Every time we started something the Lesta boyz nearest us would take it over and turn it into their song, which then got the rest of their crowd going with the happy clappys. We had a tactical rethink cos it was obvious we were instrumental in generating their atmosphere, so we cleverly reverted to Lololololo knowing that was one song the thieving bastards couldn't nick, but even that got a bit boring toward the end.
Leicester's home support was good to be fair. As bad as the clappy papers are, they did get the whole stadium involved.
I thought we were a bit flat to be honest but a couple of my Leicester Supporting mates who were in the stand opposite us said we were the best away fans they've had this season. One of my mates loves our QSF chant, he said he couldn't get it out of his head all Saturday night!
It's getting a theme that Prem away fans are very quiet compared to Championship fans. Another reason why the Championship is a better craic.
There's a video from the West Ham game of Watford fans waving flags and singing at the same time. I guess they must all be wearing head torches? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWY7OVjTcR0
They are dismal and I seem to remember them from the '90s at The Vic,although it may have been later? They have them in the Davis Cup and aren't too bad there but they're daft for football I think.
I'm interested to know what the tune is called, unless even that was composed by the Athletico supporters?
I must be bored but managed to track it down for you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvQYFbByEow Carnaval, Carnaval by Georgie Dann I quite like it but it is pretty cheesey!
Brilliant! Thank you so much! It sounds so different with the Latin rhythm, but those kind of songs can make great football songs!
Maybe we can make a song for Nyom out of this: Alma Redemptoris Mater, quæ pervia cæli Porta manes, et stella maris, succurre cadenti, Surgere qui curat, populo: tu quæ genuisti, Natura mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem Virgo prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore Sumens illud Ave, peccatorum miserere
No, looked through the comments on some of the old Atletico videos and saw that someone had asked this question in Spanish and luckily someone else had replied.
"This is the worst thing about coming to Leicester Ben. Old jug ears shat himself and wiped it on the pitch again!"
"Yeah, that's the crisp factory round the corner Ben. They must be making the cheese and onion today....."
