.

But I hope we do them over like last year at home.

Can we recall Mooney if Success is injured?

Not sure Prodl missing is that big a deal for this one - they hardly play with a strapping 6'4 centre forward do they. Marking the midfield runners and movement will be key. Can't see us getting anything though....0-2

I think Kasabele would be more effective against Liverpool than Prodl or Kaboul for that matter.

There's no doubt Prodl has been excellent of late but Wilson gave him the run around and Cortina and The Cat from Red Dwarf would almost certainly have been even more of a nuisance. Not to mention Mane.

It will be very interesting to see if Walter adopts a Jose approach.

I will need to select my very best lucky underwear I fear.

Does anybody know who will be the starting 11. We are looking a few key players short. Would have looked Success to start.

I think we'll do ok. As long as the players don't get starstruck by the mere presence of Herr Klopp, or blinded by the godlike bright aura surrounding his very soul, we should be ok.

Hit them on the break and test their awfully clumsy defense and we'll get a couple of goals. We'll have some decent pace on the wings with Holebas and Janmaat, Deeney will pressure and muscle their defense out of sight, and Ighalo will do something, not sure what.

This is one of those accumulator bankers that sometimes just inexplicably is the one game that lets you down.

Agreed. So long as we look like we are trying to win rather than trying to protect a 0-0 draw then I will be content.

Where are people drinking before for this one?

i think we will set up very defensively for this game to be wary of their counter attack, then maybe try and grab a goal against the run of play

This will be a very difficult game Liverpool are in fine form and score plenty of goals. I wouldn't mind to much if Mazzari sets out defensively for this one. I would be happy with a point away to a quality side and on recent form probably the best side in the league. However we are not in bad form ourselves and against a side who will be looking to attack more there will be more space in the final third and we could be dangerous on the counter attack. Watford also have the tallest side in the league and Liverpool clearly have problems defending set pieces if we put the ball into the box on Sunday we are going to cause their defence problems. I think we could bully these a little bit on Sunday but we really have to be up for it especially Troy Deeney who bullied their defence at home last season.

At 4.45pm, the former. But during the 90 mins of nail biting football I would have endured before then I'd be screaming for the latter!
