  2. Don't like this thread. Besides, if you are going to pick on Jurado, what about :sad3: or :dismay: ?

Much improved display today, and offered much more without being shackled to defend. Either that or he's just inconsistent.

Either way I'd like to see him next season and see how it goes from there.

2027 minutes played and 2 assists, so that's one every 17 hours on the pitch, no goals of course. You can blame QSF for playing him out of position all you want but over the course of an entire season you'd expect if there was a decent player in there somewhere there would a bit more evidence.

Stormed past me on Cardiff Road after the game - because he was in an Audi. Utterly useless

Has not been good enough, his bit of skill cutting inside doesn't make up for the lack of creativity and any cutting edge.Shots from distance have been pretty rare and not threatening at all.Should be on his way on loan or otherwise as WFC will not improve its league position if it relies on this guys contribution.

I've been supportive of the idea of cutting our losses and getting rid while not totally ruling out the possibility that he'll be a useful player under a different (hopefully more attacking) manager next season, but apart from a woeful shot second half, I struggle to see how people could find much fault with him today. He managed to draw a foul from John O'Shea (who otherwise did a solid job in keeping Iggy out) to win the penalty and a point so he must have been doing something right to worry their defence (of which he actually managed to get the better of Yedlin, not his greatest strength up to now), and was unlucky not to get an assist or two. There's more to being a midfielder than goals or assists, and there have been a fair few goals that he has played some part in, if not directly (out of the top of my head, Layun's at Everton, Ake vs Liverpool, Watson at West Brom). If he had better attacking players around him other than Deeney and Iggy who were prepared to make more runs into the box, I daresay he'd have had a lot more assists by now.

It's not everything but Berghuis and Gueds both have 2 assists in the league this season. More than Jurado with probably HALF the overall minutes.

    More goals too.

    That is kinda worrying.

Guedioura, Diamanti, and even Vydra (Joka played him behind the forward line and he was fine)... would have given us a better return than Poo-rado this season in the role he's been played.

    Don't try to polish shⅰt.

Regardless of he coach's tactics and being played out of position, Jurado Simply hasn't given me the impression that he really gives a ****.

He's obviously talented, but whether this is the wrong league, we are the wrong club, his legs have gone, or he's just on a gradual decline, eking out a few more pay days before retirement, it doesn't matter.

He's had more than enough chances to impress this season and apart from isolated moments of technique, he's shown nothing of value.

Get rid. Send him to China, Dubai or America where he'll fit perfectly.

You certainly could not accuse him of not giving a sh1t yesterday....ran his socks off, always looking to break forward and be positive, very committed and won the penalty.

His performance was recognised by the standing ovation he got when he was subbed!

I wasn't there, but that's one game. I've seen plenty which suggest the opposite.

    GoingDown "The Stability"

'Ake vs Liverpool'? I'm not sure how you could attribute the keeper dropping the ball at his feet as anything to do with Jurado. Did he shout in his direction? Did his perfectly styled barnet distract the keeper?

And you are right, there's more to midfielders than goals and assists. The majesty of Jurado's play needs no goals or assists. He took the ball past Yaya Toure once.

  20. Meh!

    Meh! Pre-Dictator

He had a pretty good game yesterday. 90% of the time looked forward rather than back, a couple of belters from outside the box, looked to take his man on going forward.

Seemed a different player. Perhaps doing what he wanted rather than what he was told with no managerial comeback? Perhaps looking to get the new guy to see what he can do? Perhaps hoping that another team saw him and will want him.

Whatever it was, in my opinion he had a really good game and would like to see more of that Jurado next season.

Agreed - one of his best performances yesterday. Actually looked dangerous and incisive rather than just recycling possession.

He linked up with Ake to force the original corner that led to the goal, I'm not saying it was an assist, but he did set the ball rolling.

I agree. I've never seen him so positive. Under instructions from the head coach (if so, why not earlier?), to impress his next boss at Watford or elsewhere, or because Gueds was setting a more positive tone in the middle of the park? He even challenged for the ball sometimes and got into the box for the penalty, as well as producing a lovely pass to put Troy through on goal.

That said, he was way short of man-of-the-match even in a game against Sunderland reserves - it was no more than a "7/10, met requirements" which is what should have been expected of him almost every week.

In fairness, that Sunderland team yesterday is probably a better bet for pushing on than the first XI who have been largely playing crap and narrowly avoiding relegation four seasons in a row.

Exactly, finally someone that gets it. It's not that Jurado isn't good enough to play for us, it's that the other players aren't good enough to play with him. The only reason people think he had a poor season is because he didn't have better players running onto his passes.

You are also completely right that there is more to an attacking, creative midfielder than goals and assists. Too many people just focus on that aspect of the game and think things like "but someone like Wes Hoolahan managed 4 goals and 8 assists in an absolutely dreadful relegated team" but they are missing out on the bigger picture. Jurado brings so much more to the table - he is second to none at finding a little bit of space, has an amazing first touch, and is always looking to keep the ball. It's just a shame that apart from Quique and WDSports, there are so few other people that see the real value of Jurado. Let's hope the next coach gets rid of some of those other players that aren't good enough and gives him a key role, he deserves it.

  28. I see his value, just not on the left where he looks slow, rarely goes outside and crosses, rarely has an attacking full back going past him (because Quique Pulis wouldn't play Holebas) and ended up every time cutting inside into congested zones

Stick him central at the top of a midfield 3 just behind the striker(s) or don't play him at all

Would fit a 352 really well with runners both sides and ahead of him, and a couple of high energy enforcers in midfield providing some grunt

Sell Jurado if someone offers close to what we paid ,move him on , there is a skillfull player in there somewhere but his cannot produce week in week out maybe 1 good game in 5 if we are lucky , he is luxury player we cant afford next season ,imo a second rate fessi!

8 or 9 of them didn't play in the match that saved them from relegation, and the three kids who made their debuts didn't look ready.

Brilliant idea. Keep the player who's underperformed all season and get rid of the rest. If only you'd been advising the management when Trevor Senior or Diego Fabbrini were here.
