Jurado needs a nice spell in the Segunda Division - perhaps at somewhere like Tenerife, Mallorca, or Girona. Somewhere he can mince about at a snails pace in the warm, cutting inside instead of trying to beat a man, and putting in **** crosses, coupled with taking weak shots, crap corners and free kicks. Ideally this would be a permanent thing rather than a loan. If not, how about farming him out to Granada, where they can benefit from his supreme weekly contributions to the team.

 

Given the way we're plundering Grenada, I think sending them Jurado would be a pis stake too far,

Well things have come to a pretty pass when one of our own players still at the club now has a derogatory smiley on this forum in "honour" of him.

Sad to say, as I've been supportive of him all season and was convinced deluded he'd come good, but the penny has finally dropped for me in the last couple of games (maybe three as he was hardly effective against Villa either) and I usually try to find the positives in all our performances/players, and last night really took the biscuit. Once again the odd sequence of pretty possession play comes to virtually nothing, he continues to lose the ball under the slightest of pressure, and he played a major part in Norwich's comeback as we folded like a pack of cards by not getting anywhere near Norwich's runners and providing adequate protection for Anya, who once again was at fault for at least one of their goals (and this was reflected in his clear altercation with Jur@do, when Anya's normally a pretty level-headed and laid back fella).

I'm not sure whether he's unfit or simply disinterested, but equally I'm not sure there should be any excuse if either (or both) are the case. Bottom line is he's had 30 games to get up to pace to the English game, and with a couple of periods out to recuperate, and if the problem is he's unhappy with being shackled by Flores' system, then he's had numerous times to do something out of his assigned position and has seldom created much of worth anyway.

That said I'm in two minds, maybe because I'm more of a romantic sentimentalist than a hard-nosed pragmatist - purely out of principle we paid a lot of money for him and I would be most unhappy if not downright embarrassed for a club our size, Pozzos or not, to have seen that all squandered, and maybe, just maybe, with a full pre-season ahead with a more attacking manager he will finally prove his worth seen only in glimpses during November-January and turn out to be a great player. Or, as GoingDown says (much though I've differed with him on Jur@do in the past), we just have to cut our losses, swallow our pride, accept we made a mistake (as all clubs do, hopefully this one won't be as costly as some), not gamble our finances in continuing to pay wages in the likely vain hope he'll finally deliver, and move him on.

With our Ant or Dec I want to like him but,mainly I think due to Quique obstinately playing him out of position,I can't.

This "being played out of position" thing that keeps coming up when Jurado is discussed.

No matter where he is on the pitch, being unable to beat a man, cross properly, shirking tackles, stepping aside to watch whilst hoping your teammate marks/tackles/wins the ball back/gives to you, hiding, as well as walking or ambling back instead of tracking back to win the ball are all football crimes he will commit in whichever position he plays because that's clearly inherent in his nature.

Basic requirements of any Premier League player in a pressing side or any style you care for.

He is a skilful professional footballer of that there is no doubt, but he just doesn't seem bothered.

Paul Madeley he is not. He's not even bloody Gavin Mahon who has been more effective in the positions Jurado has been played in.

This Spaniard must be the most expensive disappointment Watford have ever purchased. Not that he seems remotely bothered.
