Yeah it's being discussed in the Ruddy thread. My understanding from the reports is bournemouth bid £10m and chelsea have said bid £12m and he's yours. He's only 29 so I am absolutely baffled why we arent in for him. We are surely an equally attractive draw as bournemouth. And he's 29 so we'd get 6 good years out of him (probably). Much as I'd love us to throw all our cash at sexy foreign strikers, this would be a very sensible transfer.
Begovic does seem the most obvious bit of business for any club like us/muff to go for, I think you would do well to find a keeper of his quality and experience for less and at 29 you could sort your #1 keeper spot for the next 5 seasons or so barring any injuries. Although he has sat on the bench lately I imagine a run of games and he'd be right up there again.
