It's simplistic thinking on my part but I think our attacking play is poor because so few players can pass accurately on a consistent basis.

Something Deeney said recently may point as to why this is the case. He said it's been difficult becoming the side having so much possession and having the attacking initiative placed upon it because the side has been used to counter-attacking in the EPL. Consistent accurate passing isn't needed when you break quickly so that particular deficiency wasn't exposed as often as it is now.

That then does suggest Ivic hasn't adapted his play in a way suitable to the players at his disposal so in that respect, after some 20 games in charge, he should shoulder some of the blame.

I'm assuming today's performance was on a par with that of Beppe's squad when he held an "on pitch" training session directly after the ****-show.

Hoping it is either Howe or Bilic but whoever it is it cannot be another Juan Carlos Whohe .
Too many managers create player power as they know they will be gone after a month or so .

Yep, that’s all fair. We lack players comfortable in possession, or capable of bringing the ball between the lines. We are not able to move the ball quickly, even when we’re not under pressure. I’ve said this before, but just watch how many times we make simple passes that go to the wrong foot, or behind a players so they have to stop and adjust. It’s dreadful, and really highlights the lack of technical ability, along with poor concentration amongst our squad.

It was obvious today that our only hope of moving the ball from back to front was at the feet of either Ngakia or Wilmot. We don’t have midfielders capable of receiving the ball on the turn and passing progressively, nor did we have a striker capable of holding the ball up.

As ever, I think it also points to the haphazard nature of our squad building, and signing players for a succession of managers with different styles of play.

I love my naff little club. No matter what it'll always be there. 30 plus years of this bond can't be broken no matter the manager, owner or squad but it's fair to say just like others this dial it in bunch of mercenaries can absolutely jog on in January.

Players upset at defensive tactics. Ok then try and shoot at goal to prove the manager wrong you utter ******s.

Or shows them up as the **** players they are, which is understandable.

They also don't seem to buy into any style or philosophy!

How about enthusing the players, rather than disciplining them?

Xmas come early for the BWs.

Painful for the real fans to see this situation at the club though .

I hate the fact that we are about to sack another manager , it’s gives our club such a bad reputation .
If the performances were positive or showing signs of improvement I’d be quite happy as our points tally at the moment is reasonable .

But the style of football is dire and dour and it seems the players are losing their passion too so I won’t be sad if/when Ivic goes .

So the so called BW's are not real fans either ? Or perhaps we are realists. As I have said before BRLR there is nothing more that would enthuse me and many others to see us top of the table or thereabouts playing with panache, scoring freely and hopefully securing promotion and better still winning the title. I feel depressed again this evening. It isn't logical and there are far more serious things in the world to be depressed about and worried by and people who are suffering but it still cannot stop one from feeling down.

I wish Vladimir all the best. At the time he seemed the right choice and I am sure he will learn from this experience or I hope he does. I just hope our hierarchy after having made a pledge to make the right choice in the summer apologize and don't repeat the same mistakes. Unfortunately given their track record recently I have little confidence they will.

Counter attacking usually involves at least one pass, so I'm not buying that.

Perhaps it's more about confidence and intent. More of the ball would be ok if we knew what to do with it.

His efforts at controlling the ball today were laughable.
And laugh I did, along with Foster and Capoue’s best efforts and our attempts on goal ...
To paraphrase a well known TV pundit “ Kiko is clearly a footballer but he’s not a defender”

‘Andre Gray is clearly an attacker but he’s not a footballer’.

Counter attacking generally involves quick but fewer passes with more space around the player receiving the ball due to the opposition being in more attacking positions. There isn't the need to be 100% accurate with the placement of the pass as it can include passing into space to run on to.

Trying to play from the back and through congested midfields and defences means passing is usually to feet and between two or more opposition players. There's far more risk and need for accuracy. Our lot are unable to do this on a consistent basis and, as you say, will lack confidence in trying to pass through defensive lines the more they give the ball away.

I don't think our players are good at showing for the ball either so it places even more need for pinpoint passing.

I heard the old corner flag was on the cusp of a bonus for its 10th appearance manager sacking bonus. Gino ain’t standing for that ****.

Bit late to the party but today reminded me of Javi's last game in charge away at Newcastle. Chasing a winner, he chooses to bring on Success when Sarr and Welbeck were available on the bench.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but today's team line up of Gray up front over Deeney and Perica with 3 at the back seemed to me to be a bit of a goad from Vlad to Gino to 'do your worst'. The subs used during the game reconfirmed my suspicions. Masina and Navarro as the last subs was comical. Again, very similar to when QSF through on Foulquier during his last game in charge away at Southampton.

Even the case of naming Adam Parkes on the bench with Bachmann during the last few games seemed to be a little goad to Gino for some reason.

Cheers Vlad. I personally think it's a bit harsh that he's gone. But even I have to admit it's been painful watching us so far this season.
