So Saturday's coming around again so soon, do we have a match?

We certainly do, we play away to Hull City, it will be our first visit to there since they pipped us to second place in the automatic promotion race in 2013.

But we both got in the Premier in the end, how did we do the last time we visited?

We won 1-0 courtesy of a Troy Deeney goal.

I don't remember it, can you provide a flashback?

Certainly...

Is the match on TV?

Since this match doesn't involve a Manchester team, it's not on TV.

They say Hull are the only away team where we have to wear our away kit, is that true?

Just let me Google "Hull team strip", ah here we go...

Curious, brave up north to be dressed like that. What about the team?

Sorry I couldn't find a nude picture of the team but resultswise they are doing nicely at home. They were pre-season favourites to go down considering that

only had 12¼ players available and would probably been relegated by now but unexpected wins from their first two games gave them a little cushion another

manager later they are in a scrap.

Who are their star players?

I don't think they have any, they used to have a Scottish fella who scored a couple of free kicks but since January he plays for the Olympic team.

What about their recent form?

Since the start of 2017 they have won 7 and drawn once at home so they've turned their ground into a bit of a fortress.

A fortress? What's their ground like?

To be fair, it's seen better days but if you're a gent standing on the terraces there appears to be ample toilet facilities.

Enough about the team, what about the city?

Apparently Hull has been made European city of culture, I've never been to Hull before so I can't comment.

But to be made European City of Culture surely it would have to be a very nice place to live?

Looking at these lists I know where I would live...

Do you have any pictures of the architecture of Hull?

Yes, feast your eyes...

Hull have won 7 drawn 1 of their home since Silva took over.

Would be very happy with a point from this.

Hoping for a win, but a draw would be a good result as their home form is very good since the new manager took over.

This is a MUST WIN! Anything less than 3 points and we'll all be bricking it again. I really hope the players don't have their sunglasses and flip flops on already...

Would only be fair to beat this lot too after recent results against the teams down there! I'm pleased that we seem to be building a core to the team that is working, now just to give some of the extras a chance to show what they can do, particularly Success who I still have high hopes for.

They have a couple of decent players but I fully expect our quality players in Niang, Okaka, Doucoure, Capoue, Janmaat and Success to see this lot off. 2-1 to the 'Orns.

ON THE ONE HAND:

40 points and safety means we will play with attacking freedom of expression with the players desperate to convince Mazzari they should be in his next seasons squad.
3-1 stinging of nervous Tigers, they won't know what hit them.

OR,
ON THE OTHER HAND:

"We've got the 40 points, Mazzari won't be here next season, why make the effort, when can I get on the beach?"
1-0 boring loss.

I feel it's six of one and half a dozen of the other, and I used to be undecided on which of these scenarios will play out, but now I've thought long and hard, I'm not so sure.

Unlike QSF in the second half of last campaign where we were pretty much safe much earlier and QSF must have known he was going to be leaving, Mazzarri is still on probation and seems keener to stay now than he did 6 weeks ago. I also reckon that the players know that from now they will be looking at who would most likely be in favour for next season. Play without fear, we've effectively got 6 free hit/training matches.

First two points I agree with but I feel like their manager is a right bore with no personality so I don't agree with the third one!

On the contrary CaveMan, I think stealing their manager and possibly a few of their players is an excellent idea :sign15:

Apart from Man Utd in the league cup semi 2nd leg when 2-0 down and Liverpool (who have a habit of losing to sh1t teams) they haven't beaten/drawn against anyone decent, call me greedy but I'd actually be a bit disappointed with anything less than a win.

Their defence is shocking and our away form has been awful since Boro, and this is easily our best chance of getting at least one more away win before the season's out.

I'm not confident. Haven't Hull only lost one at home since Christmas? It's odd how they're such an unbalanced side; their home record is astonishingly contrasting to their away record. I'd be happy with a point here.

Really hope to see Success in the starting line up. Would be great to get a few solid appearances in before the summer, to carry over to next season. With all due respect to Amrabat, I don't see him playing as big of a role as Success in the long term future of the club. So for me - same team as against Swansea but Success in for Nordin.

Their recent home form is impressive but they have also played alot of average sides. I'd be quietly disappointed if we didn't get a win here - but I'd take an entertaining game as we're safe now.

Agree with this. I think we've seen amrabat at his best and while he was decent first half of the season, I dont think he's good enough if we want to push on from where we are now.

Success on the otherhand still seems to have bags of potential. From here on in I'd like to see success start every match (fitness permitting....)

I suspect amrabat will be off in the summer.

Love the preview.

If we are serious about finishing in the top half we need the 3 points. We will see whether Walt can get them up for this one. If we don't turn up and give our best they'll beat us, will be desperate for the points.

A draw I reckon. Unless Niang is on fire.

Surreptitiously borrowed from TS again.

Hull have lost their last two league games against Watford, both by a 1-0 scoreline. They last lost three in a row against them in 1989.

Watford won on their last visit to Hull in the league, thanks to a Troy Deeney winner in April 2013. They’ve never won back-to-back away league games in Hull.

The Hornets won the reverse fixture in October 1-0 via a Michael Dawson own goal. They had 23 shots in the match, with none on target, which is a record for a winning team in a Premier League match (since 2003-04).

Hull have claimed 25 points in home games this season, compared to five away, accounting for 83% of their total (25/30).

Marco Silva has won five of his six home games in charge of the Tigers, drawing the other. No Hull manager before him had won three home Premier League games in a row.

Only in one previous Premier League campaign have Hull recorded more wins than the eight they have this season (10 in 2013/14).

Watford have surpassed the 40-point mark for the second consecutive season, something they last did in the top-flight in 1987.

A win for the Hornets would equal their win total for last season (12). In their other two Premier League campaigns, they had 11 wins combined (6 in 1999/2000 and 5 in 2006/07).

Harry Maguire has netted in back-to-back league games for the first time in his career (two goals) – he had scored twice in his previous 93 league outings prior to this run.

Only West Brom (29y 324d) have used an older starting lineup on average than Watford this season in the Premier League (29y 250d).

Shocking northern workmanship. The 2 teams working on the channel tunnel couldn't even see where they were tunnelling but managed to meet up correctly. No such excuse here. So frustrating for local residents left with a 25 mile round trip round the Humber to see loved ones, or as here, just walk to the end of their side of the bridge and wave, almost within touching distance of their loved ones.

Will be nice to play with a bit of freedom knowing we're safe.

I'd start to mix things up a bit, probably more so after the Hull game. Start Okaka for 3 or 4 games and give him a shot, see if he can get some consistency. Is Zuniga injured? Or just out of favour? Success has to start every game now, he's hardly going to build up any match fitness sitting on the bench. Perhaps try and get some of the youngsters involved as well - Pereira, Mason, Folivi, Obi etc.

I pray Walter doesn't do a Flores and stick obstinately to his favoured players and defensive rigidity with no flair even tho we were safe.

I'm going to agree with you CB, I'll come off the fence as it was getting painful and go for my 3-1 win option.
Come on Walter, show us you're not a one trick Italian defence pony.
