Watford will be cheered on by well over 3000 fans at Leicester, so the supporters should give the team all the backing they need, in what looks on paper like a very tough fixture for the boys.

Head-to-head shows Leicester holding the upper hand:
    Leicester: 24
    Watford: 18
    Draws: 17

Since the turn of the century:
    Leicester: 9
    Watford: 6
    Draws: 5

So, not even recent form favours us – but are we gloomy, no we’re not! We have a defensive line that has some real backbone to it – we don’t get pulled about easily and are difficult to breakdown – in midfield, we are determined, workmanlike and possess a fair amount of flair – upfront we have a great partnership in Deeney and Ighalo, add to that a strong subs bench – Leicester should not under-estimate us.

It would be easy to reflect on ‘that’ game, but I’ll leave that to the lucky so and so who has the job of writing the preview for the home game against the Foxes.
We can’t dismiss Leicester, they are a decent side, one which we should be aspiring to follow in terms of development – they looked in for a dog fight last season but they the team and they the fans, kept the faith and a great run in saw them secure their Premier League survival. It didn’t come as a total surprise that they parted company with Nigel Pearson in the summer, but it has to be acknowledged what a good job he did – by whatever means it took!

Hopefully the team will give us all something to cheer about, if you’re travelling by car, be very careful where you park – they have a tendency in Leicester to suddenly start digging up car parks!

Referee: Roger East – another newly promoted referee from the Football League, he’s refereed us before on a few occasions – the last being rather notable as it was our first victory away from home for the season at Newcastle – more of the same Mr East please!

    Famous people associated with Leicester:
The Attenborough brothers: David and Richard; Joseph Merrick (aka The Elephant Man); Gary Lineker (aka Joseph Merrick); David Icke (a footballer, sportscaster but probably best renowned for his turquoise period) and Thomas Cook.

    Jelboy’s Prediction:
A tough day at the office, but I can see us nicking an away win by the odd goal, whether that’s 0-1 or 2-3 I have not a clue. Those travelling; be safe and I’ll see you there COYH!

I'm rubbish at adding images etc. - so over to you guys

I think that moment was the greatest rush I will ever get from football.

    Thanks Leicester.

In return, I will always remember you as more than just an average midlands side which plays in a naff crisp bowl.

Best thing that happened to us. Came back hungrier and demolished the league and haven't looked back since. Just saying lol

Nobody cares. Same goes to all the Leicester fans who predictably say "yeah but you lost the final m8 lolz", who cares? We're in the Premier League now and we have that day which nobody can take away from us.

With Chalobah's goal, Vydra's first goal in the second leg and the DEEEEENEY goal, Leicester games make up three of my favourite goals I've seen Watford score (though I didn't see Chalobah's live).

Oh no I get that it was a big moment for you I just think a lot of Watford fans think we care about it. It was a crazy minute of football though. So glad we didn't go up that year as we'd have never survived in the prem.

It always makes me laugh how Lesta fans always feel the need to tell us how they don't care about that game and how they're in a such a better shape now because of it.

I don't care that they don't care and I care even less about how they're doing now. That moment was ours and the only relevance they have to it is that they happened to be the team who's pants we pulled down in order to achieve it.

This should be a good game between two teams exceeding their pre season expectations. Really impressed with your defensive resilience, usually tough for promoted teams to look so solid at the back. The front two of Deeney and the ever impressive Ighalo look to be clicking well too. Think both teams are dead certs for survival this season :)

As for the game itself it could be a tough one to call. We will be hoping home advantage gives us the ede but I just have a horrible feeling you could frustrate us if you don't give us space in behind. Vardy and Mahrez are our obvious ones to watch but players like Kante, Albrighton and Drinkwater have all looked superb for us too. As good as our attack has been we do look fragile (almost Kamikaze) at the back. We don't defend set pieces at all so if you're good from them expect a goal or two. It's the dreaded international break after this game so both clubs will be wanting to take the 3 points into the break

    Match prediction

    Leicester 3 Vardy x 2 Ulloa

    Watford 1 Ighalo

Good luck for the rest of the season, hope you stay up and we both keep upsetting the big boys

Achieve what though? Surely actually getting promoted was better?

A moment of sheer euphoria and brilliance that can't be replicated and gained the club worldwide exposure.

Life is all about moments. The playoff semi was a great moment (although understandably not for you Leicester fans). Given the choice between an alternate reality where that moment never happened but we got promoted under Zola vs reality, I'd take reality every time. Some moments are just incredibly special, regardless of what comes afterwards.

Getting promoted was undoubtedly great, but it was a bit of an anticlimax for us since we got promoted well after the end of the Brighton game. It had a bit of a surreal feeling to it.

On another note, if we had not made a late defensive mistake v Everton and if Capoue had not have missed an open goal v Southampton, we'd be in a quite incredible 7th position right now.

    Very fine margins indeed.

Sadly I have important birthday alcohol business to take care of (not mine sadly) so I will miss this one. 'Gutted' doesn't come close, but I'll be in the lovely Lincoln getting ****faced and eating from my favourite grubby Mexican takeaway so that's salve to my wound.

In terms of the game, I have no idea whether it'll be an absolute snooze-fest or goal bonanza. Both teams have been really good throughout 2015 for the most part and I haven't a clue who'll win.

Have a safe journey up and enjoy the game.

If we have sold c. 3,500 tickets (3,250 + 250), this could be our largest away following for a league match for quite a while.

  30. Can see it going either way but think our strong defence will edge Lesta's strong attack

0-1 maybe, or 1-0, not many goals in it

Indeed, was talking to someone at work who asked me what the greatest game I've ever seen was. They don't follow football so were unaware of it, one brief explanation of the circumstances and a YouTube video later and they said it was a pretty special goal and must've been awesome to been there.

For me, one of the biggest yardsticks is that it got shown, repeatedly, on a large number of US networks.

Football generally doesn't get any airtime whatsoever on US TV. Even the Yanks realised how incredible the play off goal was.

I can see both sides scoring but I think we will win the game as Leicester defence is a bit suspect.

I'm probably one of very few who wasn't looking forward to this game because of that goal. Give me the win at Brighton last season over that goal any day. Like Leicester I'm glad we didn't go up as we were not ready. It appears so far that both clubs benefitted from not getting promoted that year as both doing pretty well now.
Really tough game for us but after the last two games I don't think we need to be scared about anyone. Wouldn't turn my nose up at a point though!!

I think the reason we feel confident is that:

A: QSF seems to finally have got that right balance between being defensively solid and making fast transitions to attack. Stoke and West Ham have shown huge gains being made here.

B: Like Vardy and Mahrez, we have Ighalo and Deeney. Your strikers are quicker certainly, but our defence will likely sit deeper to compensate. I can certainly see them pulling a goal or two though regardless. Deeney and Ighalo rough up defences more, with Deeney seemingly doing most of that work and Ighalo then getting that extra bit of space and time to finish it.

C: QSF appears to really dig into the opposition and seemingly formulate a paln that works very well. I doubt this game will be an exception.

Whatever happens it should hopefully be entertaining. Therefore I'll be putting a bet on a Leicester win as my luck seems to do over the opposing team every time! :]]
