Had an exciting evening pondering whether to let my belt out a notch or two and then saw this thread pop up. The only thing I've retained from watching the Huddersfield game is how knackered Cleverley looked after about 30 minutes. He was gasping for air with hands on hips after a bit of ball chasing on the far touchline and I could feel the burn in his chest from my kitchen. He's not the only player who looks physically spent before half-time and it's a bit **** really.
I think given how unbalanced our squad is, and how we’ve accumulated players across a number of managerial changes, it’ll take at least a couple transfer windows for the squad to start looking right. My hope is that if nothing else, we’ll start to see evidence of a clear vision in terms of the type of player we target, both technically and in terms of character. For too long, our recruitment has been haphazard, and lacked a focused approach to building a balanced and hungry group of players.
