last night some palace fans said they'd got a pop up thing saying it was 2 million - theese stories are inconsistent - which isnt good.

mmaybe it 500 k rising to 2 million? then if he was a flop it wouldnt matter too much

It was a text from the club I seem to recall.

Anyways 500k seems very cheap - I'm sure the 1,75-2 mio mentioned on the Palar5e MB is the potential cost depending on performance etc.

£500k would be a very good price, but i'm sure it will rise. I'm reluctant to believe the story until it happens. All last summer it was 'on the verge of signing for...' also over Jan the papers claimed we'd actually signed David Prutton but we hadn't...

Think that was the Daily Mirror that said we got Prutton...shi* rag anyway.

Quality signing if true...500k is an absolute snip...fingers crossed he signs!

500K would be an exceptional bit of buisness.

on the skysports website it has an article about us signing Jackson and at the bottom is says boothroyd is hoping to add palace winger mcanuff, however its not in quotes, but skysports is more reliable than most websites

He is in his last year of his contract so £1.75 million would seem a little steep. I would be happy with a 500k signing.:)

500k would be a bargain imo very nice if we've got him for that little, well if we've got him at all

    From todays Times:

Jobi McAnuff has asked for time to consider an offer from Watford, who have agreed a fee with Crystal Palace for the winger.

Translation: Wolves and Watford face a wages war to sign McAnuff from Palarse

    We'll lose then.

Either way it's unlikely he'll sign for us it seems.

If McAnuff won't sign, what chance do we have with the likes of Earnshaw?

It seems from what exactly, the slightest hint of another club being interested.

Who says he won't sign, we're not a financial wreck anymore and sure we aren't going to go big bucks on wages but we're certainly able to compete.

Palace fans seem to think that Jobi is stalling because he has been given the impression by Aidy that he is being brought in as a 'squad player' to provide depth, rather than to seriously challenge for a first team place. They also think that the agreed fee is actually £850,000.

    squad player no?
how dopalace ans know all this - im sure aidy made his role clear

maybe he wantsz a garenteed starting place we will have 3 good wingers in bouazza, mith and mcanuff, smith being able to play either wing, so any 2/3 could play - if he cant put up with haveing to compete then he should sign

"Promoted Derby's first foray into the transfer market will be for Crystal Palace winger Jobi McAnuff"

    From the Mirror..

Did Aidy actually say we were in for this guy or has it just been paper/Internet talk?

i have never seen a source where aidy has publically announced interest in him, but then who does make it public who they want to sign?

no player should expect to be able to walk into any team and demand a starting place, also if derby bid they'll get him

The longer this goes on for the less likely he is going to sign for us. I don't think it's about the money, I think it's more likely to be about the chance of Premiership football, which we can't offer.

But we did offer it last summer and he rejected us then

I thought it was because we couldn't agree a fee?

Anyhow, I doubt he will sign.

Still nothing, much as i want him to sign because he is a good technical player i don't like his attitude. Haven't done since an article in the Daily Mirror on the day of the play-off semi's (away) when he said we had no match winners and Palace would win.
If he does sign it will be interesting to see how long he wants to stick around for if things don't turn out how he hopes...

I wouldn't put to much into that statement. All part of the mind games surrounding that type of match. To me it shows he's got a winning mentality (although saying we didn't have a match winner when we had Marlon leading the top scorers list shows a lack of footballing knowledge).

Just banter and mind games in advance. It's the reactions after an event that reveal more about a character.

Exactly. And to be honest I haven't seen anything from theMuff to suggest he's got issues. But the discussion is pretty academic if - as reports suggests - Derby is in for him. Maybe they're trying to get aidy to sell them Noddy?

Think he's out for himself and as much money as he can get. To be honest who can blame him. My worry about this is why now would he come to us when we first came in for him we were a premiership club now we're the same level as palarse. So what changed in 6 month for him to want to come to us now?
