As expected the end of season collapse has started. I hope 40 points is enough as we will not get anymore this season. All we can do is hope Swansea don't pick up 10 points from their final 4 games.

Against 10 men since the 25th minute, we go on to lose 2-0. Pathetic. No goals away AGAIN.

I know Mazzarri will use his pre-match excuse and blame Watford for relaxing, but it's really not good enough.

The attitude of our players stinks. They come on the pitch and stroll around as if they deserve the three points. They're far more of a disgrace than Mazzarri in my opinion. We need to weed out the bad attitudes this summer.

An utterly contemptuous defeat. Pathetic and spineless. No tactical changes when required or desire to win. Shocking displays against some of the worst teams in the division barely scraping past Sunderland at home, losing away. Scraping past Swansea and Boro. It's lucky we're not in the relegation battle ourselves.

The one thing fans expect from a team and the manager is for it to have some semblance of a plan and showing effort and tenacity on the pitch. Dreadful wouldn't describe it.

Why Doucoure has been left out for most of the season and why Capoue continues to get a free ride beggars belief. He should be one of the first out of the exit door this summer. He plays when he wants to and that rarely.

Wow, just wow. I didn't mind losing today as clearly Hull were desperate for 3 points. But seriously?!? This wasn't Hull battling but us just coasting through the game and seeing that might happen.

Home game against Liverpool, then 3 away games at Lesta, Everton & Chelsea...we'll finish the season on 40 points.

I'm done for this season...absolutely zero interest, I'm going to start enjoying my weekends now by not watching.

    Shocking

Worst thing is I feel like i've watched this same performance 20 times already this season

Some ended with wins, some draws, most losses... but the turgid football was the same throughout

All I care about now is Swansea results. I wont be happy until we're mathematically safe.

Man I'm glad I missed the trip to Hull... we are still NOT safe.. So what the hell was that about? We have just moved three points closer to the Championship today. A BIG performance needed after that shambles. I'm almost disgusted to call myself a fan..

Bad day at the office. We absolutely dominated and should have been two up but for some excellence from their keeper for Prodl's header and then some pitiful finishing from Capoue.

Got hit on the counter and they nearly blew it. They were fortunate really.

Then their second, well, there's not much you can say to those. Fair play. That was a scorcher. They had three shots on target and scored from two of them.

We tried really hard, perhaps too hard, and you could see tempers were frayed towards the end. Commentator said we should have pushed more support up with Deeney when they went down to 10. I'd perhaps agree and maybe Okaka should have been brought on at HT to do precisely that when we still hadn't scored.

I suppose he didn't want to risk getting hit on the counter. Well, so much for that.

That Grossicky fella is one of the ugliest footballers I've ever seen. What's wrong with his eyes? He certainly fits in well in Hull judging by some of the crowd shots.

I have to say I liked Rannochia - shame we didn't get him. I'd play him in place of Britos for a start off.

Capoue is such a frustrating footballer. I'm coming more and more to the reluctant conclusion though that I can see why Spuds let him go.

Hate this team, hate this manager, hated this season.

Just absolutely **** poor yet again, Hull go down to 10 men, nothing changes, just pass it around the back offering nothing. Amrabat has a poor game isn't subbed off till the 60th minute, not strong at the back, not strong up front, not strong in the midfield, just ****.

Contrast that to Bournemouth who just beat Middlesborough 4-0 and scored 4 goals in a league match for the third time this season, we've done it once. Just so bored of this now, Deeney up front on his own, hoof, no service, lose the midfield battle, repeat. Yawn.

People will argue that we're 10th and it can't be that bad but we're still 5 points off last seasons total and our remaining five fixtures Liverpool, Leicester, Everton, Chelsea & Man City where I can't see us picking up a SINGLE point so that 10th place arguement is a moot point in my opinion.

So new manager, new players, more money spent, higher wages yet didn't get as far in the cup and likely to finish on less points than last season? To me that's a poor season, I blame Mazzarri, a lot on here won't but regardless, it's not good enough.

I've not been a Mazzari basher, but that's a serious mark against him.

Woeful adventurousness. No urgency or pace to our play, like there has not been all season.

We're a smash and grab side that had no plan B when we have to dictate the play. 2 shots on target against 10 men Hull. Awful.

And can people stop solely criticising Amrabat. Despite a mixed display of good and bad, with some fantastic balls and some bad decisions, he was a million times better than Success when he came on.

    When is this season over?

We have too many players that 'empty the tank' once in every 10 games. Capoue, Amrabat, Niang, Britos... Too many players are comfortable and are being allowed to get away with putting in minimal effort for maximum gain.

Whether we like it or not, and many won't admit as much, we are extremely fortunate to be where we are in the league and the performances have been worse than dire all too often. The teams coming up from the championship are better than the ones going down from the PL, so make no mistake, without big changes in the summer, we will be in trouble next season if we go at it with this bunch.

I'd start with a whole new back four and a solid holding midfielder. Players that aren't afraid to have blood drawn and get their kit muddy. And this all before I've even mentioned Walter...

    Should've kept Slav.

Success and Amrabat aren't that great, totally disillusioned with Mazzarri, players had a chance to show resolve and commitment in that game and blew it big time.

Well that was an utterly shameful performance. Thing is, on balance it is representative of our season as a whole, in terms of attitude and performances.

I do not understand those who say "It was that player's fault, not the manager/head coach" because it is literally Mazzarri's JOB to prevent the players from playing that badly/being that lazy/performing that tactically ineptly. Further to that, was it the players' choice to change nothing whatsoever to adapt to the very fortunate situation we found ourselves in having been gifted an extra man for 2/3rds of the game?

We played with no urgency and very little accuracy, as we have done for long stretches of the season. It's perfectly possible we'll end up with 40 points, given our form and the remaining fixtures, and no, in reality we all know that's not really good enough, not to mention the terrible football we generally produce. Carragher might have been whining about us in his commentary, but everything he said was more or less accurate. Safety and a 3rd season are amazing for us as a club and fans, but nothing else is at present. The signs aren't good.

I can't imagine Gino wasn't taking notice of this, as he watched from the stands with Duxbury and Dowling.

WM's tactics sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Sure the owners wont be happy with that. Players showing early signs of suffering from 40 point syndrome.

Did you watch it? Yes it's a good strike, but Watford had all ELEVEN players in the penalty box... WHY?! Are we that incapable of adapting to an in game situation? Should have been 1/2 on the half way line and one marking outside the box!

Dreadful overall performance, many have covered it. Watching it was hard.

Mazzari must go. Regardless of us being safe, he is tactically inept.

Can't say too many of the players looked up for it today and they have to take a fair share of the blame but that said what was the plan from Wally? Do we do anything in training to try and prepare for matches? We have no built-up attacks and no tactics for making space or working the ball forwards, they just hit it long to Deeney who doesn't win as much as he used to and even when he does win the arial duel there's nobody close enough to him to collect the second ball. Maybe we play too much to fit Deeney's style, rather than playing players who will fit a team identity.

After Hull went down to ten men we didn't shown any intent to take the initiative and push for a win; we were far too passive and slow in our play. Mazzarri should have made changes earlier to try and make something happen - Carragher had been saying in commentary we had to change something for about 10 minutes before their first goal. I'm sure every one of us could see we had to change something. Why was our head coach seemingly the only person who couldn't? Marco Silva has embarrassed him there and shown how to organise a team and turn things in your favour with changes during the game.

Yep I did. At the start of the game, the cameras panned to 6 men in suits- Gino, Duxberry, Dowling, Stuart Timperley (remember that name, apparently he's still involved with the club), Giraldi (I think) and one other

I didn't see it but friends who went are of the opinion that there was a lack of tempo and intensity. Contrast that to the effort of the tennis players in Monte Carlo to see how to compete!

I've played in matches where, as a competitor, you are safe from danger but the opponents are not and it IS difficult to maintain your desire.

However against 10 men for 70 minutes, I really thought the game was there for the taking.

A question for those who were there/watched a stream; who didn't apply themselves please?

The most turgid performance from the entire staff of WFC, unfair to single out any individual when we are leaderless and the playing staff seem to have no skill, motivation or respect for the club and its supporters.
Difficult to know what comes next, we've been abysmal all season though a look at the table suggests otherwise, another manager? I'm now doubting the Pozzo ability to know a good manager when he sees one and doubting their management of their manager and his staff, seemed just the same under QSF, they sat silently watching then come season end they let him go.
Who in their working life doesn't have someone more senior directing them over the course of their employment? At Watford seemingly we give the new manager the keys to the club and let him do whatever he wants, it's all getting tedious, is it any wonder that the number of empty seats at the Vic seems to be more and more every week?

A minus 17 goal difference, yet are still 10th on just 40 points from 33 games. The table is absurd this year.

Just looked up Swansea's remaining games:

Man Utd (a), Everton (h), Sunderland (a), West Brom (h).

If they get something at Old Trafford, I'll seriously be worried.

I'm not sure if we were watching the same game. Even before they went down to 10 they were packing the defence and looking to hit us on the counter. After the red card they just all sat back. All we did was attack. We had 5 corners to their none. As I said previously, we were very unfortunate that Prodl's header was met with a world class save.

As for hoofing, there are not many sides can play their way through a competent packed defence and midfield with quick short passing. We certainly don't seem to have that ability. So all that's left is the ball over the top or down the sides. Unfortunately we couldn't get those right either.

We finished the game with nearly two thirds of the total possession. How that equates with no desire to win is beyond me.

Some reasons I think contributed to a poor loss.
After a first half where we really should have been going in ahead, Hull were far far hungrier in the 2nd half and got the rub of the green because of their improved attitude, and the substitution.
Again we didn't attack sufficiently 2nd half. It seems, like under Quique, WM won't take the shackles off even when the opposition is really vunerable (see CPFC v WFC) .
The players didn't think for themselves and take the game by the scruff of neck (I put this partly down to the Manager).
Madley favoured Hull in a couple of dangerous positions in the 2nd half after a wrongful red card in the 1st.
This sort of thing happens in football (but it doen't stop me being really pi**ed off !!!). Please can someone offer some words of comfort.

Anymore performances like this and I think Gino may decide to start sharpen his axe.
