Possibly Welbeck doing laps with Capoue?

I think we are going to want Murray in the box as much as possible, he's a finisher. Could get a lot of goals this season with the amount of crosses and cut backs we're going to produce.

Would be an interesting move for them, seems their problem isn't so much creating chances but finishing them, might be a better platform for him than us...unless he truly is completely and utterly washed up!

Always aware of Watford's Law being we/I will be proved wrong and embarrassed in the process as soon as they play us, but from the little we have seen of Murray, this seems like one thing you can't blame the coaches/Pozzo for, in terms of it being the case that he really is shot and waiting to be melted down for glue.

Don't get me wrong, we can hugely blame the Pozzo for bringing him in with the idea that he would be any kind of adequate replacement/addition - we can only logically they agreed to do so without having scouted him or watched even the games he played against us last season.

But he did not show a single thing in his limited cameos that suggested he even has the legs to be a footballer anymore, let alone the rest. And don't get me started on the attempted dummies...

How about we keep him rotting in our reserves and force QPR to sign Deeney instead.

Meltdown when he scores the winner against us .

I'd start him against Man Utd. Might get those old legs running again - but we have to watch how long he plays. Blood pressure and all that.

No chance he plays. He’s shielding under government guidelines.

Probably go to Q.P.R and end up with more goals than Deeney, Gray and Perica.

I was thinking separately but if it was combined he would hardly need to set the world a light. Although I think if we get Perica playing regularly he could be decent, either way I agree with Skyla give Murray and Perica a run out against United or even give Dalby a run out.

More I think of it, it's not as if there's much of a downside to this deal (in and of itself anyway), best case scenario, he bangs goals, worst case scenario, he just stays in the background helping out the young lads

To be fair he may be passed it but do you really see Murray missing the opportunities Gray has missed recently? I kind of agree with you if anything it will help the likes of Dalby and maybe even J.P having someone with Glenn Murray's experience on the training ground, probably could have paid a top striker coach less money though.

    In regards to Perica?

It's noteworthy that Brighton fans still love him and a fair few think he'll still do well in the Championship. It's a good omen.

Murray to Brighton fans is what Deeney could have been to us, had he adapted his game with his age, kept in shape and not gobbed off about something every 2 mins.

I know he is 36, but he would be an ideal replacement for Deeney, and an improvement on him too. He would probably smash the Championship defenders and we only need him for one season to help get us back to the PL.

Glenn Murray was 37 years old last September.

He was going to play the Deeney role of trying to win flick-ons and hold the ball up for our super quick younger strikers to run onto....

    That never happened.

We ended up with Sarr and Pedro up front throwing Murray on for 5 minutes at Reading as an example then not once getting the ball into the box.

I know, but I wouldn't get too hung up on his recent record in the Premier League. He wont be the main man, just someone who can nick a goal in a tight game coming off the bench. I'd much rather have Welbeck but in the absence of him, he's a good option that will not cost the club too much.

It was the year of our Lord, 1901. Queen Victoria had recently passed and 32 year old Glenn Murray completed a loan move from Brighton and Hove Albion to Watford. Historians claim he’s been here ever since.

    What a bloody pointless signing.

Will one day be a quiz question among the likes of Trevor Benjamin, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Lucas Neill and Les Ferdinand.

Though of course he will definitely score against us when we next play QPR.

Unusually correct for once! Mind you I think most called it... Useless, waste of time and money signing.
